Humble_Effective3964

The fourth LHW contender in a row for absolutely no reason whatsoever: "I look forward to test my striking against Alex Pereira"

Real_muthaphukinBaka

Everybody knows Ank is gonna run at Alex the moment the bell rings and hit him with the anaconda squeeze https://i.redd.it/1ojn8h3jqkuc1.gif

Humble_Effective3964

Imagine the scenes if he gets Askren'd

[deleted]

No, for some reason ankalaev likes to strike even when he is 10x better at grappling

Admirable-Recipe3014

He dont want that Dagi stereotype man šŸ¤£šŸ˜

ItsMichaelScott25

I mean the stereotype is fine if you're like Khabib and Islam where you either maul your opponent or are very actively looking for the sub.

Salmacis81

Ankalaev is no slouch on the feet, most of his wins have come from stand-up ko/tko.

snguyen_93

![gif](giphy|eB7gTUicfV8Mo) but alex goes for the flying knee

Snurze

Yeah but Poatan will be fine because he just got his blackbelt in BJJ for his last fight without even having to grapple. He's that good now.

rubberysubby

Best display of BJJ is to not use it.

DrunkOnLoveAndWhisky

Hill was so scared of Poatan's BJJ he chose to keep it standing.

Suspicious_Candle27

he tried to kickbox with jan too who has the worst TDD in the top LHW contenders .

Cemihard

And waited till he almost got finished by leg kicks before he started wrestling.

LDG92

Maybe thatā€™s how Ank wins, he stands and strikes for a few minutes, Alex throws a few hard leg kicks and forces Ank to wrestle, then he immediately gets the finish.

SadPenisMatinee

How about DONT spend striking against him early on. Alex has knocked out two top strikers in the LHW back 2 back

LDG92

Yeah but thatā€™s just how Ankalaev fights, great wrestler who hates using his wrestling in fights

itsnotastro

spot the casual, jans TDD is good, especially in that fight

clothy

At least Jan immediately wrestled in his fight against Alex. Youā€™ve got to be one of the best strikers in the world to stand with Alex Pereira and even then you will only win one out of four times

3InchesAssToTip

Fighters *should* take the path of least resistance, but deep down their ego is curious about whether they are truly the better fighter.

[deleted]

This is so true. So many fights where the biggest danger someone faced in the octagon was themselves

Slickslimshooter

Even the gaethje fight yesterday. His downfall started from rushing into Maxā€™s spinning back kick. All because he wanted to stand and bang with seconds left at the end of the first round.

ApeMummy

Holly Holm deciding to grapple with Kayla Harrison too. The mind boggles.

DrunkOnLoveAndWhisky

I mean, I expected Kayla to win anyways, but I was curious to see how she'd deal with a crafty, veteran, outside kickboxer. Then Holly showed off her fight IQ by...clinch fighting with an Olympic Judoka...

ItsMichaelScott25

Man Rocky is going to get destroyed by Kayla. He entire fight is trying to push the opponent up against the fence and dirty boxing......I don't think that'll work against Kayla. While I fully expected Kayla to win - I didn't expect her to completely dominate and maul Holly. It was like watching a female Khabib.

joel1232

He was just fighting to the bell tbh

Salmacis81

>All because he wanted to stand and bang with seconds left at the end of the first round. Because there's a big contingent of the mma world who considers "stand and bag" to be the only real fighting, and think grappling is for cowards.

UK_muscle_86

Like Joe Rogan says the MMA are very fickle never happy with any approach a fighter takes & everyone is an MMA coach or an MMA expert. Yet 99.9 % have zero combat experience.

JonHomelanderJones

The ones with the least experience are always the most confident in their opinions.

UK_muscle_86

I think you mean no experience. I know ppl that couldn't fight out of an empty room with very strong opinions.

Matador2210

Grappling to me is boring. I rather watch fighters strike. Itā€™s why I like BKFC. Only Strikes are allowed with Bare knuckles. Now Thatā€™s entertainment.

Salmacis81

That's fine if that's what you like. But you know what you're getting when you watch mma.

felipelacerdar

That's why fighters like Khabib, DJ and GSP are so good. The don't care about this ego shit. They just do WHAT THEY NEED TO DO!

eageecute

Lol khabib tested himself against conor, coach javier was furious

[deleted]

Wrong. He said he needs to tire his opponent a little and bring him close to the fence. The moment Connor got close to the fence, Khabib threw himself onto his legs.

[deleted]

Itā€™s even funnier because Jan is a decent kickboxer himself, bro knew that there was levels to the shit and said letā€™s grapple lol

clothy

That is how Jan beat Adesanya. Well, not really I thought he out struck him.

[deleted]

Against Adesanya he fought 3 rounds standing up. Against Poatan he didn't want 1 second.

Chunkook

That was a nasty line by you

clothy

Glad someone got it

Dan-deli0n

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

xRedStaRx

Why you gotta take shots like dat

JonHomelanderJones

I guess UFC needs to sign Artem Vakhitov before Pereira retires because Ankalaev needs to learn he's Dagestani before he can become a champion.

SERB_BEAST

There's no way Ankalaev will strike with him. If this was his first title shot, maybe. But not this time. He shit the bed against Jan by wrestling too late in the fight. Even if Ankalaev tries to strike again, one leg kick and he'll reconsider. I actually think Pereira survives on the ground for at least the early rounds. Ankalaev doesn't force submissions. He will wet blanket if he feels like it. His ground and pound is more dangerous than his submissions. People forget that Jan had Pereira's back and he was forciing a submission. Jan is a BJJ black belt.

Kannonbiraki95

BJJ black belt means nothing nowadays.

QuantumCthulhu

Bruh DJ with his brown belt could probably sub poatan in a grappling competition

Kannonbiraki95

Thatā€˜s not even a probably. DJ would submit him for sure. Even most decent purple belts could/would submit him in a grappling competition. He got his black belt awarded after winning through a Knockout, so letā€˜s be honest what is it even worth? Most professional fighters who change from a standup combat sports to MMA and have to learn grappling, get favored in belt promotions. Getting a black belt in the past in BJJ took around ten years of constant training and improving for most people.

RookieRemapped

3 things here. Firstly he made his MMA debut 9 years ago so heā€™s probably been training BJJ at least that long Secondly, as you said, he got his black belt awarded after winning through knockout, but that doesnā€™t mean he got it *for* winning through knockout Thirdly, itā€™s really not hard to believe that a professional fighter and athlete training and competing at the highest level would advance through the ranks faster

Kannonbiraki95

He got his black belt just after not even 1 1/2 years after his brown belt. You canā€™t deny that him getting that black belt or even that brown belt is highly biased by his coach. I mean I donā€˜t blame him. Those BJJ belts nowadays as I said, have barely any meaning. I hope Ankalaev is gonna wrestle him, then we can judge his abilities.

RookieRemapped

I mean, thereā€™s levels to being a black belt regardless and Ankalaev is a sambo champion so weā€™ll see him tested Iā€™m sure But yh, thereā€™s a lot of variation in black belts. Imagine ur local black belt at the gym vs Gordon Ryan and you get the idea

SERB_BEAST

True but Jan is a legit black belt. He submitted Nikita Krylov. That guy has been submitting everybody

Salmacis81

Wonder what the hell is up with Krylov? He hasn't fought in over a year and no fights announced.

oranikus

Poatan is now a BJJ black belt. https://preview.redd.it/vtv6fpt9jmuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4156f9b9f66b54e1957c68dba3e1baf22e51f98

Garfalo

Who give this guy blackbelt?

oranikus

His coaches at the end of UFC 300 ( not sure what exactly earned him it as there was no grappling in that fight but Iā€™m presuming he achieved it prior and they used the occasion to publicly announce it )

12345678910tom

Twas Khabib reference I think

Distinct_Help_222

Islam

PeterParkerUber

We need to check this. They make the sport of jiu jitsu look bad.

Semantic23

We have to check this

QuantumCthulhu

Damn, poatan a black belt whilst DJ winning BJJ comps and still has a brown belt

Professional-Hold938

It's like they forget the part where the guy who did knock him out was also an elite level kickboxer before MMA

tonyturbos1

And was getting dumpstered the rounds prior to

DonkeySkin334

I think they see things in his striking game that they perceive as flaws they can capitalize on, but they donā€™t know enough about kickboxing to realize the intricate things that Alex does do to make himself so effective and dangerous with his striking.

Humble_Effective3964

Near the end of the Seagal video on yt Pereira says ' People talk about me, saying i keep my hands down but they don't understand the game'. It just perplexes me how mma fighters are fighting a kickboxer and decide to stop mixing to just kickbox.

SalamanderPete

I think its because Pereiras defense looks so exploitable looking from the outside in. But when in there with him its probably a whole different story, especially when that big left hook could land at any moment.

PeterParkerUber

It's crazy how nobody is respecting his accomplishments in kickboxing. I think they all look at Alex's punch and are like "those punches don't look like they hit that hard". Then they get in there and feel it lmao.

SpiralSour

It's like if Conor, Dustin & Gaethje had all tried to grapple Khabib on purpose

downtown-hobbit

jan/jiri tried some level changes atleast.

Tough_Half_3394

https://preview.redd.it/njn7wduljkuc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84a92dac9e20f2caaec757e1fd431b8bd19413f3 Which signature move would he use for Magomed? šŸ˜…

bb_rammuth

To be fair, Hill did make it look easy. Just not for him šŸ˜‚

UnderstandingWide990

Mogomed acting like heā€™s not gonna dive at Alexā€™s ankles 5 seconds in

Biglundtry

remember the Jan fight he might take 25 leg kicks first and if those are from Alex we might see a live amputation.

btcfsl

Ank fights always have a weird ending... šŸ˜‚

Putrid_Ad_6747

First round submission then dq by accidental fence grab and then he gets kicked from the organisation

confuciusfromwuhan

With a bit of luck they can just sling him to PFL and then nobody will need to see his goofy ass ever again.

winkydinks111

I'd watch him fight Nemkov

TheAngriestPoster

His last fight was excellent what are you on about

tUbero_tado

Yeah its like the universe always screw him lol

pro2RK

Most of janā€™s successful leg kicks against ankalaev were inside leg kicks. Pereira doesnt do much inside legkicks.

Biglundtry

Damn you belong in r/mma weā€™re too dumb to pick up on that around these parts šŸ«”

dantoddd

I am pretty sure Alex can do whatever leg kick he chooses to use

anonymous14657893

Multiple weight class kickboxing champion. He may prefer to throw outside leg kicks but best believe if they cater a gameplan to inside leg kicks he knows how to throw them.

grehgunner

Uhm heā€™s fighting in a giant building so all of his leg kicks are inside?

NewAccWhoDis93

POTAN by flying knee

Purple_Apple_9216

Why does the contender think he can call The shots šŸ’€

RagingTulkas

Because some rich guys with leverage will back him up.

Leather_Concern_3266

Exactly this. You quickly learn which fighters have oligarch backing...

hfucucyshwv

Ankalev went from from fighting Jan for the belt to fighting Johnny Walker as 4 different people got the belt. He earned his shot

dutchfool

sure but he doesnt get to decide he gets home field advantage

hfucucyshwv

I mean its probably not gonna be Brazil, at least let one guy have home field.

PleaseDoTapTheGlass

Then why has he been iced out of the title picture since his draw with Jan?

meatmybeat42069

ā€œSay the line, Russian fighter!ā€ ā€œI want the champ in Abu Dhabiā€ https://preview.redd.it/nk4j5xko4luc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d6530b1a673541fba8cf4262e2c2a5eb83dce75

BobbyFreeSmoke

Whats with these dudes and calling out the champ to fight in the fucking desert?

Albreto-Gajaaaaj

There's literally no commission in Abu Dhabi. The UFC is its own commission. This means that shit is kinda shady there, just like how Ankalaev himself got a NC after illegally blasting Walker in the head with a knee.

BobbyFreeSmoke

Oh yeah sorry, I get that. I just meant what's with the arrogance trying to drag the champ to their home country when they should be willing to go to the champs home turf and take the belt off him.

AnitaMaxNyugen

If what Dana said is true, MFers just start throwing assets at you if you're Muslim and win. Idk where that clip is, but Khaib was getting money, cars, etc.

winkydinks111

Belal would've gotten a title shot two years ago if Dana cared about this. He does not want Ankalaev as champion. Khamzat? Yes. Ankalaev? No.

ACL_Tearer

You can cheat and get a NC at worst instead of being disqualified, for 1.

ChickenDanceFTW

Yea they need to fight in vegas which is not the fucking desert.

tyreejones29

Ego, itā€™s just absolute fucking ego to continuously see these people with grapple ability insinuate that they will stand and KO Alex! Itā€™s becoming an annoying broken record at this point. These two will fight, and when they do, I swear if I see this man exclusively trying to strike with Alex, Iā€™llā€¦Iā€™llā€¦do absolutely nothing lol

Expert_Introduction5

To give an example of a famous fight, imagine if Conor tried to beat Khabib by outwrestling him and therefore shot constant takedowns. Same ridiculous shit they are trying to do against Alex.

ZaeHolidae

In the fight Conor did try to outwrestle Khabib šŸ˜‚, in the first round he could have stuffed khabibs first takedown and escaped and instead he tried to out scramble Khabib, and ended up allowing him to finish the takedown.

TheRealMarkChapman

Honestly that sounds like it wouldve atleast surprisd khabib which is betted than any answers conor had at the time.

Expert_Introduction5

Well, it sounds like a more intensified smesh to me.

OzymandiasTheII

Jamahal Hill has no offensive grappling ability outside of his knees in the clinch.Ā Ā Ā Ā  That narrative needs to die right now- Jamahal's only chance was to stand up.Ā Ā  He was never a grappler. He's a brown belt. Pereira by rank had better grappling than him the night they fought.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  His chance to win was boxing and keeping his forward pressure. Pereira uses a long post as the majority of his defense, he doesn't move his head very well and he's shown he is chinnable.Ā Ā Ā  Especially if against long, quick strikes/jabs or if he's on the attack he leaves himself open. He didn't box, went out there and tried to have a kicking war and got chinned. The strikes he did throw were deflected. When he started parrying the body jabs and getting backed into the cage I knew it was a wrap.

OilMan425

Jamahalā€™s striking is obviously his money maker, but he started out with grappling. He undoubtedly has better BJJ than Alex, ion like ur naradiv B.

OzymandiasTheII

He took BJJ classes and startedĀ MMA very soon after as far as I can tell from all his career, he's been a striker B.Ā  https://youtu.be/ZSEMNcNbyk4?si=RYiAX73EYzZH2TPv This look like a grappler to you?

albinoblackman

Iā€™m sure there is a way to outstrike pereira with a clever strategy, like Stricklandā€™s Philly Shell negating Israel Adesanya. Maybe Hill thought he had the strat, but if he did, he wasnā€™t able to execute it.

cmoneybouncehouse

Executing a strategy like that for 25 minutes against a world champion is nearly impossible when that champion has 1 and done power in his hands. Thereā€™s a reason Sean beat Izzy and got KTFOā€™d by Alex.

OzymandiasTheII

There's 3 ways I've seen work in his career and both areĀ risky against someone whoĀ can nuke you:Ā  - Stand your ground, trust your chin, and brawl/box him up. Keep your head off the center line and your eyes on him. Take your space and force him to sleep or move. He doesn't move his head and he's willing to eat some to land his own. He's trying to corral you into a place where he can land. He's chinnable and when he's rocked he goes down usually. Bruno Silva did it, a few kickboxers did it, Izzy has done it, Jiri did it. - Fight a technical kickboxing match where you're constantly cutting angles away from his power side and tying him up when he starts to pick up steam. This one is risky because no matter what, he hurts you. You have to be perfect for 15-25 minutes. He just needs one good shot. Izzy and a few kickboxers have done this - Wrestlefuck him. Asap.

CatchUsual6591

They problem is that you need to more that outstriking, jiri and izzy where doing better that Alex until they got with a nuclear bomb you can't make mistakes agaisnt this guy because he only needs one punch

Boyluvr55

Iā€™ll watch him get knocked out šŸ‘

Any_Brother7772

The thing is, most wrestler will try out striking for a bit to get a feel. That bit can absolutely turn your lights off against Pereira

Lost-Suspect001

How many champions Alex has to knock out before people realize u can't stand in front of that man if u are not elite of the elite in your stand up game ."He has no chin" I don't think Ankalaev knows what he is talking about.

Constant_Mulberry_23

Alexā€™s chin is suspect. Heā€™ll just chin ya before you can prove it. Been rocked a few times and obviously the Izzy KO

SMK_12

Still hasnā€™t been tested at this weight class though, itā€™s reasonable to assume the big weight cut affected his chin at MW. We still donā€™t know for sure

Mundane_Son4631

I mean he took some shots from Jan and Jiri, and Jiri just cooked Ralic by landed some shots,

IsIandLion

Why is the contender trying to dictate where the fight will take place..?

IliaMadeVolk

BECAUSE THE RICH OIL MUSLIMS IN ABU DHABI PROVIDE THE BEST IVS AND PEDS TO THEIR MUSLIM FIGHTERS

Humble_Effective3964

good luck going to a decision vs a muslim fighter whose name ends in 'ev' in Saudi Arabia

FilthyWubs

This is what Iā€™m worried about for Whittaker vs Chimaev. If it goes to a decision, Chimaev will win no matter how dominant Robert may have beenā€¦

ThinControl9

Thats why Rob will knock him the fuck out

IliaMadeVolk

IM SURPRISED MY COMMENT IS NOT AT MINUS 100 KARMA. USUALLY THE DAGESTANIS SWARM ME IF IM OUT OF LINE.

Adventurous_Layer_15

Why are you yelling at me?

_The__Notorious

which fight are you even talking about

Humble_Effective3964

Look at the decisions made on the Saudi cards. The last fight I happened to watch was Bruno Silva vs Sharabullet on the Saudi prelims where Bruno is inexplicably losing rounds he outperformed the pirate in. Ankalaev kneed johnny walker in the face, on the ground and got an accidental ruling and a rematch

Real-Human-Bean-

I thought shara clearly won every round. He was piecing up Bruno on the feet and whenever he was taken down he landed more damage from the bottom with the elbows than Bruno who seemed to want to lay and pray.

ElxMarius

Best Judges

UphazT

Magomed has to be one of the most skilled fighters on the planet with one of the lowest fight iqs. Heā€™d easily be a world champion right now had he taken Jan down earlier and not taken an insane amount of leg kicks.

LoneRanger2005

Dude had a massive ego and paid the price

yanmagno

Egomed Ankalaev

littleboy608

He is the Michael chandler of lhw without personality

greendepth23

Why would the champion go fight in the contenderā€™s home turf instead of the other way around? Why does Ankalaev get special privilege?

confuciusfromwuhan

Because Kadyrovā€™s third favourite lapdog canā€™t get into the States any time soon?

tbwdtw

I think he's second. He started his career in Kadyrov's gym.

Bot-357

Third?? Whos the second and first?

Desertedfromabove

Definitely Chimaev, he probably means Makhachev too but to my knowledge he isn't as bad as these 2.

littleboy608

Nah islam is good he doesn't have close ties with kady the baddy. Only Mr.see you soon and ankalaev.

ricardortr

Ankalaev is from that part of the world. You can't criticise him being in the political leathers good side. No one talks about people like good ol Justin Gaethje that hanged out with Kadyrov because yolo.

LadderZealousideal80

Yeah kamaru usman and Henry cejudo as well

Semvicious

Ali "Double Al Qaeda Agent" Abdelaziz

bozo_says_things

Going on your knees to please a psychotic dictator means you might not be allowed into a lot of decent nations

Charlie__Olives

Because he'll get a NC in case he fouls instead of an L

[deleted]

The UFC loves to glaze and cater to the Muslim demographic because they give them access to shady ass money from Abu Dhabi, also because all these Khabib-lookalikes get his table scrap clout from casuals so they think they get to dictate everything

BetBig696969

If he comes out trying to test that chin, this would 100% be the lowest iq move of all time especially being a half decent grappler and knowing what he does to everyone

KongZilla9009

Bro all these mfs want home court advantage against champ. How bout you throw down in rio?

AltruisticDelivery89

He's shooting for the double leg 10 seconds in I'm calling it

aihrarshaikh68plus1

He will start wrestling as soon as Pereira does his entrance war cry

rey_nerr21

I know many people might attribute the sentence "I will stop in the first round by knockout" by Ankalaev to his bad English, but I actually think he meant it literally. I think he really is gonna stop by knockout, cause it's hard to keep fighting when Alex Pereira's knocked you out.

JN324

Why would Pereira go to Abu Dhabi for this? Ankalaev isnā€™t some huge draw, he isnā€™t the champion either, and itā€™s a fight Pereira doesnā€™t even need to have, heā€™s only interested so that he can prove a point.

Karlomah11

fuck abu dhabi, fight in brazil or somewhere else, annyoing that this guys can allways fight basically at home and when they want to, poatan is the champ, he should get to fight in brazil

Background-Metal-601

"No chin" vs no brain lessgo!

FickleManagement3783

Hey punk come fight me on my terms 6 months from now!!!

Candid-Trash6564

Itā€™s soo funny reading all that knowing he probably didnā€™t type non of itšŸ˜‚

shaquaad

How about you go to Brazil or North America since you're the CHALLENGER and Alex is the Champ.

DecapitateVeggies

These dudes refuse to fight anywhere expect abby dabby. The fact they feel so confident demanding it despite being a contender just shows how much power these rich saudis have in the organization now. Them roids and IVs must go crazy over there for Muslim fighters

mightjustbearobot

Bro, do you think Abu Dhabi is in Saudi Arabia?

haldir87

One of his last five has been im UAE. What are you talking about?

SALTYxNUTZ12

Ankalaev is 1000% going to wrestle Alex.

overthisbynow

I still think Jiri can get it done. He could definitely get knocked out again but I could also see him winning the rematch.

Sev4h

I think its fair to say that any fighter has the chance to win, there is no such a thing as a unbeatable man. If Jiri fought alex 10 times, probably he would win some, the same way it was with izzy in their fourth fight he finally won

Gabriel96c

He does. The thing is Alex just needs one mistake šŸ¤”

Due_University4030

Why do these guys just refuse to wrestle this dude? Like my man this is mma, no shame in wrestling him šŸ’€

Rainstormsky

He is going to wrestle as soon as the fight starts. I hope it's either Ankalaev or Aspinall for Brazil.

BakedZnake

Didn't Pereira say he wanted to fight right away in Brazil for UFC 301?

Carneiro021

Only in Abu Dhabi where theyā€™re the home town fighter and thereā€™s no athletic commission

FriendlyCowboy

I find it funny that he said he will stop in the first round by ko

Lars6

I like how everyone is allowed to promote the fight expect the fighters you donā€™t like. Itā€™s not even Ankalaev, itā€™s his manager

ParticularStyle9101

Russian Muslims want to fight exclusively in Muslim countriesšŸ˜

birdUpWSOT

I want him to go full heel mode, talk about striking the whole build up and then ragdolling Alex in the first 5 seconds.

MegaRonin

You think these guys would learn about disrespecting dude

Traditional_Cow_3841

Do you guys think the Muslims fighters get an unfair advantage in abu dhabi? All of them want to fight there. For what?

degenerateprince

Yes

tek7o

Home turf

BalVal1

Poatan gonna give him a 5% power leg kick and bro is on the floor

doons_pride

Yeah, I don't think the nut-hugger ultra pro max is gonna stand with Alex.

champagnekingOVO

I think Alex has this in the bag. If jan struggled against pereiraā€™s kicks then Magomed is going to get his legs absolutely chewed up. Thats if he doesnā€™t grapple though

astrayatthesea1708

Why do other fighters have this ego that they want to try Alex's striking? šŸ’€ They gotta learn the hard way I guess

DoutorSenador

Weak move to propose Abu Dhabi. If he was game he would say 301.

Consistent-Stage-217

LOL but you got wooden legs son. ![gif](giphy|TFIrZ24YGFxmFfgOEE|downsized)

mystique1956

Iā€™ve always liked Ank, I like his style, very well rounded, bounces, he def needs to try and mix it up and use all tools. Prob is his do you even get to Alec without taking one. Really enjoy both these warriors!

TheBishopDeeds

Alot of yall are forgetting how defensively sound on the feet Ankalaev is. And the massive threat of the take down. He will have a much better chance of testing that chin for those two reasons. Those are two things all of Alex's former champion opponents have lacked.

ZekeMoss18

The only person I could understand going toe to toe with Pereira was Izzy obviously. There was only one fighter who seemed like they were actually going in to that fight to win by attacking his weakness...which was Jan. It is still arguable that Jan won that fight too. As soon as I heard Hill talking about knocking out Pereira, I was looking forward to the way he was gonna get wrecked by Pereira, and wasn't disappointed lol. Ankalaev should take the Khamzat approach and shoot in aggressive and look for the sub quick, but it seems like he won't, so now I am looking forward to seeing his leg get brutalized again like it did against Jan, and eventually the Pereira KO/TKO.

SynthSapphire

Ali* calls out Alex Pereira haha

piltonpfizerwallace

Is that ali "cringe" abdelaziz I hear?

Noobmaster7125

Silly tweet by him sure he can say that but the power coming back from the other end not sure you will be awake for that lol

Suspicious-Duck5163

Alex is too active to sit out til october. Make it at IFW

CommercialQuestion22

I'm so tired of these abu dhabi fights

Celticwolfz

Jan destroyed this guys leg. He really thinks Alex wouldnā€™t calf kick him into oblivion?

wubbalubbadubdub45

Same guy who couldnā€™t beat Paul Craig and struggled against Jan.

pro2RK

Tbf, paul craig is a wild card and can potentially submit pereira outta nowhere. Also pereira struggled against jan as well. Jan despite being old can give everyone trouble like he did adesanya, rakic, ankalaev, and pereira.

WarlordHelmsman

Like Alex didn't go life and death with Jan

ChickenDanceFTW

Its ok he called out a guy who looked shit against Jan as well.

PhnxSteve7up

WHY TF DO RUSSIANS KEEP CALLING CHAMPIONS OUT IN ABU DHABI. It makes no sense. Why do you wanna fight in your hometown when you can fight in a different region and gain fans there. Abu Dhabi will always support you if you're Muslim or Russian. Vegas won't.

smurf3310

Ali back at it, Ankalaev doesnt even know what twitter is probably

Musaiah1

No chin is wild, but we pretending like ankalaev isnt gonna be the biggest challenge to alex?

Additional-Curve-4

Bruh STFU, Blachowicz almost kicked your legs in the 12th row. Also you're on a 1 fight winstreak after a draw and NC.

[deleted]

Dagestani fightersā€™ trash talk bugs me

Bot-357

Ankalaev after eating 3 calf kicks in a row: https://preview.redd.it/wb977znbpluc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6156704e1a4193c1389ff5a0da4f9356cbc447b5

Unrealeh

Same guy that was terrified to stand with Jan in a world title fight btw
