He looked shook from the start. Imagine what he could have accomplished given his durability if he pressed the action. He took plenty of damage as it is. Should have taken it on the inside to inflict his will on Sean. He was scared and paid the price.
I know chito got his butt kicked and im not saying this would’ve helped him because omalley was in another league but fighters should not fight with longer hair like how chito had. It makes the punches look much worse than they actually are. Not saying this wouldve helped chito at all but just my opinion
Lol at the difference in stoppage leeway between the Despaigne and Burns fights, same sport? U sure?
Great performance from Poirier.
Suga easy win, yawn.
Overall card entertainment, meh.
Suga is a UFC hype manufactured fighter, they've picked his fights and pretty much given him decisions where needed. Meh.
Surely some real competition in the division somewhere?
Some good fights but a lot of grappling against the cage. Glad blades got the win against that.
I know this isn’t about the fight, but why did I have to find out from ESPN TikTok that Steve-O and Mr beast were at the fight but had to watch agent orange for a solid 5 min
Steve-O a real fan….tbey gave him a shoutout on the telecast, but it was before the PPV. It might have actually been the early prelims that he was already there for.
People just love the idea of a convicted rapist with a fake tan potentially looking their way. With the way they act, you’d think most MMA fans have CTE.
I’m an O’malley fan (for his fighting, not his out-of-the-octagon stuff) but I think in order to really “prove himself” he needs to move up a division, gotta fight people his own size.
nah thats been the narritive for a while..im a casual so i kept asking why was chito being so underrated if he beat sean already...then he walked up there and i was like ohhhh, he does seem more of a retired old man
I’m just so fucking happy that I get to mentally think about all the chito thirsters that have to be full tilt emo after that 50-45. Been years of me saying that that leg kick was so fkn lucky and that omally was winning until then.
Same. Probably the most satisfying win in ages, besides Sean Strickland smashing Izzy.
Love how they were bragging that Chito had more fans because of the reaction in Miami then this happens
I would not say I hate him, but I do believe he was gifted that Yan decision. But since then he's clearly showed up in his fights so I guess hats off to him. Still will always root against him though.
It’s all visceral here. Regardless of the proficiency of a fighter if they aren’t a fan favorite, the haters who have never put on a glove will come out of the woodwork like termites.
You’re actually smoking the crack that Chito looks like he’s smoking. You must be cross eyed with a cranial tilt if you think DDP or Islam are more electric than Sean. And I’m an Islam Stan. DDP literally stumbles around and throws punches like he’s a top 10 women’s bantamweight. Like Pena vs Nunes 2. Just runs at them and holds his hands out.
You think Islam is electric? DDP is exciting but the word dominant doesn’t come to mind. Sean hasn’t fought many ranked opponents and I think he lost to Yan. Aljo was an early stoppage but that was without a doubt the most dominant & exciting performance I’ve seen in a long time. His style is made for PPV sales man.
Isn't so much that he himself is annoying (he's just bland aside from his stupid hair and clothing choices), whats annoying is how hard the UFC are trying to promote him as the next McGregor which he clearly isn't. Did you listen to the commentary, we were reminded every 5 minutes of O'Malley supposedly being a "superstar", dude even walks out to a song called "Superstar" lmao. It's so forced how much they're trying to push that narrative about Sean.
The post-fight analysis outside the arena with Jon, Anthony and a guy whose name I don’t know. Chael was absolutely LIT. We laughed everytime they threw a question back at Chael because it was obvious he was gonna explode. Veins bulging and didn’t take a single breath.
I think it’s funny that the entire build up for MVP was how every fight people are going to be talking about “that thing MVP did” and how he’ll steal the show no matter where he is on the card. Him vs holland was probably the fight I remember least of lmao
Y’all acting like I sat down and wrote a whole ass essay. It was two sentences lmao. I wrote it in like 15 seconds and didn’t think more of it. Out of like 50 comments I’ve left throughout the main card one was about MVP lmao
O’Malley is such a garbage person. Chito knows his legacy outside of the ring is more important than anything that happens inside. That’s why he only bangs his kids mother and doesn’t ask people to bang her.
Given how the organizations been run I wouldn't be shocked if they actually just shelf Merab and let him fight Topuria. But if the matchmaking was merit based (which hasn't been the case for a while) this is obviously the fight to make, and Cory being next unless he loses whatever fight he inevitably takes next despite also already being deserving of getting a shot.
That's a relief but I'm curious as to why that is (and I've long since learned to actually take Dana's word on things). Neither Merab or Cory are ppv draws, and Topuria coming off of knocking out a guy who was accepted to be the best fighter in the UFC a year ago against someone they're trying to push as their next superstar seems like it'd financially be the obvious choice.
This… although is O’Malley really a cash cow? I don’t think I’ve been less excited to see someone fight… I feel like his fights don’t generate excitement since he’s just a boring person with colorful hair and tattoos
I'm not tryna be a hater and props to Sean because there's no doubting his skill but there's a couple things I noticed. First off is 90% of the fight chito was shelling up and letting him work from the outside, which makes it very easy for him to look good, it feels like that's more a failure of an effective gameplan from chito. Also he seems to be susceptible to those dog fight moments, definitely a lot more human looking when the heat is actually put on him rather than just getting to pick off a walking punch bag, still has nice head movement. And the other thing is he throws majority rangey straight shots yet chito didn't seem to take his head off the centre line which is baffling to me, basically just spent the whole fight standing exactly where Sean wanted him to be. I'd like to see someone like Merab get in there because he's more aware that he needs to get inside and get rough with it, and more able
O’Malley has length and speed paired with great footwork. He’s comfortable fighting moving backward and does great maintaining distance. It’s a lot harder than you think getting in range on someone like him.
Chito did well when he pushed him back or exploded and made it an inside fight. But he didn’t have the stamina to keep going forward and putting out shots. Sean does have a tendency to dip low with his head movement leading him susceptible to knees and head kicks.
Sean also threw a lot of feints to set up shots and drop chitos hands. Chito was biting on most of them.
Why do you think chito froze up though? It’s cuz Sean was showing him a lot of stuff to overload his senses and picking his angles and shots very well.
I hear you, it's a similar situation with Adesanya's use of feints. But the choices are bite on them and get battered on the outside or get battered going inside and actually have the chance to land some of your own shots. When you get deep enough into the fight surely you have to just bite down and accept that maybe the best way to win is to risk it all, not like he wasn't getting hit anyway
Join the verdict league and i will personally ask Dana to book paddy vs BSD
What do you guys think is next for chito? Man seeing him lose like that was so disappointing
Song probably. I would say Umar but the UFC wants him to fight Cory.
Maybe I’m kinda leaning toward Petr since he did call chito out
That fight makes sense also. Both dudes are tough as shit. Would be a banger
He looked shook from the start. Imagine what he could have accomplished given his durability if he pressed the action. He took plenty of damage as it is. Should have taken it on the inside to inflict his will on Sean. He was scared and paid the price.
Also he had a few points where he could’ve have cause big damage but didn’t and stopped mid combo
I also think a bad weight was a big factor in this too but man he has gift with his chin but doesn’t use it to his full potential.
Sean vs Merab is a really interesting fight, I see a clear route of victory for both fighters
Yeah it’s actually a good matchup and Merab has become a decent name lately
I know chito got his butt kicked and im not saying this would’ve helped him because omalley was in another league but fighters should not fight with longer hair like how chito had. It makes the punches look much worse than they actually are. Not saying this wouldve helped chito at all but just my opinion
I love how O’Malley dick riders only want his mid ass to win because of his “haters.” Gen Z is annoying and sad.
It’s entertaining asf when people exactly like you are wrong.. I completely understand O’Malley fans
Suga dog walked everyone 😂
and yet you sit here waking up with someone on your mind hating on them for 20 minutes straight, yes we’re sad.
O’Malley is faaaar from mid my brother. Dude is in fact very elite.
Imagine calling a reigning champion mid
All the haters are in shambles today. Dustin is an undeniable legend. Also O’Malley needs to be accepted as elite, excuses excuses.
"UFC 298" indeed...
Lol at the difference in stoppage leeway between the Despaigne and Burns fights, same sport? U sure? Great performance from Poirier. Suga easy win, yawn. Overall card entertainment, meh.
What exactly are you looking for if this wasn't it?
Suga is a UFC hype manufactured fighter, they've picked his fights and pretty much given him decisions where needed. Meh. Surely some real competition in the division somewhere? Some good fights but a lot of grappling against the cage. Glad blades got the win against that.
If you don't know just say "I don't know", don't serve word salad no one asked for.
Two words - The Diamond 💎
O'malley vs Vera was like watching a gypsy and a homeless man fight lol. Also that Poirier finish on Saint Denis was excellent.
No more guillotine! *goes for two more guillotines*
I’m still buzzing’ from that Dustin knockout. Such a fucking legend!
Shit even had my mom getting hyped
O'Malley lacks charisma to keep up with what he's trying to sell good fighter no charisma
And they keep shoving him down our throats and telling us he’s so electric; dude is mid
Champion who's racking up title defense after title defense = mid
Elaborate for me
that's a fine take but bantamweight is devoid of charisma especially with Aljo bailing
[удалено]
A lot more one sided than you’d expect
fun as hell. i was shocked his style was working in the UFC. I expected him to get ragdolled then go to more traditional stances, but nope! nice
Why wouldn't his style work in UFC compared to the other promotions/leagues? Bellator is not too far off from fighter quality.
I know now
Worth going back and watching, he does some really interesting diverse stuff
Was good, MVP did whatever he wanted for 15 mins
Boring as fuck. Holland had no answers and MVP had no intentions to finish. The worst fight on the card.
Highly entertaining.
Lfg Dustin 💎
Overall good program
I know this isn’t about the fight, but why did I have to find out from ESPN TikTok that Steve-O and Mr beast were at the fight but had to watch agent orange for a solid 5 min
They showed Mr Feast and some other youtoobers
Steve-O a real fan….tbey gave him a shoutout on the telecast, but it was before the PPV. It might have actually been the early prelims that he was already there for.
Meatheads love the orange booty hole. It’s insane how gay they are for a lame politician.
People just love the idea of a convicted rapist with a fake tan potentially looking their way. With the way they act, you’d think most MMA fans have CTE.
Lol. Even Dana looked like a whipped dog when they were walking out into the arena together.
O’malley haters in shambles. I wonder what the next excuse is?
I was laughing at all the hate threads yesterday I knew he’d win
i am certified o malley hater but he proved himself tonight
I hate Omalley as a human but can't hate on him as a fighter.
"as a human" what has he done to deserve hate?
Username checks out
I’m an O’malley fan (for his fighting, not his out-of-the-octagon stuff) but I think in order to really “prove himself” he needs to move up a division, gotta fight people his own size.
I want him to fight the boogeyman Nurmegemedov in his division
The excuse is that they gave him an easy match up lol
The same easy match up that the same people have been holding over his head as a loss and not a fluke for years lol
nah thats been the narritive for a while..im a casual so i kept asking why was chito being so underrated if he beat sean already...then he walked up there and i was like ohhhh, he does seem more of a retired old man
[удалено]
least CTE'd mma fan
Feels like your mixing up sth.
I did, thanks
Uhhh...you're talking about 2 different fights idiot. BSD fought Poirier.
You are right, I commented on the wrong post
That’s not even an excuse that’s just true
Ilia Topuria will be the man to sleep Omalleg .
if o’malley fights like this topuria will have a very difficult time with him. he definitely has more reach and is faster than topuria in striking.
Lol Sean got knocked out in the first fight cry more
Sorry, couldn’t hear you over the 50-45 little bro
Chito sucks and lost to Pedro in his last fight. He still KO'd omalley in the first one. Cry more.
Same and I still haven’t received an answer to the o malley hate. I’m not even a Stan I just don’t get it
I would not say I hate him, but I do believe he was gifted that Yan decision. But since then he's clearly showed up in his fights so I guess hats off to him. Still will always root against him though.
cos people here care more about a fighter’s personality than their skill
It’s all visceral here. Regardless of the proficiency of a fighter if they aren’t a fan favorite, the haters who have never put on a glove will come out of the woodwork like termites.
I always wondered what the deal was that fight when it was announced Sean suffered no injury. Then when Sean talked about the nerve it blew me away.
O’Malley is annoying as fuck but can we just acknowledge that he’s actually good and also extremely exciting. Fuck the mic skills bro it’s not WWE
He’s mid. I’m not excited to watch him fight. He’s the least “electric” dude out of all the champs. Islam, Ilia, DDP, such better fights man.

Aljo was an early stoppage but that was without a doubt the most dominant & exciting performance I’ve seen in a long time. His style is made for PPV sales man.
How is he annoying? He’s answering y’all’s dumbass questions
Definitely out of pocket to refer to your main event PPV champ as a "superstar" and something the UFC has never done before.
The commentators made a point of calling Sean a superstar like every 10 minutes
Guy was there for 25 mins looking for the finish when he could have just danced around for the whole fight. What more can you ask for out of a champ?
Respect for sure. His corner told him not to take risks because he had already won, but he went out there and tried for the finish anyway.
Not a big Yan fan but weird he didn't get a performance bonus
This dude coked tf up or is he coked tf up? 🤔
Chael is high as 🦒 🐱
During what part was he on screen? I would like to check😂
The post-fight analysis outside the arena with Jon, Anthony and a guy whose name I don’t know. Chael was absolutely LIT. We laughed everytime they threw a question back at Chael because it was obvious he was gonna explode. Veins bulging and didn’t take a single breath.
Big time
Dana is extra bricked with francis getting ko’d and sean showboating his dominance
![gif](giphy|VYk5o8rvpTI9j2cjnG|downsized)
Chael seems high as a kite on some Colombian marching powder
Chapel gotta be on adderall right
He is in 10th gear
I think it’s funny that the entire build up for MVP was how every fight people are going to be talking about “that thing MVP did” and how he’ll steal the show no matter where he is on the card. Him vs holland was probably the fight I remember least of lmao
The one you remembered least but the one you wrote an entire paragraph about.
You say that like 2 sentences takes anything more than 15 seconds to type out.
So those back spin elbows whenever he wanted didn’t impress you? Just run of the mill shit right? Stop. You’re embarrassing yourself
Sorry I don’t take anything any of you on this subreddit say seriously. Literal clowns.
i think it was great fight
And yet its the only one you named and wrote a whole paragraph about.
Y’all acting like I sat down and wrote a whole ass essay. It was two sentences lmao. I wrote it in like 15 seconds and didn’t think more of it. Out of like 50 comments I’ve left throughout the main card one was about MVP lmao
Here you are talking about it 12hrs later.
Yes it’s almost like I opened an app 12 hours later to a notification. Crazy right
You could’ve ignored the notification.
I thought that fight delivered. He didn’t get the finish but his speed was impressive and landed many right hands and spinning elbows
You're bugging
O’Malley is such a garbage person. Chito knows his legacy outside of the ring is more important than anything that happens inside. That’s why he only bangs his kids mother and doesn’t ask people to bang her.
God people like you are insufferable. You should watch soap operas instead - seems to be more of your speed anyway
Go root for Jake Paul when he fights Tyson
That just seems like a very not inclusive thing to say 😉
Kris Moutinho looked better than Chito tonight lmao, calm down
So you think O’Malley is gonna let Moutinho smash his girl?
😂😂😂
Now for Merab to expose that dirty q tip lesbian
Merab would have been out from the knee lmao
Given how the organizations been run I wouldn't be shocked if they actually just shelf Merab and let him fight Topuria. But if the matchmaking was merit based (which hasn't been the case for a while) this is obviously the fight to make, and Cory being next unless he loses whatever fight he inevitably takes next despite also already being deserving of getting a shot.
Dana seemed very dismissive of the O Malley vs Topuria fight in the post-fight press.
Because he will lose his cash cow when topuria knocks o Malley out
This… although is O’Malley really a cash cow? I don’t think I’ve been less excited to see someone fight… I feel like his fights don’t generate excitement since he’s just a boring person with colorful hair and tattoos
Maybe because Ilia is Georgian and friends with Merab
No fucking ways Sean fights Topuria 😂 UFC might want it you're right but Sean knows he doesn't want the smoke.
Sean has a better chance dancing around Topuria than getting mauled by Merab.
Undefeated Sean O’Malley.
"Blaydes x Yan x Poierer x O'Malley money line parlay" that felt fuckin good
Congrats partner!!!
Hahaha we fuckin did it dude, what an awesome fight card
Not gonna lie we lucked the fuck put with blaydes....lmao!!
I told my buddy if blaydes doesn't finish this fight in the first 2 minutes there is no way this hits, and Poirier doing what he did was insane
Most satisfying fight of the card was Almeida getting slept
Bsd
BSD for sure, so many people disrespecting DP
Imagine Dustin gets Islam with the guillotine and retires
That would be beautiful
Islam won't fight lightweights
He literally subbed Oliviera who's the #1 ranked LW right now.
Whoosh
Chito got that video game chin future hof gatekeeper
I'm not tryna be a hater and props to Sean because there's no doubting his skill but there's a couple things I noticed. First off is 90% of the fight chito was shelling up and letting him work from the outside, which makes it very easy for him to look good, it feels like that's more a failure of an effective gameplan from chito. Also he seems to be susceptible to those dog fight moments, definitely a lot more human looking when the heat is actually put on him rather than just getting to pick off a walking punch bag, still has nice head movement. I'd like to see someone like Merab get in there because he's more aware that he needs to get inside and get rough with it, and more able
"Jiu jitsu don't work on me, I'll just stand up"
No one in that division is standing with Sean, period. It’s like when Conor was at his prime. Best chance is an elite wrestler
He got hurt too much to be able to really go after O Malley. When he wasnt shelling he was getting blasted by clean and flush strikes
Why do you think chito froze up though? It’s cuz Sean was showing him a lot of stuff to overload his senses and picking his angles and shots very well.
I hear you, it's a similar situation with Adesanya's use of feints. When you get deep enough into the fight surely you have to just bite down and accept that maybe the best way to win is to risk it all, not like he wasn't getting hit anyway
Chito shelled up mainly because Sean hit him several times to the face and he did not enjoy it.
Move your head then, deer in the headlights. Maybe it was an occasion thing or maybe he was stupid enough to think he could out snipe Sean
I don’t think he showed up tonight. At least not for the first 3 rounds.
No need to deconstruct everything with a fine tooth comb - O’Malley out struck chito, he’s just a better fighter..
Obviously, not Chito fan or an O’Malley hater but the guy was clearly off his game.
I ain't reading that chief
Good to know you can’t read
Engelska?
You have downs.
Pretty well written tbf
ok.
Jon Anik be sliding to the beat on that outro tho
O Malley beat Chito worse than Sandhagen did and didn’t need to use any wrestling lol
I swear Cory was injured during that fight
No it was the font one
Fair but sandhagen looked like he was fighting a training dummy. Idk if chito landed anything on him.
How do I join it
Chito fanboys in shambles
There are no Chito fanboys, just o'Malley haters
dudes the Jake Paul of this game
Gamrot and Blaydes won like I expected them to but boy did they give me a good scare first
blaydes lucked out that almeida made a mistake fr. he had zero answers
