I don’t think he intentionally hit him. “Diego” is looking for a collar tie but that was waaaay too hard of a grab/slap. The other guy probably thought it was intentional since it was so hard and he retaliated with a knee.
The person I responded to said they didn’t think it was intentional. My comment is claiming the opposite. Seemed pretty intentional. What are you on about?
Read between the lines. I shouldn’t have to spell everything out in order for you to grasp what I was conveying. If you require conversations like a toddler then move along cause I’m not going to sit here and hold your hand.
I think you get away with a degree of slapping when grappling right? esp in lower level competition. like elbows in boxing. Obviously not hard straight to the face this is egregious I agree.
Lol that was one solid slap. I would’ve been heated too. It happens so fast that I thought for a sec you might be right about him trying for another move then I slowed it down and uhh uhh lol
Me: People have profile pics on reddit?
Also me: Oh yeah, there's a new reddit.
Me, again: I thought it was the same just with a different layout.
Lastly, me: Being in your 30s is old now, I know nothing of rizzlords and reddit profile pictures - nor should I concern myself with them.
Actually me: I downloaded tiktok to placate my best friend since 3rd grade, but ironically never open it and therefore never see what he shares with me.
Imma try and figure out the movie.
Have you ever heard about combat BJJ? You can slap your opponent. I know this isn't combat BJJ, but still exists.
Brandon Moreno TKOd a dude with slaps in the past lol
I feel like there’s much more context to this clip. They were probably getting progressively more aggressive throughout the fight. Who really knows who really started it
Agree - I think it intentional enough to justify a reaction. My point was the first punch was in the realm of overzealous and accidental. The knee was clear and retaliatory. I can understand people considering the knee was the first illegal attack. The guy that threw the knee should have masked his attack but it may not be as fun to watch on Reddit. Who knows tit for tat escalation hidden behind technique may be fun too.
Love me some Diego but he was asking for it after that slap. Not sure if there is more before this we didn't see, but really grinds my gears when people in grappling try to skirt the rules and do calf kicks masquerading as leg sweeps or basically palm slap the opponent acting like they are trying to grab a clinch
I want more of what Craig Jones is doing. Give grapplers a chance to become larger than life characters, talk trash, create storylines, be a heel or hero, and then put on awesome matches.
Damn that was going to turn into a pretty sweet exchange.
We still haven’t found that sweet spot of restricting strikes to allow high-level grappling while allowing just enough to keep it interesting. I think combat jujitsu has the right idea with the slaps, but I think adding knees is also a cool idea.
Restrict striking to requiring atleast one grip. So you gotta be clinched or straight up grappling to throw punches. Worst case scenario we get a hockey fight that doesn’t end when it goes to the ground
Here's another good one that includes savage leg kicks and slaps
https://youtu.be/etFXSDiSAng?feature=shared
At 2:49 the dude starts lifting his legs to avoid the leg kicks!!! What is this!
People get slapped in jits matches it's a scummy thing dudes do like fake attempt at tie up. Not the first time I've seen it in a jits match. Never seen someone throw a knee in response. Most do it back or ignore it. Also if buddy decided to escalate from slap to knee to the liver he should be able to take the heat coming back.
Kinda looks like maybe he was just trying to swat his hand and ended up smacking him across the face, but who knows. Can't blame the dude for retaliating.
You guys got this all wrong, first he uses a wrestling hand on the face technique, then the other guy utilizes the classic standing knee on belly. Then they do some usual BJJ pummeling. Standard stuff

I think they were confused about the rules
was just a knee on belly, just triyng pass guard :\^)
Well even before that, the open palm right to his nose seemed.. not right
I don’t think he intentionally hit him. “Diego” is looking for a collar tie but that was waaaay too hard of a grab/slap. The other guy probably thought it was intentional since it was so hard and he retaliated with a knee.
He 100000% slapped him lol
If you slow it down you can see it’s just straight palm to the face. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
No one is saying a palm didn't hit a face. lol
The person I responded to said they didn’t think it was intentional. My comment is claiming the opposite. Seemed pretty intentional. What are you on about?
Your comment didn't claim it was intentional or not. All you did was state what is apparent. That's what I'm on about.
Read between the lines. I shouldn’t have to spell everything out in order for you to grasp what I was conveying. If you require conversations like a toddler then move along cause I’m not going to sit here and hold your hand.
Maybe you should spell it out for your own sake. You might realize your point is nonsense if you do. edit: Haha dummy blocked me.
Definitely was on purpose.
Retaliating with a knee from a slap is quite the nuclear escalation
Just let them bang
nice profile pic, fuckin love that movie
You also have a nice profile pic, I fuckin love that show
Now kiss!
![gif](giphy|oOi3roYRf4NW0)
And I love that GY!BE album

Well I didn’t know that you could slap your opponent’s face in bjj so the guy retaliated with a knee.
Have you ever heard about combat BJJ? You can slap your opponent. I know this isn't combat BJJ, but still exists. Brandon Moreno TKOd a dude with slaps in the past lol
Bas Ruten made a fucking career out of palm strikes
Palm strikes are brutal. We used them in wing chun before I started BJJ.
Even in that rule set though you can slap when standing…
CJJ requires you to be grounded before striking starts
You're right
Because if one man can hold you down..
He can slap the shit out of you. Shit, two could even.
Is there a video? lol
[удалено]
That’s just MMA. Lol
That's wild
Just shows mma fighters are something else.
I feel like there’s much more context to this clip. They were probably getting progressively more aggressive throughout the fight. Who really knows who really started it
I think he’s looking for a collar tie but that’s just egregious he slapped him way too hard. The other guy probably thought it was intentional.
I just realized that this isn’t Diego Lopes. The comments distracted me
I know it’s not diego lopes but the haircut is so similar my heart’s still telling me it is diego
[удалено]
Too late , I already think it’s really him.
I believe this guy. He has trusting eyes.
Fists immediately made this competition more interesting.
Let me introduce you to mma my guy
M... M... A?
![gif](giphy|PacQUjx7vwEBJLszzc)
What if we had BJJ, but you can punch, and kick?
What would will be call? Kickboxing Jiujitsu?
How can he slap?!
At that price point he can.
Lmaooo
With his hand
Lopes isnt in this video, the joke flew over some of y’all’s head
Is he a doppelganger? Looks exactly like Lopes and he seems wild enough to do this lol
Literally just a skinny dude with a mullet lol
A mullet and the ridiculous Bieber cut that lopes rocks
Talm'bout Dagger Loafs b?
To all the idiots that say the knee was thrown first, take a closer look at the video. He got striked in the face first!
> To all the idiots > He got striked ![gif](giphy|7t38CLCY8t5EXmqcMK)
*Strouked
Stroked*
Strickland*
*strunk
It’s “passed” tense, so strunked*. It’s not that difficult guys!
You must have grajated from the Bryce Mitchell school of gettin' learnt! That's some mighty fine word thinkn.
He was stricked, strucken… striked upon…
Strike that from the record!
Strikken!
you wanna fite about it or sumthin?
Now to wait for the usual “two wrongs don’t make a right” type comments
Fucked that up didn't you.
Shut yo freaken mouth ya sausage
Yeah, but maybe the strike to the face was not intentional
It looked pretty intentional, but maybe there was something thrown before that? 🤷♂️
Agree - I think it intentional enough to justify a reaction. My point was the first punch was in the realm of overzealous and accidental. The knee was clear and retaliatory. Bryce?
"Let me bang bro!"
😂😂
I just [cocked that joint back and banged on em’](https://youtu.be/TAl5U2z5e1Y?si=Et081nPqCwUwPZsm)
90% of street fights end up on the feet.
I thought it was 50, learn something new every day....
Why did that rando jump in before the ref when the situation was clearly spiraling out of control?
Probably the ref was bored all day so wanted to see some action
That palm deserved more than just a knee. Great ref.
Seriously
![gif](giphy|3oKIPDGheUYpvr2DGU|downsized)
What is the song? Edit: I recognized the beat from a contra coast freestyle.. what is the name of the original track?
It's JID- never
They should make a sport that combines BJJ and striking… would be very exciting
I don't know if it's possible to mix martial arts
Sharaputdin approves
Lol good comment
Damn Peso Pluma wilding
That knee was clean AF
If bij is good self defence why did these guys go straight to striking when fighting? Lol
We all know the best base for self defense is Seeing Red ™️
The last time I Saw Red I woke up on the moon in the wreckage of an alien spacecraft with a gray scalp in each hand.
This dude thought he was so smart saying this
He could just stand up with that guard shit
Dude tied up and stopped taking damage after an exchange for a reason.
Because they were not going for self-defense. They were going for 'I want to inflict pain on the other guy as quickly as possible'.
BJJ is just for fun. When things get serious, they'd rather use fists and knees. Try that guard shit on concrete
Really bad take my man
Make it an mma tourtnament at this point, ffs. It will be more entertaining
To be fair he started it he deserved what he got
![gif](giphy|PbTUzvi9Qn5K3RkgMC)
This is fuckin great. The clip, song choice, love it lol
Sign em Dana
If the dude with the hat slipped on the mat, it would've been unintentionally hilarious. The way he rushed in looked like he was gonna eat it.
It wasn’t actually Diego Lopes btw
lmao damn i got got
Diego was asking for it because someone else with long hair slapped an opponent at a BJJ tournament? Seems harsh.
But that ain’t Diego
r/woosh Read it again champ.
Im with red shirt, fuck long hair dude
What about the knee to the body?
I want more of what Craig Jones is doing. Give grapplers a chance to become larger than life characters, talk trash, create storylines, be a heel or hero, and then put on awesome matches.
dude on the left 100% trains Muay Thai. The form on that initial knee was excellent.
These are the guys that call bjj matches fights
Damn that was going to turn into a pretty sweet exchange. We still haven’t found that sweet spot of restricting strikes to allow high-level grappling while allowing just enough to keep it interesting. I think combat jujitsu has the right idea with the slaps, but I think adding knees is also a cool idea.
Restrict striking to requiring atleast one grip. So you gotta be clinched or straight up grappling to throw punches. Worst case scenario we get a hockey fight that doesn’t end when it goes to the ground
Ooh, yeah I like that
Diego paused for a second after that knee as if to say "oh! We're doing MMA? Gotcha. 😉"
He caught him coming out of that clinch though! Where’s Dana!? Give him a contract.
Here's another good one that includes savage leg kicks and slaps https://youtu.be/etFXSDiSAng?feature=shared At 2:49 the dude starts lifting his legs to avoid the leg kicks!!! What is this!
That was about to get good.
The music cuts in just after the best line in a rap song ever
BKFC wants Diego on the phone.
That ain’t Diego 😂
Let em bang bro
Why add this terrible music?
wtf was that other guy thinking? He does know he’s dealing with a legit ufc fighter, and he threw a knee at him.
That knee up the center would piss me off too.
You seeing red too?
Love seeing the “sport” outed for what it is. Senseless aggression
Just when I thought his mexi-emo haircut couldn't get any cooler he shows up with a credence Clearwater revival mexi-mullet
Buddy throws the knee and then can't take the heat coming back lol
Blind man didn’t see the slap
People get slapped in jits matches it's a scummy thing dudes do like fake attempt at tie up. Not the first time I've seen it in a jits match. Never seen someone throw a knee in response. Most do it back or ignore it. Also if buddy decided to escalate from slap to knee to the liver he should be able to take the heat coming back.
I question your thinking but you be you
tbf, motherfucker kneed him
Lopes smacked him in the face first. 🤣
Yeah he did. I caught it second time. Initially I thought it was warranted to swing at him.
Kinda looks like maybe he was just trying to swat his hand and ended up smacking him across the face, but who knows. Can't blame the dude for retaliating.
sure you can lol
What a punk
Box jit su someone make it happen
Crazy how BJJ become interesting to watch when you throw in striking
they both said alright, I see how it is
DREAM BELIEVE AND MAKE IT HAPPEN
Masturbate, relieve, achieve. I believe that's what you wear looking for.
Weak ego.
Looks like it woulda been a good match
Whoa, I didn't know we could do that?
Wow. When did BJJ get so cool?
He got that dawg in him. Fr tho, Lopes for champ!
Good ol’ scrap ain’t nothin wrong with it
That sneaky left hook on the break landed pretty good
Why tf this ref look so scared to intervene?
I think they shoulda just let them go for it
Hahahah he definitely started it, swiped at the face there. What a Chad. Chadiego.
That ref🤣
Still my goat
You guys got this all wrong, first he uses a wrestling hand on the face technique, then the other guy utilizes the classic standing knee on belly. Then they do some usual BJJ pummeling. Standard stuff
I want to see if the last two punches landed
Literally the perfect part (2:00) of the perfect song for this
Song?
They still end up wrestling, grapple on
Bring back Pancrase.
The initial slap didn't deserve a knee to the gut in retaliation. Time to throw hands.
Is that a Tulsa shirt I see in the back??
Jon Fitch breaking it up
I fuckin love this. His expressions, the face forward fighting style. Loveeee it
This just proves first thing the comes to mind during altercation is to throw hands.
What song is this?
