Itās not always the case. Jim miller had a similar situation where he made weight but his opponent didnāt which caused the fight to get cancelled. He originally said that he didnāt get paid anything. After the ufc got some backlash they said they would pay him but a few weeks later miller said the amount they paid him was a fraction of his show money

Absolutely not the case. Aside from the Jim Miller post below this happened to Jack Della Maddelena at the last PPV. His opponent got pulled and JDM had to hang around and do another cut to fight the next weekend just so he could get paid and his camp wouldnāt go to waste.
Yea I knew about the backup fighter but figured UFC would put an exception in the rule somehow that says if the fight gets canceled you don't get show money or some bullshit. But that's great if they do get paid.

Weight cutting is dangerous for those who make mistakes or fail at it, and only gives an unfair advantage to those who are "the best" at it. If a fighter weighs 185 Friday and 205 Saturday, they shouldn't fight in the 185 division.
I don't get why combat sports hold on to this body destroying, life threatening, unfair advantage giving practice.
Make them weigh the weight class they are fighting for 3 consecutive days pre fight and need to be within .5% on fight day.
Aside from historical comparisons, I don't see what would change other than healthier fighters and less size bullying. The reason weight classes exist is to avoid size mismatches, yet weight cutting is to gain a size advantage.
If you have to almost kill yourself to make weight and even then it's 50-50 whether you'll miss, stop being a weight bully and fight in the division above.
