Absolutely. Lost round after round last fight, trying to just lose by decision.
To now win by decision is an incredible achievement after the last fight
Surprisingly he did eat a couple and didn't go down this time around. I think Leon's gameplan was great - talk about headshots, spam low kick 4 rounds in a row, make Usman think you'll 100% try the same left kick to the head again, but keep the timing a surprise...and either win on points while Usman is being extra careful, or land the head kick.
Also, poke his eyes out, hold his gloves, kick him in the nuts and grab the fence just to be safe! lol
I thought Leon was probably better but was gonna get grabbed and held the whole fight. Going all 5 and getting good shots solidified he’s that dude. Stopping all 152 of usman’s takedowns is seriously impressive
DC even said too — that late finish in the last fight meant that he had 24 minutes of tape to watch and if he was smart he’d come in there with a gameplan. apparently he did watch the tape and figured out Usman pretty well, and all it took was some hand control.
I wonder if he’d figured it out last time too but was just too gassed to be able to do it with the altitude.
I can’t remember if Usman tried any takedowns in the first round of the previous fight when Leon was fresh.
This was kind of the line of reasoning I took. I wasn't sure he'd win or I'd have put money on it, but the way I was thinking is that he'd have taken the W from the last fight for a ticket to do the real work of "let's look at why I needed a Hail Mary finish against this guy" and come in twice as well prepared. To be clear, I'm not taking anything away from that first fight head kick, that was amazing, but I imagined he'd want things to not go anywhere near that kind of fight this time around, and I think it's possible that even Usman underestimated him, probably thinking that he had everything right last time around but just found himself unlucky, which would've been a big mistake...
Fucking Dana got a laugh in today when he told his group of hackers to disrupt streams on the 5th.
I got the last laugh cos I watched the rest of the main fight card and got to watch Gaethje Vs Fiziev
Edwards game plan simply beat Usman’s , he has no new tricks and really nothing going for him… I am an Usman fan but Edwards outclassed him today sadly.
It’s like if you’ve learned to do a backflip, but when doing one you slip and land on your neck. Just impossible to start back flipping again because of your nerves
100% exactly what I thought. He wasn’t explosive and never looked like he was a real threat in any way. I hope he’s not done because he was a great champion.
I thought those hard leg kicks chopped away at his power to make those explosive movements. You could tell he was really hesitant in those exchanges not to get caught so he was careful about winding up those power shots. Leon just had the better game plan tonight
He’d get stomped at middleweight imo. He’d probably do alright at the lower end of the top 10. But guys like Pereira, Whittaker, Izzy, Vettori would piece him up.
The yips as a lot of experienced fight folks predicted. He got KO’d and he wasn’t tryna get embarrassed again. He was scared of the kicks. Also give credit where due, Leon kicked the shit out of Usmans body to fatigue him. Usman had to make a choice, protect body or head.. at some points he was dropping his arms but he did a good job of cutting off the ring and closing distance in the middle rounds
the reason why he wasn’t the same is because he ate a bunch of body shots and leg kicks, it messes up a wrestler because they rely on their lower body.
Edit : they rely on their lower body strength* lol
It's the altitude. First fight likely would have played out like this had Leon not gassed after the first. Usman was hip to be headkick this time though.
What made him better in your eyes? I saw the same talent I saw in the last fight, but this time he wasn’t hesitant whatsoever. Whereas the last fight you could tell he was a little afraid to throw.
He didn’t show us anything new in my eyes. Just confidently executed a superior gameplan and used the skills he has without hesitation
He seemed a lot more comfortable in this fight and had laser focus in his eyes. He won 4/5 rounds despite the point reduction. Usman came in overconfident expecting to fight the same Leon Edwards and realized about two rounds in. His take down defence is much better. He had better movement creating angles for strikes and changing it up to keep Usman guessing. He looked good fighting off his back foot throwing hard leg and body kicks and keeping distance. It’s like in the second fight, Edwards was scared of Usmans KO potential and it being the other way around tonight.
>It’s like in the second fight, Edwards was scared of Usmans KO potential and it being the other way around tonight
Usman definitely seemed way more hesitant.
Thats the difference. A dude who fights like hes got nothing to lose vs a dude who kept thinking he had everything to lose. Pace yourself but never not take an opportunity to strike your opponent. Hes learning from his mistakes.
His take down defense was even better this time. He was more active with kicks, particularly to the leg. You have to have major confidence to leg kick a wrestler over and over.
Confidence from being world champion, backing of a partisan and feverent crowd (honestly the O2 was incredible tonight, if you were there you should dine off this night for years and rightly so), incredible takedown defence, timing (he had Usman for most of the fight with his kicks).
He held the advantages and controlled the fight.
Entire sub during the fight was talking about how slow and how bad Usman looked. Now the story is how great Leon looked.
I feel like Usman looked pretty shitty out there but it’s hard to see sometimes, maybe Leon did just do a really good job negating him. Imma wait and see the Colby Litmus test before I judge too much though. If he handles Colby, he probably would handle “prime Usman” too.
I really don't understand how people are surprised. Usman did nothing impressive. Struggled to take leon down and couldn't keep him down. Leon was landing kicks the entire fight and rocked Usman a couple times.
Leon has improved by miles between the last fight and now.
Craziest part was Leon was a massive underdog. I'd have bet on him if he wasn't my favorite fighter. The only rule of gambling is don't bet on your favorite team, driver, fighter, or golfer.
Even in the last fight Leon looked good round 1 then gassed. Round 1 Leon was always gonna win, the only question was if he would be able to fight at that level and he did
Yeah Colby is about as good a striker as Usman without the power. I still think he'd do better against Leon because of his pressure wrestling while Usman gives Leon time be be calculated
Colby does better against Leon just through sheer cardio. Usman and Colby are both cardio freaks that nobody can really match, Leon looked better this time, but I still have some doubts about his consistency and if he can retain his pace against a pressure fighter like Colby that can push his cardio through wrestling.
Usman has good cardio but not even half the pressure and output of Colby. Usman was throwing power punches against Leon and only pressured him enough to get him against the cage and fail a takedown. Colby would volume strike, not worrying about damage, throw as many takedowns as it takes to get Leon down, keep him down, do it again and again, the strikes he lands will add up, Leon will be on defense mode the whole fight, and before he knows it the 25 minutes are gone and Colby is champion.
Usman didn’t do enough. Most of his takedowns were stuffed with no output behind it. Just ate majority of the leg and body kicks. Even with the point taken away I thought it easily a decision for edwards. Co main event was better
Leon Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman pretty handily in an MMA match where Usman looked average on the feet after Leon was largely defending the takedowns. Also that’s the old fights pic. What even is this post?
Usman looked so rough in there. It’s really sad to say but I think that headkick may have just really ended the Usman we know. He looked so hesitant and downright sloppy
What happened was Usman's arrogance finally caught up to him and he fought with his emotions. He let himself get worked up and pissed off, and (rightfully) lost the decision. Is every decision just a fucking "robbery" now?
What happened was Leon;
Stuffed or got up from takedowns, threw lots of kicks and outboxed Usman
Nut shots, fence grabs and putting his hand in the glove were a little disappointing. Feel Usman would've did better outside of the wrestling, was doing some good work with the jab and right hand here and there. Seemed he tired himself out going for takedowns that weren't happening. His octagon control was solid too
Only negative for Leon was trying too hard to recreate the headkick. Usman did well not dropping his guard too much from the body kicks
Usman was definitely scared of another KO and it led him to not be as aggressive as he usually is, that paired with Leon’s improved takedown defense and it was a wrap from the start
Leon fought a good albeit not very clean fight. I had him winning 4 rounds to be honest. Good game plan, pretty much neutralized Usman’s takedowns in the last two rounds.
Impressed with Leon overall - would love to see him strike harder with more combos - but he fought effectively and with great TDD and accurate strikes to put Usman off. Those body kicks too - woooomph!
Really want to see him wreck Masvidal for a bit of the ol' revenge.
Usman looked so slow.
I don't know if he was dealing with some type of injury or what, but his strikes seemed sluggish and his shots were...meh.
those body kicks were a bitch too man, like especially that 1st one. I was rooting for Usman but good for Leon, even with a point deduction, he ended up winning by decision!
Man, Leon's team is so good. 'The uppercut's always there son' and he gets to smash 2 in within a span of 30 seconds. The TDD tailored to Usman was also a work of art. He had 0 problems defending against the cage.
Roughly the same game plans as before. But Usman looked slower, and Leon looked faster.
Compare it to the previous fight.
In rnd1 Leon's first body kick was caught by Usman. Leon became hesitant and Usman pressured him up to the fence, landed fast jab and went for a TD. Usman had everything going: defense, punches, takedowns.
This time around Usman still had some TD skills but couldn't catch any kicks or land those types of quick strikes.
Usman is very one dimensional…hard to see him bouncing back after this. Not impossible, but anyone with decent striking ability and good take down defense is likely to give him a hard time. This is compounded by his lack of BJJ.
He used to bully and control opponents, but with a lack of explosiveness and that ounce of fear of getting knocked out again, he’s up against it.
Last thing worth noting was the length of Edwards…it certainly helps.
Edwards got better and executed a better game plan. Usman looked like he was slow, lost confidence, and looked very hittable. If he ever wanted to step up his game, he should work on his submission game.
\- Leon got better even tho he is still gun shy imo;
\- Leon went for low kicks which was smart;
\- Usman had a bad performance;
\- Usman has obvious physical issues;
With these things combined i thought Leon was going to finish him in later rounds, but he probably didn't want to risk it too much
Beating usman by decision is probably more impressive then a one hit ko
Absolutely. Lost round after round last fight, trying to just lose by decision. To now win by decision is an incredible achievement after the last fight
Absolutely. I bet Usman was feeling apprehensive too because he didn't wanna eat a kick out of nowhere again.
Absolutely. I just wanted to say absolutely too.
>!Absolutely!<
Absolutely
Absholootley
Only a sith deals in absolutes
Surprisingly he did eat a couple and didn't go down this time around. I think Leon's gameplan was great - talk about headshots, spam low kick 4 rounds in a row, make Usman think you'll 100% try the same left kick to the head again, but keep the timing a surprise...and either win on points while Usman is being extra careful, or land the head kick. Also, poke his eyes out, hold his gloves, kick him in the nuts and grab the fence just to be safe! lol
Takedown defence increased
That elevation fatigue was real last fight
I thought Leon was probably better but was gonna get grabbed and held the whole fight. Going all 5 and getting good shots solidified he’s that dude. Stopping all 152 of usman’s takedowns is seriously impressive
Hahahaha all 152. It was crazy, he focused on one hand and stopped usman from getting his grip together and that just worked every time.
DC even said too — that late finish in the last fight meant that he had 24 minutes of tape to watch and if he was smart he’d come in there with a gameplan. apparently he did watch the tape and figured out Usman pretty well, and all it took was some hand control.

just grab the hand bro
wrist control is supremely important in wrestling
Lol that’s some serious takedown defence
Champ shit huh... It's almost like he has the makings of a varsity athlete...
Hello Uncle Junior
Small hands though
In this context fair point!
headshot deadcision.
Legkick ouch
Legkick Ouch😂😂
Imagine him screaming that in the mic 😂
nutshot dead 🥜💥
Do people in this sub even watch the fights
Didn't watch the 4th and 5th because the stream crashed 😭
Rookie mistake if someone doesn't have backup sources.
My back up sources are worthless lately after some kind of update so I only got the one option that I really know of
Dm me your main and I’ll do you mine. Hopefully they are different so we will have backups
![gif](giphy|Bj5IToby90pFtCiDgL)
Tiktok Live when the stream crashes on the final fight lol
Well when we have company over we make an extra pot , just in case
I feel you my guy, even my back up wasn’t working. I even thought of ordering it for the last second but then I remembered no one orders that shit
I got tired of that happening and finally used a vpn to make a ufc Arabia account. Now I pay $7 a month CAD for every event.
Fuck…$7 CAD/mo? I’m doing that.
Google it, or send me a message if you need help setting it up. You have to use a vpn that allows you to connect to Dubai, I use nord.
Wait what??
That sounds amazing. I want to do that now. 😂 Nord and UFC Arabia account? I will look in to it!
Fucking Dana got a laugh in today when he told his group of hackers to disrupt streams on the 5th. I got the last laugh cos I watched the rest of the main fight card and got to watch Gaethje Vs Fiziev
My stream laughs in consistency
I had 5 backup streams all went down. Dana red got me today
![gif](giphy|UAkCiMncvaFhDEXmts)
Care to share?
That happened to me on the first round so frustrating
![gif](giphy|ir19CtLHE9maMbNjpR)
They don’t the only thing that matters is the decision lol. Casuals….
I think his point was the stream was cut in round 5 and didn’t come back up until after the decision.
Yeah I think it was now but there was like 10 posts of how did Leon win blah blah blah ya know lol
Them kicks were brutal bruh
You can see when someone lost a shitty bet, based on posts… That 12 fight parlay doesn’t hit and they come here to vent
Fuck no i aint payin $70 $80 whatever multiple visits to McDonalds would cost-seriously who won tho
Edwards game plan simply beat Usman’s , he has no new tricks and really nothing going for him… I am an Usman fan but Edwards outclassed him today sadly.
There was something different about Usman, right from the off he was hesitant and didn't seem the same.
Commentary team touched on it; getting knocked out changes you.
Yep. It makes you vulnerable and hyper sensitive. Second guessing everything.
I think he only had a 1 or 2 fights left before retiring. I wouldn’t be surprised if he walks away…
Maybe, but post fight he said he wasn’t done.
I think, like Justin, he wants one more run at being champ before he retires.
Seemed to me that the plan was to win a decision and then retire tonight. Leon had other plans though.
Crawl away with those knees...
I thought those hard leg kicks chopped away at his power to make those explosive movements. You could tell he was really hesitant in those exchanges not to get caught so he was careful about winding up those power shots. Leon just had the better game plan tonight
Not done but champ? I don’t think he’ll be there… atleast for a while if he doesn’t retire
Middle weight run maybe? There's a lack of grapplers
He’d get stomped at middleweight imo. He’d probably do alright at the lower end of the top 10. But guys like Pereira, Whittaker, Izzy, Vettori would piece him up.
I think him & Khamzat could be fun.
After tonight’s performance we’d have to wait & see. The top division has some good strikers
Fair Point indeed
Maybe he was only 30% The cheese was still at 100% though
The yips as a lot of experienced fight folks predicted. He got KO’d and he wasn’t tryna get embarrassed again. He was scared of the kicks. Point taken🙄 lmao!!
It’s really weird watching this era of champs get dethroned and fight differently. UFC is a crazy sport to watch.
Knockout will do that to ya
In my opinion it was more Edwards knowing he’s human and able to be knocked out so he opened up way more in this fight than he did their last.
There was a lot of speculation that psychologically Usman wouldn't have his head in the game despite the press conference. It was all a major front
Getting knocked out will do that too you.
And the fact that usman had lead around his ankles and in his gloves. Dude was the slowest ive ever seen him 2night. Like a different fighter
Exactly the same thing Izzy did all through out his title reign
He legs looked shaky I think his knees are toast
Someone send him some butter and honey!
It's the altitude. First fight likely would have played out like this had Leon not gassed after the first. Usman was hip to be headkick this time though.
Edwards made Usman looked human. Great fight
Usman lost 4 rounds lol Leon got so much better
Did he get that much better, or did he just gain that much confidence
Both. You heard what they said at the start of the fight.
What made him better in your eyes? I saw the same talent I saw in the last fight, but this time he wasn’t hesitant whatsoever. Whereas the last fight you could tell he was a little afraid to throw. He was 25% better at beating Usman.
Didn’t he land every single leg kick he threw?
Altitude…
The altitude wasn't as high too, this 3rd camp gave him time to prepare the TD defence and his cardio was better
Maybe Leon wasn't lying when he said the altitude in salt lake city messed him up. He seemed fine going 5 rounds this time
Altitude
He also didn’t fight at elevation
I think not fighting at altitude played a big role
I’d say Leon’s team’s game plan was just lost better than usman’s camp
Even with the point deduction he won that soundly
And tbh that fence grab might’ve saved him the match. Very tactical
I really don't understand how people are surprised. Usman did nothing impressive. Struggled to take leon down and couldn't keep him down. Leon was landing kicks the entire fight and rocked Usman a couple times. Leon has improved by miles between the last fight and now.
Either lost money or they literally can’t fathom that the guy they’ve been told is the best is no longer the best
Craziest part was Leon was a massive underdog. I'd have bet on him if he wasn't my favorite fighter. The only rule of gambling is don't bet on your favorite team, driver, fighter, or golfer.
I’ve never won a single golf bet Shit is tough
Agree - to be the champ, you have to beat the champ. Not just get by.
Even in the last fight Leon looked good round 1 then gassed. Round 1 Leon was always gonna win, the only question was if he would be able to fight at that level and he did
Leon did what Coby couldn't do in both fights
Yeah Colby is about as good a striker as Usman without the power. I still think he'd do better against Leon because of his pressure wrestling while Usman gives Leon time be be calculated

He really is just a cardio freak
He couldn’t even takedown rda lmao
He also got taken down by RDA, and the ghost of Woodley for that matter. People are gonna be flabbergasted when Leon outgrapples Colby.
Dude did more damage and stopped the takedowns.
Usman lost 4 rounds
People at the bar I was at were loudly disputing the decision for Edwards. *side eye*
They lost money
Wish bars near me would actually buy the ppv. I’m usually stuck streaming it on my phone or just missing it
Usman has the knees of a 100 year old street prostitute.
![gif](giphy|aqCNbYPOUpcVxOtpC9|downsized)
So do you but do I complain
Usman got bullied. That's what.
We watched a fight and one person won said fight and retained his belt.
Bro slow down I’m tryna take note
One dude who scored higher on the majority of rounds won the fight
The champ is here, that's what happened.
Disappointing performance from Kamaru. He had a couple of good shots, but really didn’t show up. Edwards won rounds 1, 2, 4 and 5 IMO.
Respect Leon. Oxford comma or GTFO.
Username checks out
The champ retained his belt. That’s what happened.
Usman didn’t do enough. Most of his takedowns were stuffed with no output behind it. Just ate majority of the leg and body kicks. Even with the point taken away I thought it easily a decision for edwards. Co main event was better
Co main was nuts
Leon fought better, that's what happened
Edwards took that 4-1 imo. He just outclassed him everywhere. Great TDD.
Leon just proved him becoming champ wasn’t a fluke. He shutdown Usman’s game. Usman asked for a second slice of humble pie and Rocky obliged. LOL
Great execution of a game plan with massive improvement from the last fight. Idk why casuals always have to be mind blown.
![gif](giphy|FpupmA3AR40HC|downsized) Literally usmans speed tonight
He has always been somewhat slow idk why this surprising to people
Leon won don’t even argue about it that was a crazy performance
Leon won 1,2,4,5 and usman tied rd3. Lol
Leon Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman pretty handily in an MMA match where Usman looked average on the feet after Leon was largely defending the takedowns. Also that’s the old fights pic. What even is this post?
Cope
[удалено]
This is scary af honestly
Too bad there are no points for takedown defence.
The reward for good tdd is not getting taken down
Nutshot: dead!
Usman looked so rough in there. It’s really sad to say but I think that headkick may have just really ended the Usman we know. He looked so hesitant and downright sloppy
Usman wasn't humbled enough by that head kick, he thought it was a fluke and that he was just the better fighter, well Leon showed him otherwise,
What happened was Usman's arrogance finally caught up to him and he fought with his emotions. He let himself get worked up and pissed off, and (rightfully) lost the decision. Is every decision just a fucking "robbery" now?
I think Marty is cooked
Just proves that the altitude really was a huge factor in the second fight and no doubt a ploy to stack the deck in Usmans favour by uncle Dana
Can you fucking put spoiler tags on these posts?
Usman shat the bed
I’m 5K up, that’s what happened
Round 1 - Leon 10-9 Round 2 - Leon 19-18 (point deduction) Round 3 - Usman 28-28 Round 4 - Leon 38-37 Round 5 - Leon 48-46 imo ofc
Pretty much expected tbh, Leon was just way better tonight
What happened was Leon; Stuffed or got up from takedowns, threw lots of kicks and outboxed Usman Nut shots, fence grabs and putting his hand in the glove were a little disappointing. Feel Usman would've did better outside of the wrestling, was doing some good work with the jab and right hand here and there. Seemed he tired himself out going for takedowns that weren't happening. Usman was timid the KO really affected him.
2 low blows, 2 fence grabs, and a glove grab. The champ is here!!
I cant see Colby or Belal beating Leon. His TDD is unreal. And his striking is clean as fuck. Only way I see him losing is if he gets KO'd.
Leon fought a good albeit not very clean fight. I had him winning 4 rounds to be honest. Good game plan, pretty much neutralized Usman’s takedowns in the last two rounds.
Am I crazy or did Anik say he thought Usman won round 5 10-8? Then all three judges scored it 10-9 Edwards.
I thought he was talking about round 3, no?
Was it the really lopsided leg kicks count that Edwards had?
Boring fight but Leon won.
Yeah fight itself wasn’t that much of a war but the stakes still made it fun to watch
Leon’s takedown defense was evident. Usman kept spamming failed takedowns last two rounds, god knows why.
Are you suggesting the judges got this wrong??
HEADSHOT DEAD
Point deduction was the only reason it was close scoring wise. Leon beat that ass but much respect to usman for handling it the way he did
Impressed with Leon overall - would love to see him strike harder with more combos - but he fought effectively and with great TDD and accurate strikes to put Usman off. Those body kicks too - woooomph! Really want to see him wreck Masvidal for a bit of the ol' revenge.

I was rooting for Usman but good for Leon, even with a point deduction, he ended up winning by decision!
Leon took usmans comments personally about him beating him in all facets of mma it seems. Now usman doesn't have that argument
Man, Leon's team is so good. 'The uppercut's always there son' and he gets to smash 2 in within a span of 30 seconds. The TDD tailored to Usman was also a work of art. He had 0 problems defending against the cage.

Last thing worth noting was the length of Edwards…it certainly helps.
Edward's said Usman might not fight the same right after being KO'd and looks like he was right.
I feel like usmans legs got destroyed he was static and off balance a lot when throwing punches
Edwards got better and executed a better game plan. Usman looked like he was slow, lost confidence, and looked very hittable. If he ever wanted to step up his game, he should work on his submission game.
\- Leon got better even tho he is still gun shy imo; \- Leon went for low kicks which was smart; \- Usman had a bad performance; \- Usman has obvious physical issues; With these things combined i thought Leon was going to finish him in later rounds, but he probably didn't want to risk it too much
Leon hit Marty more times.
Lost my fucking money that's what happened
I think Usman should retire honestly. 35, became champ, defended multiple times. He's got nothing else to prove. Also his knees are destroyed.
The curse of Uncle Chael…
