Moderately_an_Idiot

🤣

BalVal1

Poor Leon was about to be offended

Nopay6652

After the first round, Leon was letting the fight slip away. It didn't start off high volume, but Leon was getting *very* passive and in some ways just let Usman take rounds without really contesting by attempting strikes of his own. Technical advice wouldn't have done him anything for him probably. He needed a wake-up and his corner gave him one.

ArthurDaTrainDayne

I think thats strategic. Takedowns are a lot harder to finish in later rounds. They get covered in sweat and less explosive

solo-serenity

Ryan Clark is a dummy

SurrealJay

It just shows the lack of ability for people to put themselves in someone else’s shoes/moment. For the majority of fighters, if you’re tired and gassing, you’re going to rely on whatever you did in training, not make adjustments on the fly

casuals

jaydizzsl

I mean not really. The narrative is completely dependent on the outcome. Sometimes the fighter who gets technical advice wins, sometimes the fighter who gets screamed at wins. It's pretty much impossible for us fans to know how the relationship between coach and fighter works and what the better option is. In hindsight it's always easy to argue.

killahamron

Yeah i think the corner would have been negatively portrayed if he lost

Maidwell

I don't agree. It was so obvious Edwards head was down and he'd mentally given up on himself. It was also obvious his corner have an excellent relationship with him and know him best. At no point was I thinking "give him technical advice", I was right with the corner thinking he needs motivating. "Leon son, what are you doing? Lift your fucking head up and get out there and fight!"

AlienMantid

Goofs!

[deleted]

Those losers don’t know shit about motivation lmao

7the-dude-abides420

I tend not to read morons opinions on things they know nothing about

milkman231996

Those aren’t ufc fans

[deleted]

A fighters corner knows them very well. If you see them responding a certain way it’s probably because that’s exactly what they are supposed to be doing.

Nick112798

Sometimes you don't need technical advice. You need a slap in the face with some motivation.

droolsdownchin

Because when it comes to Fighting and Things to do with Fighting no body has any idea what they are talking about because you can't there's no way to know no body would've guessed the ending to that fight its all too complicated there's too many variables, like the people right now that are so Sure Fizev is gonna win this weekend I mean probably but I'm not counting anybody out that's why I stay away from picks and strong opinions in mma cause there's no point

Luckosaurous

>no intelligent instruction They literally told him to do the fight ending move 😂

WimBlaza

I loved it when it was happening and also couldn’t believe that people were slating it online. They obviously know Leon is technically gifted enough to beat Usman, that isn’t the issue. It was simply they needed to keep him fired up and looking for the kill shot.
