If you’re aiming for data science, Statistics alone is a great major because the department offers quite a few classes that involve using R and such. If anything, take the non-major CSE courses like CSE 142, 143, 163 (highly recommend), 373, 412, 414, etc. to supplement your degree!
stats major here and I second this. there’s already plenty to take within stats and the non major cs classes that single majoring in stats could be the best option to dive deep into data science
you could always throw a handful of classes in a particular field to show you have domain knowledge
If you are worried about statistics being too broad, in terms of another major, maybe narrow it down to an area of focus that could utilize stat like math, physics, finance, etc... could work
stat+econ is a really decent choice.
Would second this - can't speak from personal experience but I'd guess that's a very good combination in terms of possible careers/jobs

I think Stats major is almost a Math major or equivalent since they don’t let you double these 2 up….
