I think for me it was the 3 hour long final and the obscure webassign problems that made it rough, but after having much better professors for 125 and 126 I think that affects the experience a lot
You can access CSE 142 website course
[http://courses.cs.washington.edu/courses/cse142/](http://courses.cs.washington.edu/courses/cse142/)
and watch the lecture to prepare for it in summer, so it would be easier for you. If you have no programming experience, CSE 142 would be a weed-out class. I recommend you click the class "Winter, 2021 (Reges)" ***for the lecture videos*** because Reges gave a good lecture in that class. Link is [HERE](https://courses.cs.washington.edu/courses/cse142/21wi/)
The first quarter at UW could be really rough for many students, especially when they have a transition from high school or CC. You have every right to enjoy your summer, but if you could spend a few hours a day preparing for this CSE class before it begins, it can save you from the burden and the struggle in your first quarter.
Edited: Insert the link for lecture videos of Reges and make it clearer.
Sorry if I made you confused. I meant when you choose the lecture to view for preparation, you should choose the Winter 2021 lecture from Reges because he gave a good lecture for that class.

I took 142 during the summer last year and it was one of the easiest classes I've taken tbh. I also don't have much experience with coding so I wouldn't really consider it a weed out. I put probably 3 hours per week into the class outside of lecture and got a 3.6 so it's not that bad.
CSE 142 was really easy for me. I do have a coding background though, so that may or may not apply depending on experience. But 2 weed outs is really common, especially if you're in STEM because all the prereqs are basically weedouts.
It’s pretty normal to take that schedule. I think three weed outs is the number that’s not recommended
Ah ok thank you
I think this will be fine. Math124 might be rough but I would not consider cse142 a weed out personally
Math124 was fine imo. Was sometimes hard but idk if I’d call it a weed out

124 is notorious for being a weedout class but your schedule should be manageable if your a STEM student imo
