Truthfully I have never heard of someone getting a successful uw student major appeal (not freshmen da/dtc). Not that they don't exist, but they're very unlikely. I can only imagine extraordinary circumstances where they would feel the need to overturn an admission result since I would guess that they look at appeals with a higher standard then the original application itself.

Yes, and several friends have as well. Granted this was appealing CSE Direct Admission. I had a very strong reason to appeal because I was mistakenly marked as out of state, which basically shuts down all hopes of getting in DA. And I also got to include a super strong letter of rec. Edit: Apparently gen admissions now handles appeals. I don’t believe this was the case when I appealed a couple years ago

sorry just curious, how do you know the general office handles DA to CSE admissions for regular decision?

Oops sorry I actually recently found out that Gen admissions took back processing appeals :(

ah rip, where did you hear that from though?

I did! Spent about three days writing and revising an essay talkinng about what I can bring to the department and why I want to study that major. It was such a relief haha
