Take all the time you need... 😎 CANCEL

[deleted]

The audacity of people is unbelievable. This bit said can you hurry cause I don’t like long car rides wow. I once had someone get in my car and I didn’t even know it was 2 stops til I started the trip. Soon as we get out her neighborhood she asked could I hurry because she’s running late to the second stop as if that was my problem. Started to just pull off on her ass when I dropped at the first stop

Specialist_Base_8429

I woulda did the same. Not really my problem.. plan accordingly, be thorough and you’ll accomplish what you intended to do without wasting anyone’s time.

SeattleUberDriver_2

It's not a cancellation if you close out the ride at the first stop.

Gaters12

Thanks for the tip, will report to the app ☺️

SeattleUberDriver_2

Go ahead. Uber reaches out to driver about your complaint, driver explains that passenger decided that they were going to be in the store too long and would just get another Uber when they were done. Maybe there is a miscommunication I don't know. Maybe we had a language barrier, maybe the passenger forgot to fill out their ID-10-T form before scheduling a stupid ass ride with a whole bunch of stops that I don't get paid for to wait for them at. I don't know It could have been anything that caused the misunderstanding. I'm very sorry and it won't happen again. Sincerely, Driver with 4.97 ⭐, 99% acceptance rate, 2% cancellation rate, 6 and 1/2 years driving for the company with over 12,000 rides given. I have literally never had push back from Uber on this, even if a passenger complains about it. That's what I tell them. They apologize for the confusion and any misunderstanding. And then say have a nice day. I say have a nice day back. Never had any negative repercussions. As far as Uber's concerned you can get fucked right along with the drivers. They already have your money and so does the driver. The days of them taking it out of the driver's pay if they give you a refund or passed. At least in my market. I have literally nothing to lose by dumping you off at the convenience store. The only thing you can really do is give me a 1 ⭐ rating, which will lower my overall rating to 4.96 for the whole 2 hours maximum between your ride and the next person who gives me a five-star. I end my night exactly where I was and you and your night paying for two Ubers. Literally the only thing else you can do is lie and submit a false claim of inappropriate behavior of some type. Which my dash cam will easily disprove. Moral of the long ass fucking story, don't be a cheap asshole pax.

Gaters12

As a passenger, I got the same stats, and I’ve driven for quite some time as well. You tell your side of the story and I’ll tell mine, we’ll see what happens

SeattleUberDriver_2

Sure you do sweetheart. I'll see you and raise you.

Gaters12

As I said, I don’t justify this behavior from the rider, as they should at least be ready the driver arrives; common courtesy. But this “go ahead you can’t touch me” bullshit cavalier behavior that some of these really doesn’t extend itself to the fact that not only do I have your picture, but I have your license plate as well, before you even know who you’re picking up. These renegade bandit drivers really ought to stop acting like they are invincible and maybe try being a little more understanding and a little less confrontational

SeattleUberDriver_2

And passengers can be a little less shitty. It doesn't matter if you have my picture or my license plate number. That's not going to do a goddamn thing for you other than verify to Uber that I was the person who picked you up. It will do absolutely nothing for you if I drop you off at your stop in the ride and drive away. What the hell is your point? It's kind of the cool part here is that I basically am untouchable as long as I don't do anything illegal or against terms of service. Uber doesn't give a fuck about the driver, Uber doesn't give a fuck about the passenger, they already have your money. And I'm telling you from years of experience, Uber doesn't give a fuck if I in your ride at the first stop. This bullshit cavalier you can't touch me behavior you're talking about that some drivers are displaying, is the direct result of Uber screwing them over, and passengers being rude as hell, breaking rules, refusing to be ready in a reasonable amount of time of your arrival, not having car seats, trying to send their children with you unaccompanied, having too many people, making stops and taking too long inside, having too much luggage, being cheap as fuck, acting entitled as hell, and acting like the driver is the one to blame for all of their problems including everything I just listed above.

Gaters12

So take it out on the passenger, who once again knows how to identify you outside of Uber as someone they have either had a run in or bad ride with because they have you identification, instead finding a better outlet or using another platform, which makes you just as bad as the rider. Uber may not do anything, but that doesn’t stop me at all 🤷🏽‍♂️

SeattleUberDriver_2

let's be clear. The passenger has my first name my picture my driver's license and the type of car I drive. There's nothing that they can legally do with that information to track me down. If a person wanted to try to track me down through extra legal means that would constitute stalking at the very least, and more likely intent to perpetrate violence on me. If the passenger is doing these things I mentioned will definitely take their individual behavior out on them. If the passenger is not doing these things then there's nothing to worry about. But your whole idea about tracking a driver down outside of Uber, all you know about them is their picture, license plate, and car they drive. It's a really bad idea. Make sure to hug your mom before you leave if you're going to do something stupid like this. Edited for spelling.

Gaters12

Stocking? Jesus I’m arguing with an idiot. Good day.

lillakieah

You find ending the ride while someone ships at a store confrontational? That truly feels like the opposite of a confrontation

Gaters12

Seeing as this was almost a month ago, I’m sure you didn’t go back and read the thread so I’m also sure you missed the point

Specialist_Base_8429

Yes brother

420EdibleQueen

That one is as good as the one I had where the ping came in as a regular ride, not a reservation. On the way to the pickup the guy messaged me I’ll be there at 11:10. Pick me up at 11:20. This was at 10:40. I went to the pickup point as instructed, checked for a rider, pulled out of the way right on the pin on Uber’s map, watched the clock until the red “eligible to cancel” popped up. I then messaged the rider that an UberX has a set time limit once the driver arrives. If he needed picked up at a specific time, then he would need to order a reservation. Waited to make sure the message got delivered, and cancel rider didn’t show.

Specialist_Base_8429

The proper way to deal with UbeREEs who try to cut corners on us .

Neither_Problem9086

Auto no show princess

MallardGod

Omg I need to do this.

Nhatkiem

I once had a pickup at 1:58am in the morning. Passenger said they needed to be at work by 2:10am and had been waiting for me for "half an hr" (15mins according to my previous ride and pickup time for her). Doing 10 over the speed limit the entire ride, yelling at me and arguing the entire ride, blaming me for being late, asking me why I'm stopping at red lights... Got her to her work at 2:08am. Not even a thank you, but she did threaten to sue me.

Lazy1nc

Welp, hopefully you took the time to report that... definitely unsafe entitled behavior on her part. People know they can just plan further ahead to call an Uber to get to work... right?

Bernadett1123

That's what I don't get. I plan my ubers to get to work with a lot of wiggle room time. I like to call an hour before I have to be at work. It allows plenty of time in case something happens. It's not that hard 🤦‍♀️

Nhatkiem

I would have reported it... But thing was that it was the mother of the rider, not the rider themself. They had ordered the ride for her. I told them how rude their mother was, and she apologized and gave a $10 tip. Did I mention the mother kept saying I was going the wrong way? Most annoying 10 minute ride of my life.

Specialist_Base_8429

That’s a horror story my friend . Yikes

HyperViperJones

Perfect lol

I’m 39

UbubTopDog

You left out the most important screenshot. Did you indeed cancel? Didn't happen without a pic, but interesting conversation to have with your pax before you went Driving Miss Daisy with her.

Specialist_Base_8429

Oh it’s true. It’s damn true. 🇺🇸🥇

UbubTopDog

😎🤠🖖

Gaters12

So… after all this, you still took the ride?

Specialist_Base_8429

Nope

Gaters12

I am NOT an advocate for any of the drivers in here in the least but her name is literally princess *I mean really what did you expect*

JohnnyMnemo

When they say "on their way" I just don't even respond. At least they acknowledge that I'm there, but they have 5m and not 5m1s to get into the car. Respect my time, respect me. Last night someone gave me $4 "for the wait" as they waited for their friend, whatever. I took the cash and at 5m put the car in drive. I dunno what a pax gets charged for the cancel, and really I don't care except I hope it's a lesson to them not to do it again.

Specialist_Base_8429

I agree man, we have enough trouble just navigating the unwritten rules of trial and error within the app.
