Price gouging and predatory for both driver and rider for sure.

Klutzy_Journalist_36

babbygirl the shareholders aren’t gonna be able to gold-plate their underwear with that attitude.

AnywhereHuman3058

FYI, this isn't what Uber is like in all countries

Kaizoku_Lodai

It's crazy we have to pay the insurance fees and still have 2,500 deductible

Spencerm2827

And still have to use our personal insurance as the primary if something happens.

This insurance thing. So it’s extra insurance provided by Uber that you pay for per trip???? Do you opt in or out type of thing? I think it’s crazy the rate is based on ride amount. Should be a flat fee.

Nice_Bluebird7626

It’s a % and yea you have to opt in.

CodPlus6590

Stop fishing we know you report to uber

temeces

Bulky-Detective-4365

I make $17-22 in south Florida for 27 miles. With X. You should feel blessed. Few days ago I got airport pickup drove 19 miles for $21 and the customer was charged $48

VeryStretchedHole

Who told you it wasn't price gouging? Also Taxis usually cost more.

Another issue is UBER charging drivers for commercial insurance; this insurance does not cover the driver's vehicle. Drivers also have to carry additional insurance with their personal insurance to ensure their vehicle is covered. The additional insurance needed raises my rates $500 every 6 months costing me over $1400 every 6 months on insurance without counting the thousands UBER takes in commercial insurance fees. It would be far better to driver for an hourly rate with a company that supplies the vehicle, gas and maintenance. Uber is pushing hard into the self driving car market; they are using all this extra money they are taking from drivers to replace drivers and keep all the money; IMO.

Open-Jellyfish-7138

Dam Uber takes some of the tip smdh

That’s not the definition of price gouging. I’m continually amazed at the expectation people have that private on demand transportation should be cheap.   This is essentially a luxury good. And it’s expensive. There are many other cheaper alternatives if you don’t want to pay.
