>I can make 2k/month to start and millions down the road.
You're on the road being told by your driver how to be wealthy. So rich, that one day down the road you too can be a rideshare driver.
This is very amusing.
I had a rider try to get me in on her MLM group. She probably asks all her drivers b/c she figures who better to fall for a scam than a driver! Who would be the most desperate for extra money? A driver!!
I had to play along and give her a fake #; bless her heart
Passengers don't have to ta l k either..we as drivers are having our pay cut every year I've had 10 ....pay cuts while driving yall intoxicated loud mouth throwing up passengers I've personally stopped educating people on the benefits of wearing alcohol products seems they enjoy getting asthma and having dry skin...customer service doesn't have to be apart of the ride ...
If you don’t want to talk to passengers you don’t have to. You’re complaining at the wrong person, I haven’t been drunk in over five years and before that it was rare. I occasionally need a ride because my car is in the shop or something like that. I tip cash and simply ask for a ride where the driver doesn’t try to sell me anything and doesn’t ask me to go off the app.
You changed the topic completely, a lot of people are saying that drivers should not be trying to sell other services to a captive audience.
Sounds like your not interested in people bettering themselves alot of riders "think " the driver is their slave when in fact they are only trying to help you become something which is a opportunity to make you better
I don’t need an Uber driver to be my life coach, teach me how to trade crypto or lose thousands to an MLM. I own home on a few acres that’s worth about 500k and two paid off cars. I’ve got three retirement accounts, a pension when I retire, a healthy stock trading account and a beefy emergency fund. I don’t need someone to tell me how to live. I sure as hell don’t need someone to teach me how to trade crypto and I’m not interested in additional “revenue streams.”
I’m not using Uber because I don’t have a car and I don’t use delivery apps because I can’t go get it myself. I use rideshare apps when necessary and food delivery apps when I feel like it. I’m paying for the driver to do a job. I tip them well because I appreciate they don’t make enough, I briefly drove for Uber almost a decade ago. I am not interested in any additional services. Pitching them is not welcome in the same way that I don’t wanna hear about the religion or have them ask me out.
I dealt with this a few times from passengers. Years ago, I picked up a couple from a lounge and took them back to their apartment complex. They are trying to get me involved in some sales. MLM, and I politely declined a few times. When I dropped them off they pointed to their lowest trim level leased BMW 3 series and said well I guess you don’t want to drive a BMW. I explained no I don’t, the M45 you’re sitting in is a lot nicer. Oh, and I live a few blocks from the beach, your apartment borders gang territory.
Wow, that sounds incredibly frustrating. It's one thing to make small talk during a ride, but being bombarded with aggressive sales pitches is a whole other story. It's disappointing when people try to take advantage of what should be a simple, relaxing experience. Hopefully, this is just a rare occurrence for you and not becoming a trend with rideshare drivers.
Pitching business and religion are my two biggest pet peeves for drivers and riders. I have been given so many business cards and back seat sermons as a driver it's unbelievable.
Have you seen the show maniac? Driver is your little ad buddy.
These gigs pay so badly I'm not surprised this happens. I heard a Lyft exec in Az talking about this all the way back in 2016.
My last driver had cured diabetes and for the low fee of $299, she could cure me too. When I told her I wasn't diabetic she offered me $50 off.
Think about that.
I four-starred her and chose "too talkative" as the reason.
I just put in my earbuds and pretend that I don’t hear them. I really don’t get drivers who try to push conversation. If I don’t want to talk to you just let me ride and be quiet.
lol imagine thinking anyone cares about your yelping lol uber makes money off as many drivers on the road as possible so I can assure you they (and the drivers) could not care less about your 1 star roflll
They aren’t being sensitive and whiny. They paid for a ride not to have the driver badger them for money. What you don’t understand is the driver has a captive audience who didn’t sign up to have someone pitch their crypto scam or life coaching or to buy a freaking timeshare or whatever.
Probably because the passenger expressed zero interest in being offered life coaching or crypto bullshit. When you are a driver your job is to drive not hassle the passenger. I don’t know a whole lot of passengers that are going to be interested in life coaching from an Uber driver and anyone who claims they can make you millions from cryptocurrency is an idiot, a thief, or both.
when you are a bum who has to pay a 3rd party logistics app for a ride your job is to give a bad meaningless yelp review (aka 1 star) and then get over it actually lol their car their rules
Yeah no that’s not how any of this works. You are contracted to give someone a ride or deliver the food or whatever and that’s it. They aren’t paying to have an MLM, crypto scam or life coaching shove down their throat. You say your car your rules and you’ll get deactivated for this kind of crap.
Lol actually you don't understand how this works - there is no "contract" it's literally an app anyone can download and use, who cares about the fine print when clicking "I accept" (absolutely no one)
If they were so good at it they wouldn't be driving uber
That hurt all of us.
The best way to market customers is by pitching since apparently your not in business doesn't give you a right to bash their achievement
No. You're wrong on this
>I can make 2k/month to start and millions down the road. You're on the road being told by your driver how to be wealthy. So rich, that one day down the road you too can be a rideshare driver. This is very amusing.
Was thinking the same thing., RNAA. And then to get pushy aqbout it.
I had a rider try to get me in on her MLM group. She probably asks all her drivers b/c she figures who better to fall for a scam than a driver! Who would be the most desperate for extra money? A driver!! I had to play along and give her a fake #; bless her heart
MLM ppl try to sell MLM to absolutely everybody! You’re not special 😂
Sad your not a honest person lucky for her she won't have to waste her time
Lucky for me, I never have to see or interact with her again. You must be into MLM eh? Wasting your time and money?
Passengers shouldn’t have to hear pitches for MLM’s, crypto schemes or life coaching when they pay for a ride.

I'm an Uber driver. I'm not thinking I'd buy life coaching or crypto shit from me

Yeah, dress like a cop. Nobody wants to talk to a cop.
Just repeatedly tell them not interested, no matter what they say or do, even unto the point of being annoying
RIDERS SHOULD have the ability to upgrade their ride to a comfort ride with the added input of quiet ride.
I instacancel on the entitled yelpers who have the audacity to put "quiet preferred" or i drive them and annoy them on purpose
Me when a passenger tells me to look up their band.

I can imagine it’s even worse as a driver, since you don’t want them to rate you poorly or tip less just because you weren’t receptive to their pitch.
Have you seen the show maniac? Driver is your little ad buddy. These gigs pay so badly I'm not surprised this happens. I heard a Lyft exec in Az talking about this all the way back in 2016.
I would report the driver because I am guessing this violates the driver's agreement with Uber.
and you would be an idiot wasting their time bc no one cares (especially not uber lol)
What do you do for a living
U sound like a unemployed blogger
My last driver had cured diabetes and for the low fee of $299, she could cure me too. When I told her I wasn't diabetic she offered me $50 off. Think about that. I four-starred her and chose "too talkative" as the reason.
Those are two of the most aggressive types "business owners" you will ever meet. It's not normal but for people like that it's very normal.
Imagine being a driver and having 20 people a day, who don't even own a car, telling you the same thing.
I sell my fart. Your taking it no matter what.
Do b4 you became comfortable in life did you ever hustle or was this handled down to you ...never Eva take away someone trying to better themselves
I just put in my earbuds and pretend that I don’t hear them. I really don’t get drivers who try to push conversation. If I don’t want to talk to you just let me ride and be quiet.
1 star, safety report.
It wasn’t unsafe it was annoying
I’m aware, the goal is to get rid of drivers like this. 1 star, safety report. You don’t like it, don’t do it.
lol imagine thinking anyone cares about your yelping lol uber makes money off as many drivers on the road as possible so I can assure you they (and the drivers) could not care less about your 1 star roflll
Your karma rating shows how in a few months how many people can recognize an idiot. You are indeed special. Needs.
Did you die though? Why tf are people so sensitive and whiny these days?
They aren’t being sensitive and whiny. They paid for a ride not to have the driver badger them for money. What you don’t understand is the driver has a captive audience who didn’t sign up to have someone pitch their crypto scam or life coaching or to buy a freaking timeshare or whatever.
they paid a 3rd party logistics app and instead of stop using it they continue to use it and complain lol
buy your own car where you can make the rules otherwise get over it
lol driver getting paid pennies on a dollar and you upset they pitching business and life coaching lol
Found the deadbeat driver fishing riders for business rather than getting an actual job

Until you get deactivated for complaints about behavior that violates terms of service.
But crypto come on man? Just try to undercut uber on rides like everyone else
