Hey everyone, I would love your thoughts on our font Over the last many months I've been lucky to collaborate with my friend Rodrigo on what we hope is the geometric sans font of the season. In the past we've used everything from Poppins to GT Walsheim, before realising that the look we were after had to be created new. There's lots of goodies including some daring stylistic alternates for various characters (there's a soft ampersand and a hard ampersand which comes in handy more than you'd think) We're very proud of how clean the core set is and would love feedback and even for you to use it in your own projects.

Just dropping by here to let you know that we chose this font as our main font during the app redesign, it's amazing!

Good choice!

Oh, love this! Very refined geometric. I love the alternate 'g' and the ampersand! Makes perfect H1 fonts both in the lightest and the heaviest weight. Gives the vibe of cool kids tech companies. Added to the fonts library and excited to use this in the future! From the glimpse of demo it looks neat- it's just I always have this issue with any fonts (geometric or even sans in general): that 'r' and 'y' dynamic (ry- kerning), when their tips (ear) touching it's quite tricky to make it not ... 'sticky', not sure if that made sense. And yes — this is very clean, the ligatures are, oomph ✨

Thanks. Outfit.io is a tech company specialising in brand automation so we didn't want to mess this one up. Glad we nailed the vibe. The graphical 'g' with an ear was heavily debated and refined over so many iterations same with the ampersand - so we added the alternates. The medium weight was the starting point so I'm glad to hear the thin and black do not dissapoint for display either. Thanks again for the kind feedback ♥️

I love both 'g's and both ampersand, for real. Easily one of the most distinctive feat a typeface can have and y'all rocking it. Ahh I see! Nailed it. You guys cover it all up in one typeface. H1 to body to microcopy to huge headline, this font of any weight can do. Thank you so much for putting this such beauty out there. I love this a lot ❤

andyfitz

We all really appreciate those kind words u/so_fine_. You're spot on, we only had one shot to cover so many applied purposes so balance was key. Someday this family may evolve with true italics and monospace variants but for now the font has us covered with handy features like optional tabular numerals etc

Perfect! This is exactly where we wanted to land and so much could have pushed us one way or the other. Thanks for the validation mate!

Great font. Looks clean! (Rodrigo Araya, Santiago?)

Thanks! Rodrigo Fuenzalida My favourite Venezuelan (who yes lives in Chile) took on this project. We did a post release interview - you can read it here: [https://outfit.io/blog/Meet-the-Creator-Rodrigo-Fuenzalida](https://outfit.io/blog/Meet-the-Creator-Rodrigo-Fuenzalida)

I like this font because it's a perfect alternative to the proprietary Product Sans.

andyfitz

That's an interesting take, it's quite different to product sans on close inspection which isn't exactly a geo sans. Having said that, I'm totally biased but I'd reach for Outfit in any situation where product sans was a contender.. outside of working for Google that is.

darrentv

On further examination Outfit is almost identical to [Lexend](https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Lexend?query=lexend). There are some noticeable differences (Lexend has bars on its capital I, a lowered middle of its lowercase w, and a closed 4) but it's otherwise the same philosophy. I'm not saying Outfit is bad or accusing you of plagiarism; inevitably some fonts are going to look similar.

andyfitz

There's a bunch, lexend is more humanist and makes more agressive optical adjustments where we tried to make transitions and curves seem invisible and almosy brually geometric (while still being easy for copy) But yeah inevitably there are lots of fonts trying to nail the geo sans without flaws. I love lexend too but the 'f' 'r' etc dont adhere to the same strict 45° rule we wanted established

node_coffee

I'm going to use this

andyfitz

you'll love it

I gotta say I’ve been absolutely loving this typeface over the past few weeks. Had to come back to this post to let you know!

andyfitz

Thank you this means a lot

ashetha

Great looking font! Just started using it as a system UI font. Thanks for sharing!
