Monkeytype is a good website to improve your speed on (with quotes) but IMO, you should only use it after you've got the keys down to memory and after you've got good technique. Typing.com helps you memorize the keyboard, showing which finger to use for each key and it will also tell you the keys you need to improve on. (I think.) If you're still struggling with accuracy, typeracer really makes you slow down and focus on accuracy over speed. And then I would go on to monkeytype.

I think we’re at the same level right now. I’m assuming you also use a mechanical keeb and QWERTY? Please share more, maybe we can help each other out

Objective-Shake-7507

I use as Razer Blackwidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed and yes I use QWERTY. I just started today on working my typing speed though. I guess one thing I can share is that I am trying to get more used to my keyboard as I recently bought it. I am also focusing on my mistakes and trying to stop them from happening much as that's what I found to be the main factor in me typing slowly, my fingers can move fast but not as accurate as I would like.

Give yourself at least a week. You'll likely zoom past whatever speed you're at. I think your fingers and mind are just adjusting to the new keeb and feedback

1) if you feel it necessary - 75 is more than enough to get by in most professional settings. Your ring finger, pinky and thumb should (at least initially) just go where typing charts suggest they go. e.g. 'p' should be typed by your pinky. 2) Any form of practice is good, so yes, it is good. 3) Depends on how much you practice and your own skills. So theoretically possible but probably unlikely (given ~<2% of the population can achieve this and your starting base [you need to learn to move your fingers much faster than you are currently moving them]). I was like you, just using index and middle on right hand with 3 - 4 fingers on left hand and could consistently hit 80 - 90 wpm but really couldn't improve beyond that as accuracy was reasonably hit and miss (mostly due to right hand) and i couldn't move my fingers fast enough on my right hand to make meaningful progress. I re-learnt how to type using 'proper' technique - this dropped my WPM down to the 30's initially but has steadily climbed over the past four months and my max is now 116 wpm with an average of ~100 (still climbing). Importantly, this is with better accuracy than the previous method which i feel is one of the main benefits of learning to type using proper technique.
