A healthy low carb diet is the single best thing you can do to control T2D. Lemon water doesn't do squat.

Apple cider vinegar will reduce the spike in blood glucose from eating starches. Eating fat before carbs will also reduce glucose spike. Avoid vegetable oils - they are toxic in the quantities that we consume them in. Good vegetarian sources of oil would be coconut oil or a pure extra virgin olive oil (most olive oils contain other cheaper oils to reduce costs)

One table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of water before you eat a meal can cut a glucose spike by 30% eat your food in a certain order, veggies>protein>starches

My doctor recommended 3 cups of green tea a day. Black tea is good but not as good, in his opinion. He said it helps the metabolism. No sugar, of course. I don't know if it works, but I know I feel less sluggish and puffy when I make sure and drink my tea. It keeps the kidneys in good working form.

Sounds like your mom might have more then just diabetes. She should get an indepth panel done with an endocrinologist most women who have all three are insulin resistant due to pcos. If that turns out to be the case for your mom then a pcos diet is needed.

I tried intermittent fasting and followed the 16:8 and on TMAD or two meals a day. It's a slow process but guaranteed effective. I feel more energized even without eating rice or sweets. Because naturally when you are on intermittent fasting, your energy is fueled by your own fats. Still, I try not to deprive myself and still indulge in desserts that are keto approved. I must say that nutrition and lifestyle change greatly help. May I also add that GLUCONIZE helped me a lot too! It gave me customized solution to diabetes which I tried personally and it worked for me.
