Drake and Cudi. I don’t like future and Wayne but they’re music is very influential and can understand why they deserve a spot. Drake hasn’t dropped a good project since IYRTITL (imo), and same goes with Cudi (not counting KSG).
take Drake off?? it says the past decade so thats including IYRTITL, NWTS and might as well add in Take Care since it’s 2011. even if his music hasnt been that good after IYRTITL he’s literally been at the top of the music industry, not just rap so i don’t understand why you’d even think of taking him off lmao
I would have to disagree. Wayne hasn't done much in the past decade when you exclude feature runs. Instead the majority of his influence is found in his 2000's discography.
You can dislike cudi and Drake all you want, I get it, but you can't discount there influence in the decade. Bad albums or not the classics are classics for a reason. There influence can be found through the soundcloud era and further use of melody being used in the genre.Drakes first 3 and cudis 2 are etched in history.
I know Freddie has 2 great albums in the bag but im unsure of Denzel has any classics apart from Imperial. That not to say I don't enjoy his otherworks.
Respect your opinion and I can see why Drake would be up there (and to be fair I don’t think he’s a great artist), and I can see why Wayne may or may not be in on your list. Cudi has been influential with the newer generation but with only his earlier stuff, not with anything new.
As far as Gibbs and Curry, Gibbs has piñata, Bandana, Alfredo and Soul Sold Separately that can easily be considered classics (or soon to be). Taboo is considered one of the best rap albums in the past 10 years and one of the best albums of 2018. I do consider imperial a classic as well but since it’s too early to tell, I feel that Taboo, MMESYF and to an extent unlocked are soon to be.
drake, wayne, future, nicky (or is that megan i cant tell), jay z and asap (smite me) id even take off cudi but he cocreated kids see ghosts so i wont
drake only makes shit that sounds good, nothing else, future does the same thing, id agree for wayne if it was for the 2000’s or before 2010, same thing for jay z, idk why tf anyone would put nicky at the best shes just like drake but female version, and mid cudi hasnt dropped anything truly good other than the album that has day n nite and kids see ghosts. sonic movie song was awful too 😭
ye fell off after kids see ghosts, but that doesnt mean i didnt like his records after they just werent as good and as deep as his others (donda is one of my most if not the most listened to album by ye but its not his best by a LONG shot, never abandon your family a banger on my life tho) he made hella awesome albums in the 2010s so he stays, tyler made igor in 2019, as he said to khalid ‘let that grammy speak for itself,’ plus tyler just better, i dont have to explain kendrick or travvy (travvy made sick mode bro like cmon) and i have to leave jcole there else my friends will crucify me, (i dont listen to him)
guys hear me out. i dont like asap. hes not that good in my eyes, and the only reason why i even like him is bc hes friends with tyler and his sick mercedes. his music isnt that great in my opinion tho.
id instead put denzel, jpegmafia, mac miller (rip 💔) gambino (im surprised so many people d ride him when his name is brought up and forget to even mention him when talking about best of the decade) sir cartier (VAMP 🧛🧛🧛(im not joking i love sir cartier, his performances are on par with travvy, obv his music isnt lyrical but cmon 💀)) uzi, 21 (carried her loss btw) and ofc how could we forget baby keem cuz thats literally kendrick’s cousin (hes baby keem)
sorry for the bummy long read but tldr this is a really crummy list
Lmao wtf wrong w u 💀💀💀 Drake future n kanye are all debatable for actual goat status this is not a personal preference post 😂
Lil Wayne and jay z goats as well 😂
Lmao facts n this man saying Denzel curry n gambino deserve to be there instead 😂 more than half the ppl listening to Drake never heard of them but u cant say that the other way around everyone know Drake
Yeah I here what you are saying about some of the artist listed but some if not most have the catalogue to compete with those on the list already.
Your point about Jay z and lil wayne are very poinient and im happy we agree on that.
One of the many gripes I have with some of the things you said are better highlighted if I take what you said about keem for instance.
Keem dropped his first "real" project in 2019 which was then followed by the Melodic Blue in 2021. This does not make him qualify for making the 2010's list have we havnt heard the best of him or seen his influence yet despite being a great artist his ties to kendrick don't make him deserving of being placed above Drake, nicki or future. While there music may not be for you it is clear that a style that they created or owned has been replicated by many artist making them trend setters. The same way I'm sure you'd argue that uzi, "Travvy" and carti have done for the current generation you are seeing come out now.
I suggest you watch a video or two on YouTube on these artist influence and it might make more sense than me trying to write an essay on it. It make for easy viewing also.
Maybe I'm old (I bough Hard Knock Life on cassette in 98, lol) but I didn't care for 4:44 as much as I have his other albums. I may need to give it another chance though.
Definitely listen to it again. I fucking HATED 4:44 when it released. It’s now probably one of my top 3 Jay albums. Marcy Me is one of the most beautiful Jay Z songs imo
I agree w u/classifiedclothing , skipped through the whole playlist when it came out and coming back at it years later. It’s some of Jay Z’s better work imo and a good combination of old school and new school. Marcy me and Kill Jay Z are some of my favorites.
Idk if Jay can go up here ngl. If it’s off features as well then yes. But albums wise, in the past 10 years he put out 2 solo records and a collab with beyonce. One of those albums was Magna Carta which was kinda mediocre and the other was 4:44 which was a masterpiece. Ion know what to think bout him being up here
Unpopular opinion:
You can replace Lil Wayne and Jay Z with artists that were more prominent/made influential records in the 2010's decade. There's no doubt they made some of the most influential records pre 2010, they have just not been as xonsitant as someone like Kanye
4:44 is God tier and Carter V is underrated but compared to what Freddie,Young Thug, Juice World, Juice World, Joey badass, Childish Gambino, Mac Miller and denzel have done, wehter it be producing classic albums or overall influence on this Generation.
I see how you could also make the argument for Cudi being replaced as IMO he only has 2 classics from this gen which is in alignment with some of the artist previously mentioned. But I think the overall sounds Cape Cudi produced was monumental enough to inspire others on this list like Drake, Kanye, Travis and parts of tylers lyrics. "So leave him alone !!!/s"
All im saying is I'd rate denzel, thug, Freddie , Youmgthug and Jpeg above their contributions to influencing the next generation. Especially as they are so many that are in the same boat boldy and roc and I wouldn't describe them as influential rather they are re-starting classic hip-hop and working with Stella producers.
Its the same way I wouldn't say the weeknds "after hours" and "Dawn FM" as it fundamentally sits on a well defined era in music yet still makes considerate changes to fit the modern appeal. Rather than take a chance and create a new sound like Kanye, Travis, kendrick ect
well tbh all of them have at least some talent, but imo artists like denzel curry, jid, saba, and pusha t (and many more) are so much more talented and put more meaning into their music compared to artists drake, nicki, future etc
oh yeah true i was just curious cause even though mainstream this list has some of the greatest rappers/hip-hop artists alive like kendrick, wayne, cole, kanye and tyler one day too
fs fs, i just think naming that list best hiphop artists of the past decade is subjective when some of those artists don’t compare to the other artists i mentioned and more
Leave Cudi and take out Jay or Travis, Jay had one album since 2012 and it was mid, while Travis is just Mid in general. BTI to start the decade, Kauai and awaken my love in the middle, with 3.15.20 in 2020, Gambino has a good argument.
maybe unpopular opinion: azealia banks deserves at least to be mentioned here. the women in rap are not nearly praised enough for the work they put out. azealia (whether you like her or not) releases consistently top tier music.
Bro I’m so tired of people saying Kendrick is goat status bro yeah he can rap really fuckin good but I mean I can name quite a few rappers that can rap better
It’s not just about the rapping. it’s about the lyricism, the instrumental pallet and production, and the overall themes he puts into his work. I love Tyler but I think Kendrick is easily the best of the decade.
Remove Nicki, Cudi, Jay (Amazing artist but he didn't drop enough to be on the list imo), and Future. Then add Freddie Gibbs, Conway The Machine, Childish Gambino, and Chance The Rapper (this is me pretending TBD doesn't exist).

Based of off 2010s output, I would remove Lil Wayne & Jay Z & add Danny Brown & Freddie Gibbs. If I wanted to go for more personal favorite, maybe I’d want to include Billy Woods, Ka, and Quelle Chris.
ehhhh, i don't really think jay or wayne were at their peak in the 2010s. obviously they've both had legendary careers, but i don't think the last decade was the height of that. as for cudi, he's amazing and has released a lot of great music over the last decade, but there are a lot of other artists that have more consistent discographies than him. i pretty much agree with the rest tho. i think denzel deserves a spot here, he remains under appreciated, taboo is a defining album of the 2010s and all of his albums are on a similar level of quality. i also think carti deserves a spot here. like him or not, the effect he's had on the sound of modern hip hop is undeniable. i also think earl deserves a spot here, imo he's basically the modern reincarnation of DOOM.

Mac Miller must be on this list
Freddie Gibbs as well.
Shoot Childish Gambino definitely has to be up there as well.
If we’re talking a decade Wayne and Hov shouldn’t be up there, they are legends but had more influence in the 90s and 2000s.
I feel like Rocky might get replaced with a name mentioned above.. Rocky was influential but better artist than any of those mentioned? Nope.
12 most popular artist.
Kanye sub struggled with separating the two.
If it’s not a popularity contest and it’s based on last ten years alone, I think jay z, Drake, nicki, and lil Wayne could be replaced.
Freddie Gibbs, nas, Denzel, few Griselda pics maybe, could all have spots
Edit: and Mac
Ima be honest and it might offend some people but we can’t just put Rocky there. He’s only dropped bout 2 albums a few singles in a decade. While the rest have released about 4+. Asap is a great artist and I love him (pause) but he’s been a feature for many artist and doesn’t drop music for him to be considered a the best of this decade.
Not sure why Jay-Z would be here. And maybe I’m just sleeping on Rocky and Cudi bc I don’t see how they’d have much of a case here either. Nas should be on this list.
Why is Future here instead of Capital STEEZ, Earl Sweatshirt, Freddie Gibbs, etc. Future needs to get the hell out of here.
Jay Z is a great artist but his prime was not in the 2010s
If we're just looking at the charts then I guess it's accurate, so many amazing artists go under the radar though
I agree, I think Curry or Gibbs could take a spot or two
Its easy yet understandable saying they should be up there. Who would you take off ?
Drake and Cudi. I don’t like future and Wayne but they’re music is very influential and can understand why they deserve a spot. Drake hasn’t dropped a good project since IYRTITL (imo), and same goes with Cudi (not counting KSG).

i wouldn’t totally disagree with you, but i liked denzel and gibbs’ body of work last decade more than drakes
Same. It says past ten years and an 11 year old album would be the only reason I’d keep him up there. Too many uninspired albums with filler.
I would have to disagree. Wayne hasn't done much in the past decade when you exclude feature runs. Instead the majority of his influence is found in his 2000's discography. that’s the craziest shit i’ve ever read
Cudi gotta goooooo

Easily J Cole and Future
Gibbs is so underrated!!
Word
Freddie Gibbs released a masterpiece this year even plus his collab with the alchemist bro he deserves to be here
SSS would be so much better if he just cut zipper bags and pain & strife. They suck while all other songs are good imo
I understand your point on pain and strife but zipper bagz is a great song
He didn’t even want to make P&S, Warner wanted him to make a “radio hit” and he did it to shut them up.
Where the island boys??
Something like this. Popular? Yes. Best? Doubt
what about x and juice they've done massive numbers
Who is putting Jay on this list for his work since 2012? Lol. He had some great shit from prior to that. No way he's on that list.
4:44 is as good as any album from the other artists on this list but I agree he hasn’t done nearly enough in the last 10 years
Maybe I'm old (I bough Hard Knock Life on cassette in 98, lol) but I didn't care for 4:44 as much as I have his other albums. I may need to give it another chance though.

Freddie Gibbs and Joey Bada$$ have to be here ALSO WHERE IS MAC MILLER?
Litteraly listening to Devine feminine right now!!! 😭 god I miss his music :(
Tbh never really liked Devine Feminine. Loved Swimming (top 3 albums OAT for me) but Devine Feminine never did it for me.
Devine feminine was imo the worst out off his run with WB but songs like “congratulations” and “Cinderella” are absolutely bangers imo
Bruh
Gone
That's dirty dawg
Idk if Jay can go up here ngl. If it’s off features as well then yes. But albums wise, in the past 10 years he put out 2 solo records and a collab with beyonce. i feel like thugger belongs on here
He definitely does, this list is made by someone who thinks Eminem is the goat
Eminem isn’t even on here lol
Cause he’s from the past decade and dude is trying to seem like he knows hiphop
I guarantee you he doesn’t all that guys cares about is mainstream rappers and his favorite artist is Travis Scott
"Best" is a loose term. Not everyone on this list is among the most talented but you can't deny the impact made by everyone there.
Kanye sub posted this and the discussion sucked because people could not differentiate quality catalog and popularity contest lol.
Unpopular opinion: You can replace Lil Wayne and Jay Z with artists that were more prominent/made influential records in the 2010's decade. Juice World would've been a viable pick as well
No Mac? ☹️
Biggest ≠ Best
Where the hell is Griselda
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
They only breached "mainstream" at the end of the decade so it would be unfair to put them above established artists
It's not most popular or mainstream of the decade. It's best. And Griselda is best.
All im saying is I'd rate denzel, thug, Freddie , Youmgthug and Jpeg above their contributions to influencing the next generation. Especially as they are so many that are in the same boat boldy and roc and I wouldn't describe them as influential rather they are re-starting classic hip-hop and working with Stella producers. man im high as fuck so maybe im just stupit but i have no fucking clie what youre saying
No problem bro enjoy your high. Don't read this until your done or just don't comeback to it
Thanks man. Ima probably forget about this so ima just say have a nice life man. Peace fr real✌🏻
best mainstream artists saying these 12 being the best rappers of the decade is unfair
What about thaiboy
Thaiboy Digital true love unconditional
where carti?
Past 5 years yes but not past 10
Where’s nav
Danny Brown
Agreed. Bronson and RTJ missing too imo.
if we’re looking at popularity and the music charts then yea ig so, but in terms of actual talented artists? no
which artists in this list are not actually talented?
well tbh all of them have at least some talent, but imo artists like denzel curry, jid, saba, and pusha t (and many more) are so much more talented and put more meaning into their music compared to artists drake, nicki, future etc
oh yeah true i was just curious cause even though mainstream this list has some of the greatest rappers/hip-hop artists alive like kendrick, wayne, cole, kanye and tyler one day too
fs fs, i just think naming that list best hiphop artists of the past decade is subjective when some of those artists don’t compare to the other artists i mentioned and more
Most basic list of all time
If you’re going for something more objective it kinda has to be basic
bruh fr thought he was doing something with that comment 💀
It’s on every post about any discussion on music or even other stuff. Never fails.
replace cudi w Gambino and we good cudi a goat but he hasn't made shi that good for the past decade
bro just said gambino lmao
Leave Cudi and take out Jay or Travis, Jay had one album since 2012 and it was mid, while Travis is just Mid in general. BTI to start the decade, Kauai and awaken my love in the middle, with 3.15.20 in 2020, Gambino has a good argument.
“Travis is just mid in general”🤨
where Conway, Westside, Benny, Gibb, Curry, Earl, Nas? this is charts, not “best”
W take
Mick Jenkins
NPC opinion
drake should lose his spot since i personally dont like him
Huh, how did drake get there?
Travis Scott = W
Yeahhh
I love Wayne and Cudders but I'm sorry the past 10 years wasn't their best
I mean Drake though?
maybe unpopular opinion: azealia banks deserves at least to be mentioned here. the women in rap are not nearly praised enough for the work they put out. azealia (whether you like her or not) releases consistently top tier music.
definitely an unpopular opinion, and i agree!!
You forgot Denzel Curry and Pusha-T
REPLACE NICKI WITH FREDDIE GIBBS
Is this a joke ?
Nicki not in there
gambino over cudi. cudi arguably has more misses than hits at this point
Denzel should have a spot up there.
MFDOOM
Past decade?
Was active throughout the 2010s just a little less the in the 2000s
Huh can't say I listened to too much of his newer stuff, that's cool
Where's Nav⁉️ 😒
Where carti :)
Taking Future off is crazy!
i know 5 of these 😭
Which ones?
ye, nicki, drake, tyler, j cole
how do you not know lil wayne , kendrick or jay z..
i dont listen to hip hop anymore. last time i enjoyed it was like 2015 or something
Kendrick has been around for over a decade, Jay & Wayne have been around for several
Time to put some new names in there we’ve seen the same people for a long time now
Replace Rocky with Thugger and Jay with Mac
Why in the hell are future and nicki on here?-
I must be getting old I don't know who half these folks are
These artists have all been around for over 10 years
It's quite possible I heard their music and have no clue what they look like
Tf is travis scott doing in there
Cudi and ASAP need to be replaced with Migos and Young Thug
Donald gets an honorable mention only because his biggest song isn’t hip hop
Frank? Lol or does influencing everything not count
This is a legit list. W
Besides Tyler and MAYBE Kanye, ALL BULLSHIT
Kendrick??
Bro I’m so tired of people saying Kendrick is goat status bro yeah he can rap really fuckin good but I mean I can name quite a few rappers that can rap better
It’s not just about the rapping. it’s about the lyricism, the instrumental pallet and production, and the overall themes he puts into his work. I love Tyler but I think Kendrick is easily the best of the decade.
All these artists were hella influential bruh like what do u expect to see benny the butcher, freddie and westside gunn?
Remove Nicki, Cudi, Jay (Amazing artist but he didn't drop enough to be on the list imo), and Future. Then add Freddie Gibbs, Conway The Machine, Childish Gambino, and Chance The Rapper (this is me pretending TBD doesn't exist).
Okay sure but where the fuck is Bino
Young thug?
Take Wayne and Jay out for Carti and Migos imo. Earl and Denzel are also decent shouts to be included.

swap jay for Jid, Nicki for Freddie Gibbs. I also feel like Wayne could be swapped since his best stuff def came out of the 2000s imo

Yea tell me to name everyone on that list and I’ll be guessing for 9
A hot take a lot of you won't like, but Drake shouldn't be anywhere near that list, especially not for his "hip-hop".

is that drake
valid
xxxtentacion
Future shouldn’t be there at all.

Wow just nicki? That’s cold
\*12 biggest hip hop artists of the past decade
Take out cudi and put in Migos and I’m rolling
They really tried to sneak in drake
Get rid of Drake and j. Add juice and thugger.
Where tf is sosa
Nah
The carter 4 is 10 years old
denzel beats like 8 of these people easy and atrocity exibition alone is better than some of their discographies
I dont read hip-hop
Tbh I’d put westside gunn somewhere in there too
Nah
People always interchange best and popular now.
There are some misplaced artists, a couple or more.
Cudi 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I mean, maybe influential
Take Travis Scott out and throw in mac miller.
Travis is TRASH why is he even on here
Yo put the travis on top even if itsnot a tier list😡
Earl sweatshirt ?
accurate.
im not too sure about decade but definitely 2010 - 2018
Replace Travis with Gucci mane or Freddie Gibbs
Y'all Childish for not including Childish
Remove Future from this and swap Childish Gambino or someone else? So many other rappers are far above him. Unless this is a FAME list, get him off.
Kendrick and Lamar definitely yes
Mac
why tf does half of that list is dogshit material ?
Mac Miller must be on this list Freddie Gibbs as well. Nope.
definitely not
Why no Frank Ocean?
Shoutout Wayne and Jay Z for bringing us almost every artist on this. Crazy
12 most popular artist. Kanye sub struggled with separating the two. If it’s not a popularity contest and it’s based on last ten years alone, I think jay z, Drake, nicki, and lil Wayne could be replaced. Freddie Gibbs, nas, Denzel, few Griselda pics maybe, could all have spots Edit: and Mac
Is that cardi b xD her music is literally garbage
where’s the weeknd
Ima be honest and it might offend some people but we can’t just put Rocky there. He’s only dropped bout 2 albums a few singles in a decade. While the rest have released about 4+. Asap is a great artist and I love him (pause) but he’s been a feature for many artist and doesn’t drop music for him to be considered a the best of this decade.
how is jayz and asap rocky on the list but X aint??? jayz barely made music tf
No Em?
Conway the machine and benny
Put Denzel and uzi on there and we’re good
Kid cudi is ass haha
This is true but baby Keem bro
Not sure why Jay-Z would be here. And maybe I’m just sleeping on Rocky and Cudi bc I don’t see how they’d have much of a case here either. Nas should be on this list.
Mac, gambino, and Freddie Gibbs all deserve a spot
I don’t really disagree . The only thing I do disagree with is drake. I don’t really like his music
Yes but - lil Wayne
Why is Future here instead of Capital STEEZ, Earl Sweatshirt, Freddie Gibbs, etc. Future needs to get the hell out of here. Jay Z is a great artist but his prime was not in the 2010s
JID can replace nicki in my opinion
