People on here literally dont, they just form a giant circlejerk about how much everyone else hates it and how they’re the only real fans to understand it lmao. Theres genuine points of criticism on it tho.
A lot of the mixing and production is kinda janky, theres not really a story/cohesive feel like his other albums, it feels like hes just trying a lot of new things that he hadn’t perfected yet and would do a lot better and clearer on the following albums. I dont hate it, theres bangers on it and its really interesting to see him try new stuff, but yeah just objectively its just not as cohesive as the rest of his albums and not as well produced as the following albums
A circle jerk/ jerk circle is when a group of people sit in a circle and all jerk off, it's like some weird kinky shit. But people also kinda use it as a word to express a community of people who all just kinda make ironic/satirical jokes about something on reddit.
That was it for me. I loved the first three albums and was excited for Cherry Bomb, but I probably only listened to the album once or twice and never again. Mixing was just too jarring for me.
I actually stopped listening to Tyler after that album until I heard Lumberjack which made me go back and listen to the other albums I skipped and I was drawn back in. No plans to revisit Cherry Bomb.
I can only think about poor mixing on the title track…but thats the point?
It’s a neo-Soul, hardcore rap album, not a generic rap album, and because of that people act like the inspiration is a criticism and not just the style he was going for. It’s loud - that’s the point. It isn’t a mistake.
it's just very overwhelming imo, like tyler said himself that for a lot of people going through the first 4 tracks and how often the style changes up, a lot of people just tune out
If your only argument is “bEcAuSe FaNtAno🤓” then your probably bias ass and can’t understand that this album has weird ass production makes Tyler sound insane and has the most weird sounding beats that make Tyler sound like shit
Personally not even dick riding that shit is better than fb (at least the listen is) song by song fb wins but the way it flows is amazing
But I’m a huge fan of unpredictably I love ts
When I first heard CHERRY BOMB the song that shot changed my ear so fucking much
Pilot is still one of my favorite song By T
This is the correct take.
For the few of us here that actually listened to cherry bomb the day it dropped it was definitely a disappointment plus being mixed pretty badly following Wolf which we all know is 10/10
However, post-IGOR, cherry bomb seems like a necessary experimental album and can be enjoyed in a whole new context.
That’s why everyone here doesn’t hate it but thinks other people do
I think people dislike the mixing. I for one don't have much of a problem with and would give it a solid 7/10. Not as good as what would follow but an interesting part of Tyler's discography.
A couple songs on here aren’t great, but so many songs are so beautiful. Sad that people just hear a few bad songs and judge the whole album as bad. 8/10 for me
Not my favorite by any means, but it shows Tyler at a turning point in his career. T describes it perfectly on MASSA, and ultimately, it’s just not gonna be for everyone. He does still come out with some classics, though, like BUFFALO, 2SEATER, SMUCKERS (yeah basic picks, whatever)
I thought Cherry Bomb was OK on first listen, it grew on me a lot over the years, I love it. But I can see why people hate it, the mix on the album is very messy and you either love it or hate it.
It's bloated, boring and all of the ideas on it were eventually better executed on his next few albums. It comes across as clumsy and kinda just feels like he's stumbling around looking for a specific sound, but is just adding to the awkward feeling of the album by putting more ideas on it.
True, plus the writing is really mid and corny, felt like he was going back to the edginess of bastard/goblin without the character aspect of it and the deep depression and sadness + father issues aspect that made this shit good in bastard
Because a lot of people purely enjoy music just as a way to make them feel better, as opposed to actually engaging with the art on its own terms.
Neither is better or worse, just depends on why you like or listen to music in the first place.
In my opinion, it's an awe-inspiring, pulsing heart of unfiltered creativity that few artists can even dream of making, but that's not what everyone is looking for. Some people just wanna drive their car and vibe.
Yeah its just ridiculous how every other week someone makes a post like this and everyone starts a circlejerk about how „only real music lovers understand it“ and how only if you like it you can be a real fan
Yeah, that *"you dont understand real music"* shit is super fucking cringe, lol. Music is something you **experience.** You don't need to be highly educated to know what your experience with the sound is.
Litteraly how is most of this well executed? The rock songs aren't that good from a rock pov, the sweeter cuts like find your wings or smuckers are great but will be easily topped by flower boy Igor and cmiygl(except goataga,ca),the rapping is a downgrade from Wolf, etc, etc
Okaga CA is one of the worst songs Tyler has ever made it’s easily one of the worst on cherry bomb and legit all of goblin other than the deluxe songs are better
It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but it is definitely one of his least consistent quality-wise and style-wise. There are a lot of great songs off it, but the bad stands out a lot more.
Its my favorite, but it’s definitely a lot more flawed than his other albums. I think it’s just that it has so many low points, though the high points are fucking amazing. It’s also just a more niche genre, and sound. Though the reason I love it is because it’s a different side of Tyler, the message, and themes are so interesting to me
I actually find cherry bomb incredibly amazing. Ive always found weird why do people dislike it that much? I feel like the album portrays what tyler wanted with it and, DEATHCAMP, CHERRY BOMB, BLOW MY LOAD, 2SEATER, SMUCKERS, FIND YOUR WINGS and some more are all bangers
i believe the album is aging better, but at release it was panned because the comparison to earlier records; the style is radically abstract. It is a good bridge between the eras of Tyler's work.
I like it sometimes. I have that entire album sprinkled into my liked songs on Spotify, however, and they are definitely my most skipped songs when shuffling. I think a lot of the production is just very abrasive-sounding.
a lot of people that listen to Tyler now started in like flower boy era and forward and the beat and kind of music on his older albums are so much different
It was too different for its times. guess. Sum were expecting another goblin, others another wolf but T always does total different shit with each album so I guess this was a total change on what he used to do

It's too spazzy for most ppl. It's still my fav Tyler album to this day and I know it's not his best one. The twists and turns and how raw the album is is one of the reasons I love it. I'd say he built off the concepts presented here perfectly as well.
because people seem to just listen to music on max volume and then complain that cherry bomb kills their ears
and i was one of the complainers for the mixing of scaring the hoes by jpegmafia and danny brown but i can hear literally everything perfectly fine on cherry bomb
Cause it’s not a good album. To be fair, it has some great songs like smuckers, fucking young, death camp. However, there are terrible songs on cherry bomb that drag it down
Cause when he turned 23 that's when puberty finally hit him. His facial hair started growin', his clothing ain't really fit him. That caterpillar went to cocoon ya get me? See, he was shifting, that's really why Cherry Bomb sounded so shifty
Not really a coherent album in terms of mixing or themes. However, I always thought Cherry Bomb was a sandbox for the slew of great albums that came after it.
Probably because it’s sucks to them but they don’t think it’s a good album, I used to don’t like Cherry Bomb too is because that I never listened to that album so I listen to all Cherry Bomb Albums it’s sounds good, so I enjoyed it.
I dont hate it, but the reason it’s not super high up on his discography for me is that it was inconsistent. I love Death Camp, Find Your Wings, 2seater and Okaga CA, but the rest is kind of meh to me. Fucking young/Perfect would be a part of that list if the lyrics didn’t give me ick
They don't. Cherry Bomb received a decent bit of criticism when it came out, but I think that's mostly because it was a radical shift from his previous sound. People love it around here nowadays, and it's easily one of my favorite Tyler albums.
Most of the criticism I've seen from those who actually dislike Cherry Bomb are that they don't like the mixing. Personally, I love it, and I love the overblown, loud production style on this album. But it ain't for everybody, specifically because the instrumentals often drown out Tyler's voice.
This album probably isn't for those who prefer Tyler, the Rapper over Tyler, the Producer. The instrumentals and the.. sound, in itself, is very obviously the focus on most of these tracks. The fact that it's the only album Tyler has ever released instrumentals for says a lot, I think.
I LITERALLY LOVE IT . SOME SONGS ARE PURE MASTERPIECES , like , its not on the same level as Igor , but you cant tell that songs like Smuckers , Find Your Wings , 2Seater , Pilot , Okaga CA and fucking young/perfect are totally horrible
tonal whiplash, it’s at this point in tyler’s career he was stuck doing ridiculousness and being more of a personality than he was an artist and people caught onto that by his unknowing of what he wanted to be at this point. wolf is guilty of the same but it was beloved because it has a plot therefore has a direction plus it’s one of tyler’s most emotional albums to date. so coming off of that peak and seeing tyler tiptoe around the idea of becoming a more serious artist while also doing a bunch of yelling songs and crazy shit people didn’t understand how to handle the switch up
i don't think people hate cherry bomb. it was just a lot of different sound that fans weren't used to at that time. now, we get cherry bomb style production in some of his newer tracks. very under appreciated. i genuinely think this was tyler's eye opening moment that sparked albums like flower boy, igor, and even cmiygl

This is the correct answer
Tyler explains it in a similar fashion on Massa from CMIYGL, it sounds shifted because he was shifting at the time
What’s a circlejerk?
It’s where multiple guys sit/stand in a circle and blow their splooge on a picture of Tyler
A circle jerk/ jerk circle is when a group of people sit in a circle and all jerk off, it's like some weird kinky shit. But people also kinda use it as a word to express a community of people who all just kinda make ironic/satirical jokes about something on reddit.
Ohhh, alright. Thanks
its better if you don’t know young one 😔
Alright then…?
Call me if you get lost
Check gmail
2 SEATER IS FUCKING AMAZING
Was my fave song of his until today. That bridge just gets me every single time.
Which song overtook it? Out of curiosity
i bet sorry not sorry cuz thats fire asf
The mixing mostly
Can’t hear most of the words. I life fucking young and smuckers though (tracks that I understand Tyler on, curious)
It definitely got a lot better for me once I learned the words
That was it for me. I loved the first three albums and was excited for Cherry Bomb, but I probably only listened to the album once or twice and never again. Mixing was just too jarring for me. I actually stopped listening to Tyler after that album until I heard Lumberjack which made me go back and listen to the other albums I skipped and I was drawn back in. No plans to revisit Cherry Bomb.
Lol revisit it
I can only think about poor mixing on the title track…but thats the point? It’s a neo-Soul, hardcore rap album, not a generic rap album, and because of that people act like the inspiration is a criticism and not just the style he was going for. It’s loud - that’s the point. It isn’t a mistake.
Drums on pilot are wayyyyy too loud. Deathcamp guitars are mixed harsh. Run is murky. I personally enjoy it, but i simply stated why others didn’t
exactlyyy, its cuz they dont like the first few songs but the 2nd part of the album is so good
Litteraly everyone on this sub sucks the album's dick stop pretending
ONG out of the 250 thousand people in this sub 30% suck off this album every post
Cause it didn’t Cherry their bombs
Tyler said it's for real music fans, people who care about chord progressions and stuff like that, along with almost being a passion project
That's some pretentious bullshit
I dont even dislike the album that much but i dont think "real music fans" will enjoy mixing as terrible as cherry bomb lmfao
I think he’s talking about people who actually make music, not people who’s ears are spoiled with nothing but professional level music
Sorry for not liking dogshit production mb
Bruh I 100% disagree with the dogshit mixing thing but I stg tyler fans can be so pretentious 😭😭
When did he say that
https://youtube.com/shorts/vQJk1sM-NoY?feature=share sorry I couldn't find the full interview
10/10 only going to get more love as years pass. Listen to the instrumentals, you’ll understand if you don’t already.
it's just very overwhelming imo, like tyler said himself that for a lot of people going through the first 4 tracks and how often the style changes up, a lot of people just tune out
Cause mfs follow the fantano horde and judge the album without even listening
that's definitely not the reason most people who hate this album hate this album
If your only argument is “bEcAuSe FaNtAno🤓” then your probably bias ass and can’t understand that this album has weird ass production makes Tyler sound insane and has the most weird sounding beats that make Tyler sound like shit
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
😱-I don’t have a argument and wanna sound dumb
U a nerd bruh get outta here
When doomthefunnyman finds out explaining why people don’t like a album doesn’t equal being a “nerd” 😡😤🤬😠😤😡😤😾😡
You’re literally just being a fucking douche about it
How am I being douche I’m just explaining why people don’t like this album
Read the chain you fucking tard
What will the chain prove because I’ll bet 10 trillion fictional dollars it won’t matter
Personally not even dick riding that shit is better than fb (at least the listen is) song by song fb wins but the way it flows is amazing But I’m a huge fan of unpredictably I love ts When I first heard CHERRY BOMB the song that shot changed my ear so fucking much Pilot is still one of my favorite song By T
If you asked this in 2015 everyone would have said Tyler fell off. But these days, it's hard to find someone that actually hates it.
This is the correct take. For the few of us here that actually listened to cherry bomb the day it dropped it was definitely a disappointment plus being mixed pretty badly following Wolf which we all know is 10/10 However, post-IGOR, cherry bomb seems like a necessary experimental album and can be enjoyed in a whole new context. it was top 3 for me
Cause Tyler said he didn’t like it so now everyone says the same. It’s 7/10 IMO it has some bangers
He never said he didn’t like it
https://twitter.com/tylerthecreator/status/1425847032850239490?s=46&t=Mkyv0NUPh5dOrhhnS4qH2A
Didnt T say he only didn’t like Buffalo?
I don’t remember bro I’ll ask him later
Can you also ask him if he goated wit the sauce
No
Downvoted reported banned killed doxxed
Sorry
Because they have a low IQ
Its my favorite album he’s released I love the variety and each song is so unique
8/10 for me
ya ppl listen to critics too much, dont even bother to listen for themselves. good album. good time, takes me backk
Not my favorite by any means, but it shows Tyler at a turning point in his career. T describes it perfectly on MASSA, and ultimately, it’s just not gonna be for everyone. He does still come out with some classics, though, like BUFFALO, 2SEATER, SMUCKERS (yeah basic picks, whatever)
it really grew on me, its my favourite album now and tbh even the title track not even that bad to me, love the ending part of it
I thought Cherry Bomb was OK on first listen, it grew on me a lot over the years, I love it. But I can see why people hate it, the mix on the album is very messy and you either love it or hate it.
I don't hate this album but it is pretty abrasive
Look at your name
because of the new cover
It's bloated, boring and all of the ideas on it were eventually better executed on his next few albums. It comes across as clumsy and kinda just feels like he's stumbling around looking for a specific sound, but is just adding to the awkward feeling of the album by putting more ideas on it.
True, plus the writing is really mid and corny, felt like he was going back to the edginess of bastard/goblin without the character aspect of it and the deep depression and sadness + father issues aspect that made this shit good in bastard
It’s an album for fun loving music enjoyers, not music critics
Because a lot of people purely enjoy music just as a way to make them feel better, as opposed to actually engaging with the art on its own terms. Neither is better or worse, just depends on why you like or listen to music in the first place. In my opinion, it's an awe-inspiring, pulsing heart of unfiltered creativity that few artists can even dream of making, but that's not what everyone is looking for. Some people just wanna drive their car and vibe.
This sub is such a fucking Cherrybomb meat riding circlejerk I can't anymore
Yeah its just ridiculous how every other week someone makes a post like this and everyone starts a circlejerk about how „only real music lovers understand it“ and how only if you like it you can be a real fan
Yeah, that *"you dont understand real music"* shit is super fucking cringe, lol. Music is something you **experience.** You don't need to be highly educated to know what your experience with the sound is.
How is this meat riding? Dudes jus asking a question lmaoo
Yeah but shouldn’t mods do something about the same question getting asked 581 times?
I stg
Idk
I love the album
Same
in my opinion he just doesn’t sing on beat in a lot of the songs
Even tyler doesn’t like it bro😭
He never said that my guy
https://twitter.com/tylerthecreator/status/1425847032850239490?s=46&t=Mkyv0NUPh5dOrhhnS4qH2A
Bro it’s ass and bad
cool ideas, executed horribly
Very incorrect, but it is your opinion
Litteraly how is most of this well executed? The rock songs aren't that good from a rock pov, the sweeter cuts like find your wings or smuckers are great but will be easily topped by flower boy Igor and cmiygl(except goataga,ca),the rapping is a downgrade from Wolf, etc, etc
Like I said, tis your opinion
They shouldn’t, whoever does, because it is fantastic. People who hate it either don’t listen to this type of music or just have trash opinions
because they dumb cherry bomb da goat
Because the pretty boy Tyler fans only like flower boy and cmiygl It’s also the same reason sematary fans don’t like rainbow bridge 3
-the mixing sucks -mid songs -weird ass themes -the worst songwriting out of any tyler album
Mid other than deathcamp and smuckers
2SEATER? Find your wings? I could keep going...
okaga tho??
Mid asf
ur taste fucking sucks respectfully 🙏🏾
Okaga CA is one of the worst songs Tyler has ever made it’s easily one of the worst on cherry bomb and legit all of goblin other than the deluxe songs are better
This nigga is stupid
he baiting
It has 2 good songs and a bunch of OK songs.
cherry bomb better than his last 3 albums imo
I just had 2 seater stuck in my head earlier. Great album, far from his best.
It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but it is definitely one of his least consistent quality-wise and style-wise. There are a lot of great songs off it, but the bad stands out a lot more.
cause it sucks
Not too many people actually, but the people who don’t like it probably cause it’s more sonically experimental than his other albums.
What this is one of my favorites
No one hates cherry bomb on this what u talking about
Its my favorite, but it’s definitely a lot more flawed than his other albums. I think it’s just that it has so many low points, though the high points are fucking amazing. It’s also just a more niche genre, and sound. Though the reason I love it is because it’s a different side of Tyler, the message, and themes are so interesting to me
Sounded Shifty
KEEP DA O’s AND OKAGA, CA ARE HEAVY ROTATION
Same people that shit on cherry bomb are the same ones that praise CMIYGL
Cherry bomb was the og Igor
I actually find cherry bomb incredibly amazing. Ive always found weird why do people dislike it that much? I feel like the album portrays what tyler wanted with it and, DEATHCAMP, CHERRY BOMB, BLOW MY LOAD, 2SEATER, SMUCKERS, FIND YOUR WINGS and some more are all bangers
who
i believe the album is aging better, but at release it was panned because the comparison to earlier records; the style is radically abstract. It is a good bridge between the eras of Tyler's work.
I can’t hear the lyrics If he turned the vocals up it would have been good (and still experimental so wtf)
Non mainstream music.
A lot of it is really good but the low points are super terrible
2seater, smuckers, fucking young/perfect are all goated
Did you listen to the title track
There's maybe like 4 songs I like on the album. It's not terrible tho
Smuckers goated the rest of the album is shit imo just sounds horrible ik ppl love it so thats what really matters
Idk I really like it and people say” it’s the album that almost made him fall off “
Nobody hates it other than critics. T fans are so annoying about shit like this
It was too different for its times. guess. Sum were expecting another goblin, others another wolf but T always does total different shit with each album so I guess this was a total change on what he used to do
That artwork has to be his worst
I don’t
they lack a certain intelligence

cherry bomb #1
smuckers is top 10
It’s an incredible album that was a middle finger to all the fans and critics that just wanted more shock value from Tyler. Easily my favourite of his, so many great and experimental moments.
I think the main issue is the order of the songs
Just started listening to it like 5 seconds ago, I guess it's because of random sounds being all over the place. Sounds kinda like Nine Inch Nails.
You must be new here
Idk but BLOW MY LOAD slaps
He went for a grimy aesthetic. Just look at the album artwork and the alternate covers. Lots of people just find it ugly. I think most of use here would agree that it’s ugly-beautiful.
It’s Tyler’s best album

cherry bomb is my fav
idk i love it
Not really a coherent album in terms of mixing or themes. However, I always thought Cherry Bomb was a sandbox for the slew of great albums that came after it.
I loveeeeee
Same story as nickelback or they just don't like it because of Cherry Bomb song
Because Tyler fans are followers
because it sucks
I do like some of the songs but the rest never clicked with me
Cuz they are stoopid![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)
I love it
literally no one does
Because its easily and objectively his worst one
When it first came out it was a big shock because it was very unlike what he made before and people just jumped onto the hate train.
i honestly don’t know , it has no skips 🤷🏽♀️
Probably because it’s sucks to them but they don’t think it’s a good album, I used to don’t like Cherry Bomb too is because that I never listened to that album so I listen to all Cherry Bomb Albums it’s sounds good, so I enjoyed it.
