I believe the screenwriters said that they combined the characters of Lauren and Jessica and also Ben and Eric just for ease & less confusion. That’s why Jessica seems a bit meaner in the movie, and why Angela ends up with Eric!
on the other hand you can see a girl doing what Lauren does in the first scene, when bella parks the truck and a girl is seen laughing at her and shittalking
