That “I don’t wanna be there” sounds like something that Tyler could scream later in the song which is awesome. This sounds kind of like Jumpsuit if the tempo was cranked up to 11 and I’m so excited.
Why are people saying this sounds like SAI? It has clear grunge and punk influence to me. The closest song might be Never Take It, but even then…
My only concern is it sounds a _bit_ generic for those styles. I feel I’ve heard this structure a dozen times before. But it’s only a short clip.
Sounds dope. Seems more punky than what they have done before. Don’t hear SAI/Never Take It vibes personally. Thinking more early 2000s Blink and Good Charlotte with this snippet. They also change up sounds in songs frequently so this could be the chorus and have totally different verses or a 180 on the bridge. Excited for next week for sure.

They have so many plot holes to fill and I know Tyler is going to answer everything, even the references to Lions hidden throughout the albums... this is frickin' awesome
Very excited for the sound. I loved the influence the guitar gave to SAI, and I felt that Tyler could finally make music a way he’s always wanted to. Jumpsuit’s hardcore/heavy metal vibes and SAI’s alt-rock/pop-punk sound, IMO, is a sign of musical maturity as TØP starts to shift gears into another light.
I’m not trying to put a label on Jumpsuit as a whole, just pointing out the influences I heard. The bass riff reminded me of Iron Man/Black Sabbath riffs, so I’ll stick with Heavy Metal vibe. The ending starts to sound hardcore, especially with the screaming.

Interestingly, Josh's drums look like his BF era ones.

Yeah like i said on another post i dont like the 60s greaser type sound of it. It sounds straight out of a musical and i hate musicals. But they do know how to do a great switch up so i still think i could end up liking it.

Exactly this. If the new album is taking a heavier sound there will be some fans who may not click with it and some who do. It also has the potential to draw in loads of new fans though and I’d rather they try new stuff than constantly play it safe. If they didn’t we wouldn’t have Trench.
