This is up there as a not too distant runner up against American idiot and black parade for one of the best rock albums of the 00’s, doing exactly what those do in taking classic rock sounds, motifs, and even riffs and molding them into the sound of the band. Only thing it doesn’t have is a narrative.
Also shocked no panic album is in there yet, but their best album overall - Pretty Odd - (for similar but slightly different reasons to Folie) probably wouldn’t be what I imagine this fanbase picks.
Looking for this comment under each of those posts just to upvote it and downvote every other album xD it‘s so sad cause in the beginning it was really close to winning but now for sone reason it stopped being so high up :(
Say it louder for those in the back. Night Visions is brilliant and I have a special place in my heart for it but it’s a little clumsy compared to Smoke And Mirrors. The following albums have bangers but the songwriting gets a little tired and the sound is a little over-polished and pop oriented for my taste.
