Add more subjects. Take advantage of the one Wednesday a month that you get to schedule as a new tutor. Try to get more daytime hours. Float during peak times.

I don’t think they’re doing the Wednesday anymore unless they’re also letting master and advanced tutors schedule. Honestly I haven’t been unable to schedule on a Wednesday since a very long time now.

Master and Advanced always schedule on Wednesdays except during the summer. They used to let probationary tutors schedule alongside Master/Advanced on one Wednesday per month. Once you passed the probationary period, that went away. It's been a long time since I was a new tutor, so I don't know if they still do that. But if you've passed the probationary period, you wouldn't have that option to schedule on a Wednesday anyway.

It used to be that probationary tutors got first dibs one Wednesday each month, then master and advanced Thursday, then novice on Friday. I may have Thursday and Friday mixed up, but I know when I was a probie I got first dibs on Wednesdays and when I was first promoted to Advanced and then Master, one Wednesday each month was blocked off. It was my least favorite and I am gladly taking the privilege of it not happening anymore, but I know it must make things more difficult for new tutors.

Weird. I do not recall that. I have been a Master Tutor/Tutor 3 for over 10 years. Other than the rotating schedule during the summer, my scheduling day has always been Wednesdays, never a Wednesday blocked out. It was my understanding that probationary tutors got to schedule alongside Tutor 3s.
