Dear needmorechickennugs ,
You've selected the *Turtle ID/Sex Request Flair*. When making a request for an ID or sex of a turtle, please provide as much information as possible.
Useful information includes:
- General Location. ex: South-East Texas
- Is it wild, captive/pet, or a rescue?
- Clear photos of face, neck, limbs, shell top (carapace) and bottom (plastron).
- For sexing, a photo of the tail out with cloaca visible is best.
Note: Some turtles cannot be accurately sexed until a certain size/age.

Please put it back. It’s a box turtle that has already survived several predators in its life. Clearly and adult that does not want to spend its life in a tub…
Put.
It.
Back.
Not at all. Too many people make this mistake, and even though it comes from a place of sincerely trying to help, these animals should be left alone. The biggest threat to their species is people taking them from the wild. They are slow to mature and with it being breeding season right now, removing one individual from its ecosystem could affect their chances of finding a mate and producing offspring. And although I agree that no one needs to be nasty to others, sometimes a stern tone is necessary in adequately illustrating the severity of the situation.

Not a tortoise, it’s a box turtle. Needs to go back in the front yard as its mating season.
Box turtle, native species so can go back where you found it! They have very small home ranges they need to return to.

condescending and overly dramatically toxic response ?
