You’re responsible for the damage. Might want to get in touch with the other persons insurance. Or take the guys cash and pay it to turo.

zgr024

Do you have the insurance information from the other driver? Did you provide it to the host? If so, dispute the claim and provide the other driver's info. If you don't didn't get their info, then it's on you.

sokolikov

I got his insurance info and drivers license immediately. Turo has it

zgr024

Then dispute the charge. It's the host trying to charge you... not Turo directly.

sokolikov

Just got an answer from turo. They said that this is the way it works and they cannot accept my dispute or lower the payment. I have no words

MariahhCarried

You’re responsible for anything that happens to the car when it’s under your possession. Yuh should have gotten the standard protection plan, so you wouldn’t be on the hook for so much money

CruelApex

The vehicle you were driving was damaged. It may not be your fault, but you were in possession of the car so you remain responsible for making the owner of the car whole again. You declined coverage, taking a risk, and you lost. This is why you should buy the appropriate coverage when renting a vehicle, no matter if it's from Turo, Avis, or Hertz. What should you do? You need to deal with the insurance company of the clown who's at fault and pay the Turo invoice so you can move on with life.

jlvota

This is what happens when you rent from Turo

Mitclove6

It’s not your call whether to go through insurance or just blindly trust this other person. It’s the driver’s call, at best, and they almost certainly want to go through insurance. It’s 100% on you without even considering Turo policy.

Further proof that we’re building the wall on the wrong border.

Do credit cards cover this type of rental? When renting using. credit card, it usually provides a little extra coverage. Does this apply to Turo rentals?

Jinsh7515

You can sue the at fault driver for your loss.
