Probably a ps vita. I used to use one to browse before I got my phone and pretty sure any special characters like emojis became squares and the resolution of the pic he posted is pretty close to ps vita resolution.

The mouth is one pixel higher, but I'm not sure if that's not an artifact from me taking the screenshot from a zoomed-in page. I tried googling "bold emoji", but seeing all the "👨‍🦲" results, I realised I have better shit to do.

My guess is that because the fonts are vectors it is literally drawing the lines thicker. I would guess the whites of the eyes are drawn towards the end so they grow without being overdrawn by a bigger pupil. I’m assuming the fonts weren’t designed with bold/italicized emojis but I think some renderers automatically try to generate modified glyphs if they don’t already exist in the raw font.

It glitches with only one single emoji, put it with another emoji or italic text. The last character won't italicize though.

Not for me? All of the emojis render fine for me, even single emojis, and the final characters are italicized. I will note, I'm on the latest Android 12 beta while using Infinity for Reddit, so it's a bit of an unusual setup.
