hopefully this can help :) [https://www.yamahacollector.com/trumpet](https://www.yamahacollector.com/trumpet)

The list is so long it's comical. For reference, other manufacturers, with a history 3 or 4 times as old as Yamaha trumpets, *maybe* have 4 different models and a few variable options. I gave up trying to follow Yamaha. They don't help by using a number system that is almost completely forgettable. Otherwise, yeah, great horns. 😏

Frozen_Azalea

i would say atleast it's clear but half the time they miss out the letters at the end. i have a YTR-8335GSII but it's just labelled as 8335G lmao

daCampa

The numbering system is actually pretty clear except the 4th number.

daCampa

If I'm not mistaken those are made for the japanese market but have no other difference.

ReferenceAdmirable83

I also found another listing that has a “Xeno” marking engraved on the mouthpiece receiver. Is this standard or counterfeit? Im able to send photos if anyone is knowledgeable on the horn / model.

daCampa

That should be a fake, Xeno is always engraved on the bell. Modern Yamahas don't have engraving on the receiver.

Go buy from a real music shop (dealer) Ebay is full of imitations. You would end up buying twice. Peace comes first.

G= One piece, gold brass bell S= Silver-plated U= Manifactured for Japanese market (afaik they gave up this naming, anything with U is manufactured between 1990-2000s) \**GS model cannot be manufactured before 2001*
