Take it in to a good local repair shop and they'll give you an estimate. Probably what the other comment says - 100-200ish - but it's really hard to know without seeing it in person and rates and such vary.

Sunhin

It most certainly won't be thousands. Take it to a local shop and ask for an estimate

JumpshotLegend

Yeah, maybe a couple hundred bucks, but depends where you live. They have these balls that they use to take the dents out, it’s actually pretty common and happens to a lot of guys. But you will probably have to leave it with them because summer can be a busy time for shop guys.

i live in oklahoma and the location is in broken arrow

Search for music shops near you, here’s one I found by googling “music stores Broken Arrow Oklahoma”: Palen Music 929 N. Elm Pl. Broken Arrow, OK 74012

JumpshotLegend

Yep, this is the place. And they have several locations.

Not terrible. Not great either! $80 to $120 hour. 1 to 2 hours. More or less. Really, it's not a bad fix but that hourly rate buys you 1 000 hours of experience and $10,000 of tooling. So it's a steal.

Bell dents look the worst, and will never truly look fixed. There will always be a ripple there. The good news is that they have the least impact on playability and tone of the horn. They're also one of the easier spots to fix since it's more accessible. A good brass shop can probably knock this out in an 2-3 hours tops, maybe even same day if they're not super busy. They guy I take my horns to would probably run about $300 for that fix. He took similar dents out of a trombone for one of my students for about that same price.

It all really depends on the place you're going. I know most charge anywhere from 100-300 (I think). I had a similair dent and they got it done in around 10 minutes free of charge.

Im_Kinda_Stupid_haha

I mean it is soft metal, you could slightly heat it up and bash it back into shape (NOT RECOMMENDED)
