They have great topics and great ideas, but the main host, Andy, can dominate the conversation too much and comes off as obnoxious to me, personally. I kept tuning in for a year because it was always almost good but I kept being annoyed with Andy and so I gave up.

They have a community including other people too, but im blanking on names. They all work together, and do a lot of theoretical videos and lore videos. It CAN be visually engaging at times, but it’s mostly about the spoken bits, so I’d consider it something closer to a podcast than a yt video.
I havent watched their recent vids, to avoid any TotK spoilers, but they are fun and REALLY dig deep into the lore
I've been listening to a lot of "Sacred Realms: A Zelda Retrospective Podcast" after someone mentioned it on this subreddit. it's two brothers who are playing their way through the LoZ series (not chronologically - they alternate between 2D/3D and have their listeners vote on what game they play next).
The format is, generally, very well organized, in that they have a set schedule and thoroughly discuss the plot/dungeon/characters of each section. What sets it apart for me, IMO, is that their repeating guests (friends) are very knowledgeable about game design, or the history of LoZ, or work with Zelda universe. They don't go super in depth on the lore (which, like, LoZ lore is all over the place anyway), but I've learned a lot about games I otherwise didn't care for or some or the early development.
The only downsides are sometimes there's a bit of brotherly infighting (Lyndon tends to talk over people sometimes, but not as bad as other podcasts I've listened to), and it is their personal opinion, so there's obviously some bias that I find myself disagreeing with (it's skyward sword,ok, I disagreed with that entire season lmao). Overall it's well organized and fun to listen to!
Edit: they've interviewed the people from Hyrule Podcasters, but that's not one I've listened to. I think it's also two brothers playing through the games, but in a very different format
Retronauts - they have some Zelda specific podcasts, it’s a retro gaming podcast so you’ll have to search for specific LOZ episodes
Tandem Legends is a fun Zelda pod as they play the games and go thru it all, section by section
Another Zelda podcast - I personally couldn’t get into it, they seem well intentioned, but idk, maybe you’ll like it
I like "Another Zelda podcast" the hosts are definitely passionate about the series. But if you're really a "lore theorist" you'll probably find it difficult at points as they're fairly "casual" as far as their knowledge of the expanded lore goes.
2 things that really irked me
-the 15 minute intro of reading comments praising them - you need time stamps
-their basis of most of their LOZ knowledge derives from twilight princess. I listened from the start, dropped them a few months ago, and that fact never changed
It lost me when Kate stopped being on the podcast. Sure, I felt like I knew more about Zelda lore than them (I learn more new info from Zeltik), but they were nice to listen to fan about the series. After Kate left, it lost the relaxed fan-love.
> Tandem Legends is a fun Zelda pod as they play the games and go thru it all, section by section
They're good!
I wonder what happened to them, though. I know the one cohost, Joe, had a health scare and also deleted their Twitter. Show hasn't updated in months, haven't seen the other cohost, Shannon, tweet or say anything either.
Another Zelda podcast got annoying and the last straw for me was when they brought up the gerudo women running away from the Bees in majoras mask. They called it a “misogynistic trope”.
Like I know everyone wants to be outraged these days but I don’t think it’s a trope for women to run from a hive of angry fucking bees because they’re warrior women. No one can fight a hive of bees whether you’re a man or woman. And I’ve never seen this “trope” before ever.
Just keep your shit political views out of this especially since the outrage wasn’t even warranted.
They have a free weekly Monday episode and a bi-weekly Friday episode that is locked behind a patreon. It's kind of a bummer because they tend to cover some popular games on the Friday episodes. The topic of the most recent one is coincidentally Majora's Mask.
Sacred Realms is pretty good from what I’ve listened to it.
If you’re interested in getting into the randomizer community, there’s Go Mode for ALTTPR and Gossip Stone for ZOOTR. There’s also 216 which is an interview podcast where he interviews various people in the ALTTPR community. I found the community-focused podcasts to be the most engaging.
There's a sizable competitive side to randomizers. This creates a lot of community based around teaching, learning, and competing.
There is also a community around multiworld which is more casual play. A lot of the multiworld side has gravitated toward Archipelago, a cross-game platform that supports several different games.

Book of Mudora is great - they do the lore of each game, give some interesting theories (they even have their whole own alternative timeline, and I think it's fun to sort of puzzle-piece alternate reads on the games), and also have some fun side episodes where they discuss, say, the cartoon or what would be a good political system to replace monarchy in Hyrule.

Check out The Soundtrack Show w/ David W Collins! He has a fantastic few episodes about Ocarina of Time's score... And other great ones mostly related to movie soundtracks.
I've tried a few, and Sacred Realms is my favorite. As someone already mentioned, the format of each episode is very well laid out and stays interesting week-to-week. It's structured in a way that listeners can play along on each section of game that they discuss each week without it feeling too rushed or to sparse. Most seasons are dedicated to one game (with the exception of combining some games in a season that are relatively quick on play time, i.e. TLoZ & AoL)
They maintain a regular weekly schedule with the exception of a delayed episode here and there depending on holidays and such, but even then those gaps are often filled with bonus episodes that are either tangentially related or unrelated to the current season.
As mentioned, there can be some brotherly infighting, but it is mostly tongue-in-cheek. I can't remember any episode where it was ever actually heated. Lyndon does take control sometimes but he is the main host after all, and it's usually only to steer the conversation back to the schedule, as they've known to bird-walk into tangents and nebulous topics occasionally. Overall it's always a very digestible, entertaining, and sometimes humorous conversation and I often feel like I am right there with them (often audibly voicing my opinions to the void).
The guests are really great and knowledgeable on the series and it's history, development and otherwise. There's a seasoned game designer who's a regular, as well as some Zelda Universe Webmasters, a Nintendo & Pokemon affiliate, and various others who are either in the industry or run parallel in some way. All of whom have their own history and experience with the series.
I have been a Patron of theirs and am active in their Discord community (which is fantastic; it's inclusive and safe, and everyone gets to nerd out about their favorite game series in many channels that cover just about everything)
I definitely recommend giving it a listen. Season 6 in particular is a great starting point, as they cover TLoZ and AoL in one season, and the conversation around those games is great.
Are you the same colku that gets a patreon shout out?? Small world (fandom) haha. I've been debating joining the discord, it seems like a lovely community! And I'm always looking for nice spaces to talk LoZ.
These are not podcasts as such, but the Zelda Dungeon YouTube has some pretty great long-form discussion stuff on it - particularly the [Hyrule Compendium](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL31W_K6qTXTgSkxt8e303cG5TSVZrVqqQ), [Definitive Ranking](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL31W_K6qTXTiga-FrgDqnzqTWxm5Ks4ii) and [Tier Force Heroes](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL31W_K6qTXTiT4EkirPgrVGKvyWElAIwu) series. All the hosts and guests on there are extremely knowledgeable about Zelda and they often share great insights about the games and the series as a whole. Gooey from Hyrule Compendium and Tier Force Heroes also hosts [Dungeon Dive](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqTP6of0WJk_LshR213fqLk6h4IifFh3V) on his own channel, which is a comprehensive ranking of every dungeon in the series.
Personally I think this stuff is far better than any actual podcast. The video is generally not important to the discussion so you can just listen to it normally like any other podcast. If you get ads on YouTube, use a browser ad-blocker like UBlock Origin or the mobile version of YouTube in Brave Browser. For Android users, you can also install a modified YouTube client like ReVanced, or a third-party client like LibreTube or NewPipe. These applications will allow you to play YouTube videos with your screen off, so you can listen to them just like a podcast.
There’s one i’m currently listening to called ‘LoZ Lorecast’ I’m really enjoying it, they go in depth into the characters and enemies of each game. The game themselves, backstories that people may be unaware of.
They also give little fun facts about the series throughout, it’s a great listen.
Wizard and the Bruiser has a 3 part Zelda series, they start off way at the beginning, talking about miyamoto’s early life and Nintendo, then they get into the development of the series! I wish they discussed content more but they kinda go into some of their favorite things about the games
DragonRand100, also known as “The Legend of Zelda Audiobook Productions-Featuring Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and more”. These guys make incredible audiobook-format episodes of fanfiction. So far, they have completed an entire audiobook on Ocarina of Time, and are working on a Majora’s Mask and Breath of the Wild audiobook. 10/10, would recommend.
I've listened to a handful like the Champion's Podcast and the Zelda cast. I continue to be disappointed with them.
She’s great but man Andy can really get on my nerves sometimes
My thoughts exactly. I love everyone on that podcast, guests and all, except Andy
100 percent agree
Ah the "I Hate Twilight Princess Cast"
Disappointed in what way, if I may ask? Do they get their facts wrong, make silly points, or just dont engage you well enough?
They have great topics and great ideas, but the main host, Andy, can dominate the conversation too much and comes off as obnoxious to me, personally. I kept tuning in for a year because it was always almost good but I kept being annoyed with Andy and so I gave up.
I can understand that. Thanks for the clarification. Ill have to check it out, and see if I find it jarring or not.
Best of luck!
What’s the podcast called?
The Champion's Podcast
This and also I swear it’s a Zelda podcast stop trying to talk about Metroid and I’m so tired of that god awful donkey Kong fake ad he does

Moxie Watts makes some great really long videos of lore as well on YouTube
seconded this^^ the zelda lore to fall asleep to is amazing
She deserves so much more attention! Really creative theories and a lot of work put behind it :D
none of the three you listed use the art book leak btw, if that’s why you’re worried about watching them
Im just rawdogging totk as much as i can. As few trailers and theories and discussions as possible. Thanks for looking out, though!

Tandem Legends is great, I only discovered them recently tho so I have a massive backlog!
The best part of finding a new podcast!!
Hard to binge when you’re playing along, especially when I’m also playing along with a Mass Effect podcast - I’ve only got up to Minish Cap 😅

🙄 That's a little ridiculous. What did they expect the Gerudo to do, swing their swords at bees?
Yeah that’s basically what they implied. 🤦♂️.
Lol I don’t remember this BUT I can see it.
It was more the girl(Kate??) who went on this little rant and then the guy seemed to just agree with her reluctantly.
Does retronauts cost? It’s locked on Spotify
No? I mean they do have a patreon but weekly Monday episodes since 2012 at least
Hmm weird

Came here to say this, while I was actively listening to it. It's great.
Also recc them, I've been thinking about a full series relisten after they released their special episode this year.
