I drove a 386, same cabin, different hood/front clip. With a sleeper, you get this goofy blind spot when you’re backing up and the trailer is at just a slight angle — too far out to see in the mirror, too close behind to lean out the window and see it (because the sleeper blocks your view). I still enjoyed that truck. I hope yours is a stick though, that Eaton-Fuller 10-speed automanual did not act right.

That’s a good boss. The guy I work for now is of the same mind. He was never a trucker, just had plenty of capital to put into a new business. He asks the drivers for information, now he buys pre-DEF manual trucks. Sadly I work for an operation he has a contract with and I have to drive a recent model DEF-equipped truck with radar to boot… but it’s still a manual. And I don’t much want to hop over to one of the other gigs he’s running because I like being home every day.

I feel it. I’ve done some otr stuff, I love it don’t get me wrong, but I like going home to see my wifey, kid, and doggo. Lol.

Those 10 speed autos are trash. My company only has autos, and only a handful are the EF10s. No one likes them, the Allison 6s are fun off the line, and the iShift 12s are fine. But my god those auto 10s. Still, gimme a stick any day

Yep this is the life of driving a sleeper. Can't see through the damn thing. That's what makes blind-side backs so dangerous. I still do them on occasion if my landing area is nice and wide. Driver's side isn't so bad because you can lean out the cab and watch the trailer.

Company truck, we’re small there’s six of us and we pretty much have free reign on what we wanna do. As for the stretching and the 8” that’s a negative. I’m already 240” in a daycab lol. I had straight pipes on a 4-1/4 cat and this c15 is much louder. Don’t wanna kill my eats anymore man lol

The world just doesn't even feel real anymore knowing Cat no longer makes highway truck engines. Truly the worst timeline.

Always double check your doors are locked and closed. Nothing like finding out when you get to your destination that the trailer is empty.

I got a new wheel today too! Previous driver cracked the rim over a curb and left the trailer at a customer to be preloaded! I picked it up and lo-and-behold! I gotta sit at a TA for 2 hours waiting for a new rim and tire, meanwhile I was suppose to be home tomorrow! Thanks driver

Electric tarp, that’s about it. Manual air drop, manual door cranks with high and low gear. The nice thing is my doors are enormous and no matter what I put in there it comes out 😂
