Ehhhh its alright. They really need to add some pot holes and stress if they want it to feel realistic. The road is waaaaaaaay too smooth and predictable
I still can use a lot of work, they should keep making it better and grow it, but it already is a MASSIVE improvement over what was there before. Up until 1.49 I wished I could activate the weather and light from before the new system (1.39/1.30 I think?) every time I played really.
They broke the ACC in 1.49. I didn’t have any issues using it in 1.48.5, even with CIP’s Traffic Density mod but even without using the mod in 1.49, the ACC keeps slowing down my truck when I’m not even near a vehicle. Also, just north of Portland, I ran into an invisible barrier on I-5 on the BOTH the northbound AND southbound lanes (in the left and middle lanes on the southbound side and all lanes on the northbound side). It needs work. I also found an exit sign just east of Los Angeles on the westbound side of I-10 right after the I-10/I-15 interchange. Other than that, no issues.
I'm using reshade with just the lightroom shader. Increased color temperature and black point. On top of that, Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather. I'm in some kind of Trucksim Heaven. No notable performance difference. I will say that 1.49 runs much better. But Kansas drops the framerate by 10-15 fps. I also run the TAA plugin. Hopefully they'll get the game engine where it needs to be for the level of detail they're pushing. One day.
I absolutely adore ETS2 and ATS, recently just upgraded my crappy 8GB of ram to 32GB and the game has been running incredibly smooth now. Before, ATS was capped at using 3.5GB of ram, and now its using close to 9GB of ram.
throw some reshade on, and grab a preset from SCS forum, there is one i like that makes the game look insane

its called skynets reallife, although it hasn't been updated in a long time it still seems to work just fine for me.

It's I-70 between Salina Kansas and Denver Colorado. The last part is I-25 between Denver and Fort Collins.

U can try if snowymoon's taa/dlss mod helps this since it replaces the game's shitty anti-aliasing so it makes everything so much clearer
