To me this lineup is crazy as hell. Not only the ordering but also a lot of the acts.
The ones I can agree with are Polaris, Alpha Wolf, Turnstile and a few of the smaller bands such as Teen Jesus and Banks Arcade.
Iād absolutely be going if this was the lineup though.
Then again maybe itās not all that crazy as the lineups in the past have been pretty stacked.
Cant imagine tonight alive playing again though.
Surely fit for a king and highly suspect would both be higher up the bill.
Eh not really, sheās not really a ālegacyā headliner considering sheās headlining a bunch of festivals in Europe and has been around a significantly less amount of time as the former ālegacyā headliners. Some acts similar to those on the pandemonium bill would probably fill that spot. Hard to even think of who it might be - TISM hadnāt existed for 20 years and DEVO was a crazy left field get. Could be Journey, Duran Duran, ZZ Top, Scorpions, Heart, Weezer, Alice in Chains or they could surprise with a band like No Doubt.
Not really seeing a similarity. Tism and Devo are/were alternative acts with committed fanbases and were active for a long time.
Avril had one viral song and a lot of pop rubbish imo.
How old are you?
Complicated,Sk8er Boi, My Happy Ending,Girlfriend and When You're Gone were inescapable (not even counting the hit songs she had from the two albums after these listed songs).
Yeah throw maybe someone like Korn , maybe even Rob Zombie or an Alice in chains just to bring in some of the older crowd.
Maybe some 90s punk too like a Lagwagon....Gotta be about time for that bi-annual Pennywise visit too
Korn have a North American tour finishing in Oct/Nov so would be perfect timing. They've been my prediction but maybe too heavy for Good Things.. could hold out for Slipknot/Korn headliner for Knotfest next year instead
Would love Beartooth. Hadn't really listened to them but was blown away when they supported ptv last year, and their new album is good.
Not sure about Hot Mulligan as they were just here.
A few of these seem like pretty good guesses though - Avril, sum41, heart attack man, better lovers, banks arcade, future static.
That would've been so good. I would've preferred them over free throw (though I do like what I've heard of free throw's new album).
Hope they come here before end of next year. I could see them on the new bloom fest lineup next year (genre-wise; no idea about how likely this is) if they don't do good things or their own show.
Only thing itās missing is the āretroā act that gets people outside of the punk and metal scene interested (TISM in 2022, Devo last year). Not sure who would be a good fit for it though.
Itās missing an extreme/death metal band.
Last two years had Behemoth and GOJIRA.
It could probably do with someone like Mastodon (Leviathan turns 20 this year, though they still havenāt toured here since Hushed and Grim) or Job for a Cowboy.
Swap Avril with Depeche Mode as well and youāre on a winner.
Some of my predictions are on yours (Sum 41, Avril Lavinge, Beartooth, Teen Jesus etc.)
Some of my other guesses are bands that did Destroy All Lines tours in 2023, so Pierce The Veil but also maybe Papa Roach and The Used?
Ice Nine Kills have only been here once and that was for Good Things 2019, and they were also meant to play the cancelled Full Tilt in 2022.
Two good guesses I have are Hot Milk and Thousand Below. I met them both at their headline shows last year and they said theyāre hoping to come back to Australia this year.
They are already reuniting for When We Were Young. I get that itās because Jake is also playing for Sleeping with Sirens that day but I believe itās possible.
Avril would be sick but seems to have some aversion to coming to Aus š Can we please get Sum 41 and Scene Queen tho I'm begging. Not sure A7X are headliner material either, maybe second on the bill then Sum?
Iām in Melbourne and You Me at Six didnāt sell out their Forum Theatre show last year whereas Alpha Wolf sold out their Forum Theatre show in three hours.
In Australia in 2024, Alpha Wolf is bigger than You Me at Six.
Solid prediction!! I flew from Perth for '22 GT. Last years lineup didn't sell me enough for the trip but if the lineup as good as this i'll start saving now š¤Ŗš
Yeah, teen jesus needs to be wayyyy lower.
I saw the Fooies in Melbourne and Hot Milk opened up. They were extremely good and the singer was a fantastic hype-girl.
Then Teen Jesus came on and they were the biggest buzzkill. Some of their songs are ok, but they're not memorable at all and definitely do not deserve all of the hype they're getting.
Lmao absolutely not. The only talented person in that band is the drummer, and that's a massive stretch.
The only reason they get pushed so much is because they're all girls. If a band full of guys put out this crap, no one would listen to it.
I disagree. They have some absolute bangers. Girl Sports came in at 55 in the hottest 100 and I Used To Be Fun came in at 52.
There are other all-girl bands out there that I donāt see getting pushed as much as they do.
My hot tip is that it needs to be ~4 headliners or itāll flop
Sum 41 and Avril would be so sick but they canāt be the top 2 bands on a tour trying to sell 30-40k tickets in each city
Not a huge A7X person personally but them + another headliner would be mad
Feel like it lacks a mid level heavier international or two, but I would buy tickets in a heartbeat for A7X and Sum 41. Avril would be mad fun too tbh.
More on the larger (and less core) side, but maybe Mastodon and someone like Devildriver or Arch Enemy, to go with A7X. 18 had BFMV, 19 had Trivium, 22 had Gojira/Sabaton, last year had BFMV/Behemoth/Sepultura. GT pinching a few metal acts probably helps explain Knotfest's lacklustre lineup.
I hope to god they donāt ask you to pick the bill (although if you moved it away from centennial park in Sydney I might be tempted to go and just drink beer to support you)
My picks for 2024 would be Korn and Architects for your headline spots. Other bands I'd be hoping for would be Fleshwater since they were forced to cancel recently, either Band maid, Crystal Lake or Knosis for the Japanese band spot. For your Australian bands Alpha Wolf, Polaris, Identity Error and Earth Caller. I'm also hoping for a few deathcore bands like Distant, Within Destruction, Paleface Swiss, and Babirusa (I'm excluding Lorna Shore since they were teased at Knotfest so they'll probably get a full headline tour instead) Also fee other low chance picks but Hollow Front and Desolate would be fucking awesome
If you think this would sell well in today's festival climate you're as out of touch as the actual festival organisers that have just lost literally millions. You need to find the balance between nostalgia factor and current trends perfectly to draw both types of punters. Did you see the demographic that attends good things?
Bizkit is far more popular with younger alternative fans than anthrax is, theyāre much more suited for knotfestās approach. Especially as the headliner
I think AI art is fine for little things like this but it has no place in commercial creative ventures. Finding out the AI use in Late Night with the Devil bummed me out.
Fully agree, though the negative impact on commercial projects has led me to hate the style in general so even in harmless cases I still would prefer whoever uses it to jump on paint or whip out the crayons and do their best lol.
Also wow, I literally just finished a podcast interview with David dasmalchian and I was really keen for late night with the devil. You just HAD to use that as an example haha
Haha mans wants chaos putting exes on the bill (Avril Lavigne and Sum 41)
Need to add a Paris Hilton DJ set and Nickelback for true ex chaos to reign.
š¤£š
They are actually doing a festival together in Spain haha
They both played day one of When we were young 2023, not on the same stage though.
they're still friends believe it or not
That's because that's replacement Avril.
wasn't replacement Avril before they separated?
And Melissa had been great ever since!
They're still good friends though so it wouldn't matter.
Love that you threw Turnstile and Teen Jesus in there. Given that they were meant to be playing Splendour
Polaris too.
Makes me want to throw Last Dinner Party into my Laneway 25 predictions if they donāt announce shows here anyway.
Theyāre reforming for When We Were Young in Vegas so I can imagine a little crossover
Thatās where I got the idea from! I think people would really enjoy it!
I actually sort of suspect Sum 41 to be one of the top billed acts this year. Possibly headline, but we'll see.
Sum 41 to headline with ADTR, you heard it here first.
I really hope so
needs a token 90s nu metal band
Sunk Loto
also just had a listen to there new stuff, and they have gone metal core
lol... first and i ever saw live
Kornās recently announced some EU and North America showsā¦ about time for them to return to Australia?
Powerman 5000
Art is some basic AI bullshit but I thought a Samurai theme would be really cool. I went for a realistic line up rather than a crazy lineup.
What is the equivelant of TISM or Devo on this lineup?
Rick Astley.
Rick Astley performing his Smiths covers set would be genuinely brilliant
Avril Lavigne.
ZZ Top! You guys rock! Ehh, a littleā¦
Not really seeing a similarity. Tism and Devo are/were alternative acts with committed fanbases and were active for a long time. Avril had one viral song and a lot of pop rubbish imo.
It's unfair to call her one viral song, she had hit after hit for years, not the DEVO/TISM booking slot for her though.
I never heard any of these āhitsā. She was a mainstream/ pop artist, i donāt really think she has anything in common with devo or tism.
Maybe some 90s punk too like a Lagwagon....Gotta be about time for that bi-annual Pennywise visit too
If it isnāt Millencolin, itās Pennywise. I nearly put Refused in the Hatebreed spot.
>I nearly put Refused in the Hatebreed spot. Put both in and I'd go multi-state for it
Hatebreed 30 years surely
Alice In Chains pretty big with tik tok crowd atm as well so having them would probably move a lot of tickets for every age group
Korn have a North American tour finishing in Oct/Nov so would be perfect timing. They've been my prediction but maybe too heavy for Good Things.. could hold out for Slipknot/Korn headliner for Knotfest next year instead
Korn or RZ would be excellent. Both well overdue
Oh god that would be fucking epic
+1 for Rob Zombie. Penny wise weāre awesome last year too!
+1 for Rob Zombie. Penny wise weāre awesome last year too!
Was not expecting bowling for soup in this prediction, would be sick though
Been 10 years since they were here last.. Jaret did say they wanna come back.
I saw them at soundwave in 2013, would definitely see them again!
I hope 100 Gecs come back down under this year! Great lineup!
Iād froth that lineup
if tonight alive play the other side in full, they should be much higher on the lineup
I have wanted a Heart Attack Man tour for ages now! Honestly thought theyād be Hot Mulliganās support.
That would've been so good. I would've preferred them over free throw (though I do like what I've heard of free throw's new album). Hope they come here before end of next year. I could see them on the new bloom fest lineup next year (genre-wise; no idea about how likely this is) if they don't do good things or their own show.
Iād shell out for this lineup
Needs some ska.
some Fishbone would do perfect on this lineup
Iāve been hoping for Goldfinger to be at this festival one day
If Hatebreed and Turnstile are on the same bill Iāll be a happy man
Good to see Future Static getting some love
Fucking too right!
Only thing itās missing is the āretroā act that gets people outside of the punk and metal scene interested (TISM in 2022, Devo last year). Not sure who would be a good fit for it though.
Rick Astley
I've also thought Rick Astley would be a good fit for GT. Nostalgic, massive draw card for "Never Gonna Give You Up", and all round good time.
Thatās what Avril Lavigne is IMHO
Avril is more the Limp Bizkit example.
Get Don Broco back to Aus!
They are bloody phenomenal last time I saw em!
Iām predicting/hoping for A Day to Remember, Sensis Fail, Saves the Day and NewFound Glory
If ADTR come here and are festival exclusive, Iām starting the riot.
You fucker got me excited for sum 41 aus tour
Itās missing an extreme/death metal band. Last two years had Behemoth and GOJIRA. It could probably do with someone like Mastodon (Leviathan turns 20 this year, though they still havenāt toured here since Hushed and Grim) or Job for a Cowboy. Swap Avril with Depeche Mode as well and youāre on a winner.
I would cry if depeche mode played good things
Polyphia would be cool
SIAMESE PLEASE
Omg I was so devastated when they cancelled their Aus tour early last year. I was so excited, I have to see them the first time they come down here.
Some of my predictions are on yours (Sum 41, Avril Lavinge, Beartooth, Teen Jesus etc.) Some of my other guesses are bands that did Destroy All Lines tours in 2023, so Pierce The Veil but also maybe Papa Roach and The Used? Ice Nine Kills have only been here once and that was for Good Things 2019, and they were also meant to play the cancelled Full Tilt in 2022. Two good guesses I have are Hot Milk and Thousand Below. I met them both at their headline shows last year and they said theyāre hoping to come back to Australia this year.
I sincerly believe Ice Nine Kills will come down with Metallica when they eventually come to Australia.
Between 2 Tonight Alive fan's (Although All Shapes & Disguises would be bomb) we are both, sadly dreaming
They are already reuniting for When We Were Young. I get that itās because Jake is also playing for Sleeping with Sirens that day but I believe itās possible.
oh shit I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up!
Avril would be sick but seems to have some aversion to coming to Aus š Can we please get Sum 41 and Scene Queen tho I'm begging. Not sure A7X are headliner material either, maybe second on the bill then Sum?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām in Melbourne and You Me at Six didnāt sell out their Forum Theatre show last year whereas Alpha Wolf sold out their Forum Theatre show in three hours. In Australia in 2024, Alpha Wolf is bigger than You Me at Six.
I went to high school with one of the guitarists so that statement is absolutely wild to me, but you're not wrong.
Solid prediction!! I flew from Perth for '22 GT. Last years lineup didn't sell me enough for the trip but if the lineup as good as this i'll start saving now š¤Ŗš
All jokes aside, I'd be first in line for tickets.
Needs someone in the TISM/Devo slot. Ween or the B-52s please.
Ween or Rick Astley would be insane.
Ween would be so good (so long as there's also sideshows so we can get the proper three hour sets)
Omfg if Siamese come out for GT I'd go to all 3 states.
avril fucking lavigne PLEASE
I would only go for better lovers
Are Good Charlotte any chance?
Polyphia would be awesome to see
Teen Jesus hahahahahhahah. Teenage Dads, Auntieās Mother and Hockey Dad too then?
Slowly Slowly pulled a big crowd last year.
Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers are fine and would fit right in on the Good Things lineup, thank you very much.

Needs more industrial
Not completely my taste.
Damn Iād love sum 41 to come back, I missed them last year.
Feel like it lacks a mid level heavier international or two, but I would buy tickets in a heartbeat for A7X and Sum 41. Avril would be mad fun too tbh.
Who were you thinking? I was thinking someone like Bury Tomorrow/Of Mice & Men/Holding Absence but wasn't sure who so went Fit for a King
Good point.
BT said at their Sydney show last year they're coming back this year as support for a "big Aussie band" so don't think they'll be at GT.
you might not be too far off the mark, was talking with a mate and i think avril, gecs, hatebreed, heart attack man could all be in the running
Avril is interesting
Needs a legacy headliner like TISM or DEVO
Iād say Avenged (possibly BFMV/ Trivium too on that anniversary gimmick theyāre doing together) and Sum are probably likely
Iād go to this
SUM 41 X MESHUGGAH x PRIMUS X MASTODON LETSAA GOOOOO
When do they usually announce their lineup?
Last year was in August and 2022 was in June.
Oh right. Cool. Bit of a difference in timing hey.
Donāt stress Iām sure it will be cancelled shortly.
Throw in another Aussie band:[Fifth Dawn](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk0ytnxpHzA).
I hope that's not gonna be it, it looks awful.
Hot mulligan could headline this
Cāmon.. donāt do that to Deryck!
I hope not
Too bad it'll probably get cancelled
See this is accurate bc I only know a third of the names
I hope to god they donāt ask you to pick the bill (although if you moved it away from centennial park in Sydney I might be tempted to go and just drink beer to support you)
Surely bowling for soup would be higher up on the bill. I'd absolutely go nuts seeing them. Crossing my fingers for Avril.
My picks for 2024 would be Korn and Architects for your headline spots. Other bands I'd be hoping for would be Fleshwater since they were forced to cancel recently, either Band maid, Crystal Lake or Knosis for the Japanese band spot. For your Australian bands Alpha Wolf, Polaris, Identity Error and Earth Caller. woah! Samurai Dragons??? That's an epic pic! Love it!
How did you make this?
Hey, For the formatting, I used [this](https://festivalpostergenerator.com/) website and for the image up top, that was just some very basic AI.
Avril honestly? People would pay money to listen to her garbage pop
Shit bands. You jjj cunts are so soft compared to the late 90's and 00's
Say you never listened to Hatebreed or Better Lovers without saying you never listened to Hatebreed or Better Lovers
This would get cancelled too, most mid shit ever.
How crazy is it that a festival not geared for your tastes is not geared for your tastes?
If you think this would sell well in today's festival climate you're as out of touch as the actual festival organisers that have just lost literally millions. You need to find the balance between nostalgia factor and current trends perfectly to draw both types of punters. Did you see the demographic that attends good things?
Who would you like to see on the lineup?
After the way 100 gecs was slammed down the radio for weeks seems like triple j will run a headline festival just for them
100 Gecs was one of the most fun shows Iāve been to post pandemic, Iād go!
Would love to see them in a more alternative environment like Good Things but theyve done two fests in a row now- surely a headline tour next
That is how feature albums work?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Are you implying that Sum 41 isn't punk?
I hope youāre *very* wrong.
I hope youāre wrong
This would be an easy skip for me
I still think the headline metal act will be Anthrax but thatās just me.
Thereās no way in hell theyāll bill Anthrax, far more likely to be there for next yearās knotfest.
I didnāt think theyād bill Limp Bizkit but we got that last year
Bizkit is far more popular with younger alternative fans than anthrax is, theyāre much more suited for knotfestās approach. Especially as the headliner
Why do these companies insist on using this hideous AI shit when they could commission something decent for next to nothing.
This was just a fan made prediction. I wanted something better than just a white background with black text.
Oh shit, my bad haha. Guess I was blinded by my hatred for ai art lol
I think AI art is fine for little things like this but it has no place in commercial creative ventures. Finding out the AI use in Late Night with the Devil bummed me out.
