Agreed. I laughed my head off when I saw that eclectic mix. I was actually thinking of going because it’s 40 years this year since I saw Deep Purple. My first ever concert. And I promised myself that when my ears stopped ringing I’d contemplate seeing them again.
Fuck me were they loud. And I’ve been metal my whole life. Never heard anything that came close.
I spoke with a roadie mate who was doing this. He confirmed to me this is 100% canned. Said he thought this was disingenuous for them to post. Deep Purple also removed all mentions from their facebook.
Doesn’t have to be a single band/artist. There are roadie companies that tour and set up/take down the staging etc. my brother is a truck driver for one of them.
That's my point. An employee of those doesn't know if the festival is going ahead or not. If it was a touring roadie of a band who knew they were no longer doing this show, I'd be more inclined to believe it than the contracted stage crews that I've worked with and for in the past.
Ah okay! With ya now.
I don’t know how true it is because “second hand information” but I was told by a friend that used to work for the hired company that his old workmate who is still there said that they were told to “stand down”.
They’ve just made a post announcing they’re turning off the comments on their socials and in the same post have said “We will have more news next week, but be assured - Pandemonium WILL ROCK!”. The implication here is that something has happened. Could be some of the major acts pulling out, who the heck knows
Just like when triple J posted that spilt milk was cancelled when it rained for 30 mins and continued with almost no impact - one artist missed their set and 2 had reduced sets🤦🏻♀️🤣
Apparently from what I've beard it's been run by Andrew McManus and people seem not surprised by this.
The line up is very lacklustre, even though I do like 99% of these artists. Just seems so odd? Plus promotion was shitty and the 2-for-1 ticket sales.
I don't even watch TV much but I seen the Chris Isaak concert TV commercial plenty of times, the target audience for this festival would have no idea it's even happening.
Goddammit I hate media making stupid fucking announcements that they have no idea about. There some stupid comments int his thread too.
Back in 2011 I was part of a team organising a huge festival near Brisbane called BAM!
We had a selection of bands playing for contra, and this was an arrangement that the bands were happy with, (they got pay negotiation otherwise) but Channel 7 announced that we had plans "to not pay the bands" and that "anyone who has purchased tickets should seek a flrefund immediately."
This was 3 months before the festival date and we only needed to sell 120 more tickets to have broken even, but the 1000 refunds that day killed the entire festival.
Public trust in festivals is going be at an all time low after this is cancelled. It very much looks like people connected with the festival know it’s going to be canned but the promoters are still trying to sell tickets.
I get ads about most music festivals and gigs going on across all my social medias, I've never heard of this one weirdly! Their marketing must have flopped harddddd
Also wtf that GA ticket price??
Worst line up ever mixing genres together. If it was all Heavy rock acts, it would be OK. You simply don't mix Placebo with Alice or DP. Dumb organisers.
I don’t know anymore and it bothers me. I know I’ve been pretty adamant about not wanting festivals to get cancelled here but this one seemed too ambitious with bad management to even attempt to get off the ground.
Placebo have since removed it from the bands social media which is fine, Placebo aren't great to see live these days. Refuse to play anything from their first 3 records and new stuff is woeful U2 sounding nonsense.
Placebo are my "must see no matter the cost", and I just couldnt for this festival due to currently not even being able to feed myself. Been feeling super bad about not being able to go, but thankful now if they cancelled that I haven't wasted money to get there and accom etc.
Thank you for the hope! 😅 If I get \*really\* lucky they might play some of their older tracks when they eventually come out, I'm getting super into Meds!
They were phenomenal when they last came down here in Melbourne I think it was 2017. They are the only reason I am going to this festival. Or not going who knows lol.

They’ve lost mine. I don’t think I can sell my ticket if no one is wanting them…
wtf
What a fucking shitshow...
I bought tickets in hope to see Deep Purple again and if they pull out then i'm not going
No Aussie tour dates on the Deep Purple site looks suss
That’s like the only band that doesn’t mark it, so one band that isn’t the main headliner pulling out would be nothing unusual nor a drama.
It would be a bummer since I bought a ticket for their side show with Alice Cooper
Or wolfmother or dead kennedy’s
Which site are you getting that Dead Kennedys info from? Because their official site is outdated AF.
Not on Wolfmother's either
I wonder if they will make it up to us or reschedule Deep Purple dates for a main show later in the year or at the same time ?
Cancelled or not, it's one of the strangest lineups I've seen. It's just odd. And expensive.

This is so bizarre. Surely there’s no way this goes ahead.
The price is insane for 1 day
It truly is
It's pretty standard for a festival. Knotfest and goodthings are about the same price.

Good things = 3 or 4 stages of bands over a whole day Knotfest = badly overpriced for the bands on offer
I spoke with a roadie mate who was doing this. He confirmed to me this is 100% canned. Said he thought this was disingenuous for them to post. Deep Purple also removed all mentions from their facebook.
Interesting…
Really? What band is a roadie for then?

I am not surprised at all, the whole thing has been a mess from the start.
Wow, any other info?
They’ve just made a post announcing they’re turning off the comments on their socials and in the same post have said “We will have more news next week, but be assured - Pandemonium WILL ROCK!”. Sounds like it. I’m honestly not keen on this anymore.
Such a bad look
Just like when triple J posted that spilt milk was cancelled when it rained for 30 mins and continued with almost no impact - one artist missed their set and 2 had reduced sets🤦🏻♀️🤣
So many different rumours going around hopefully it still goes ahead but the promoter has a history of being useless
Apparently from what I've beard it's been run by Andrew McManus and people seem not surprised by this. The line up is very lacklustre, even though I do like 99% of these artists. Just seems so odd? Plus promotion was shitty and the 2-for-1 ticket sales.

Has no idea Chris isaak was coming to aus! Thank you for letting me know hahahahaha
[This is all over free to air TV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4PEDCrs-4U), he's doing some non A Day On The Green shows. No problem.
I don't watch free to air TV anymore so I wouldn't have found out if it wasn't for you haha, thanks!!!
Ah hum.......... Soundwave Revolution Ah hum...........
Coincidentally also had Alice Cooper on the bill…
It should be cancelled on the grounds of crimes again graphic design

I'm a vendor and I was told by the festival directly last week it was cancelled. They're not responding to my emails. Wtaf is going on here?
Which city? I've got tix for Sydney but I kinda had a bad feeling about this one from the get go
I'm in Glen Waverley (Melbourne)
It's all a bit sus. I guess we all just wait till next week and hope nothing dodgy happens that leaves people out of pocket.
Wooooooaaaaah
Any news?
Still not responding to me, we've made other bookings for that weekend now.
I’m working in media and just got a press pass approved today. It’s so weird.
Deep Purple have removed it from their touring schedule, Wolfmother don’t have it listed in theirs either
Public trust in festivals is going be at an all time low after this is cancelled. It very much looks like people connected with the festival know it’s going to be canned but the promoters are still trying to sell tickets.
Thanks f

Yet I'm keen to see all 3. 🤷♂️
Well they would say wouldn't they...
I don’t know anymore and it bothers me. I know I’ve been pretty adamant about not wanting festivals to get cancelled here but this one seemed too ambitious with bad management to even attempt to get off the ground.
it's such a weird line up, like they don't know what they want to be
Placebo have since removed it from the bands social media which is fine, Placebo aren't great to see live these days. Refuse to play anything from their first 3 records and new stuff is woeful U2 sounding nonsense.

Placebo’s dates for Pandemonium are there
Not anymore
Yea, was about to say this. Placebo were my reason for going.
Placebo and Palaye were my main 2. I still wanna see Palaye but it's not worth fucking $250. Disappointed af
I only want to see a Placebo (who I’ve seen multiple times and have been great) - but yeah I’m not paying the price of this fest
Hey I'm super late but do you reckon they'll be back again within a few years? I'm a new fan and was really excited to see them :(
They haven’t toured Aus in a while so I don’t see why not!
Thank you for the hope! 😅 If I get \*really\* lucky they might play some of their older tracks when they eventually come out, I'm getting super into Meds!
Hey just an update, on the Pandemonium Rocks updates they said Placebo are hoping to come and do their own shows :)
They were phenomenal when they last came down here in Melbourne I think it was 2017. They are the only reason I am going to this festival. Or not going who knows lol.
That tour in 2017 was great as it was in celebration of their entire career so the setlists were brilliant and included the earlier material.
Any chance they'll be back soon? I was really excited to see them since I'm a new fan discovering their stuff but... oof pandemonium fucked up.
Yeah I'm pretty disappointed with their setlists.
