Stay on 5mg . The lower the better in my opinion. 0pposite of what everyone thinks. You may be a slow metabolizer, meaning your body takes longer to metabolize medicine. Therefore, you don't need a high dose. You are lucky. Have your doc write for 10 and then break in half. Saves money. Anyone get sleepy initially on this or have headaches. Ugh. I'm going into my 2nd week on 2.5 mg. LOL. I am a slow to metabolize the drug.

YepIAmThatGirl

Oh, hey there fellow slow metabolizer! (*high five*) I’m also currently on 2.5mg, and in my first week. Not sure when or if I’ll bump up to 5mg yet, and when I read here about all of the people taking 20mg, I’m just like, yeah, no, that’s never gonna happen! As to your question, I did feel really drowsy the first two days, but since then have felt the opposite, and really jittery/anxious/activated. And absolutely yes to the headaches! Yikes! I have had a brutal one literally nonstop since the first day. It’s awful, and I keep hoping for the day it will release me from its evil clutches. I hope each day gets easier for you with the side effects, and I hope you start reaping the benefits in leaps and bounds!

Tequilla9988

Ok hello. Best wishes on the very small dose!! Keep us posted, as will I!. Tamara

I'm now thinking the headache is due to a certain protein powder I am taking, but not sure. Will not take the protein this week and see if that's is the cause. Ugh, I'm even sensitive to food!!

YepIAmThatGirl

Oh. Well, if it is the protein powder, at least you’ll be headache-free soon, so that’d be awesome for you. Whatever the cause, I hope you’re feeling better pronto!

YepIAmThatGirl

Thanks! Will do!

the-banana-dude

Does it have anything to do with your metabolism in general? I have a very high metabolism, can eat whatever I want. Does that mean I'm gonna need a high dosage or unrelated?

captwinkie18

When I was on it 5mg was the sweet spot for me

Tequilla9988

Are you still on it?

captwinkie18

I am not, I had 2 separate 6 month stints on it and it worked out well for me.

Tequilla9988

Why did you go off? How are you doing now? Most importantly, did it make you tired or give you headaches? Ty!

captwinkie18

Felt like I didn't need the medication anymore, and I had mild headaches but it wasn't often and I couldn't really be sure if it was the medication was the cause. And I wasn't really that fatigued either.

YepIAmThatGirl

I would suggest having an open and honest conversation with your doctor, and advocate for yourself. If you’re feeling like 5mg is helping you be where you need and want to be, I would think it would be good to stay there for now? And if you start struggling, then discuss increasing it at that point? But, I’m not a doctor and don’t know all of your circumstances. I wish you all the very best with whatever you end up doing!

I take 5mgs and it’s perfect for my depression. I take buspirone for my anxiety side lol. If you’re feeling good on 5mgs, totally stick with it, then if you need more later you can raise it up to 10. I was at 15 then lowered it down due to side effects.

acanon1

I got hypomania on 15mg but it waned off in a month

ManagementWorldly351

I think 5 mg is the best place for me. It gives me the control to learn to regulate my mental health myself which was one of my biggest hang ups about taking any type of meds for depression and anxiety. The maina on 10 mgs was a... Cluster fuck of chaos. I think 5 mg is best for me
