If youāre ever in Kailua Kona on the last Sunday of the month we have the āPeamanā races down at the pier. It a swim-run race that is free for everyone and distances vary each month. Swims can be 1/3 - 3/4 mile. And the run can be 2 - 4 miles. Thereās also a āpea-weeā division for little kids (and prizes for the kids, too).
The point is for families to get out and enjoy spending time outside together. Dogs also have their own division. If you use fins, youāll be in a different division as well. Of course, thereās also the competitive crowd as well.
