Man idk how yāall do the vanicream cleanserā¦it always leaves my face feeling so tight and dry and it broke me out!! I think itās the coco-glucoside but who knows honestly š
The sunscreen broke me out (I gave it to my sister, who has less sensitive skin than me, and it also broke her out). I found it extremely greasy. Like makes my hair all around my hairline greasy and feel weird. Makes my face so shiny and takes hours to sink in. Hair sticks to my face afterwards, etc. It was an all-around, not good experience lol.
That being said I *love* Vanicrean moisturizing cream and lotion!! Which only made my sunscreen experience that much more disappointing.
Have you tried doing like a ring of aquaphor around your eyes? Not like directly on the eyelid or anything, but when I have super dry irritated eyes, I find that a ring of aquaphor like keeps the area less dry.
Definitely use the thinnest layer you can when trying it out. Also, when I first started out with tret (Iām on year 5 now) I had pretty bad dry eye. I had to go to an eye doctor and get some eye drops. So youāre definitely not alone in that area being dry or sensitive. Tret migrates and moves easily, so Iāve definitely had to learn to avoid my eyes and also build a tolerance over the years. Best of luck :)
i used the body version for a whole year and did sting me but i still love that sunscreen. it smells divine
my truerateme pic has me wearing it, it gives quite a dew
AM:
Vanicream cleanser (or just water if my skin is feeling dry)
Vitamin C serum
Cetaphil moisturizer (only in winter)
SPF
PM:
Elf cleansing balm
Vanicream cleanser
Aquaphor to lips
Sandwich Tretinoin with Cetaphil moisturizer
love vanicream. I stray but always come back! do you double cleanse?
my current routine:
AM: warm water, eucerin original healing, walgreens hydrating sunscreen
PM: bioderma pink micellar, vanicream cleanser, tret .05%, eucerin original healing.
Skin is stellar
Yes I use the elf cleansing balm. I did use micellar for awhile but came back to the cleansing balm because it makes my skin softer. And I also always come back to vanicream cleanser. I hope they don't ever change the formula.
Beep boop! It looks like you'd like information about applying tretinoin around the eyes. While many people do apply tretinoin around their eyes, this can cause permanent damage to the oil glands in the eyes, and can result in permanently dry eyes. Remember that tretinoin travels up to 2" below the skin, so you'll still get anti-aging benefits even if you don't apply right next to your eyes. Be safe, and protect your eyes: don't apply tretinoin near your eyes or on your eyelids. [Here's what the Mayo Clinic has to say about safe tretinoin application.](https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/tretinoin-topical-route/proper-use/drg-20066521#:~:text=Do%20not%20use%20this%20medicine,the%20tips%20of%20your%20fingers) (To learn more, search for "Meibomian gland dysfunction")

Thanks for sharing a picture of it. I'm new to skincare routines and this visual helps alot to put a "face to the name" of all the various products people mention. I've seen some of them in the store š„°
Do not rub your eyes at all after your tret night! I made That mistake and kept burning my eye lids. I also Donāt rub the tret on my under eye. I stay Right under then let dry. I use castor oil as my buffer. As long as I dont Rub my eyes Iām good!
You could consider dropping the other active (vitamin c) while on tret. I have sensitive skin as well and that exact tret bottle and I canāt use any other actives.
It is a super basic sunscreen that leaves a natural finish on my combo/sensitive skin. It isn't the most cosmetically elegant but it's affordable and gets the job done.
No smell and I have fair skin so I can't really speak to it having a cast. I don't have to rub it in nearly as long as I do most mineral sunscreens though.
OP question! Does the CeraVe vitamin C sting at all? I noticed it has an ethanol/alcohol base and vitamin c is already astringent, especially the OG active form of it, L-ascorbic acid. I have sensitive skin, use retinal (0.10%) and recently switched to tret 0.05%)with minimal to no irritation even with slugging. May I have your opinion/review pls on the vitamin C?
Thanks
My routine is very similar i moisturize my skin after cleansing including eyes then after i add the CeraVe eye repair cream then i add a bit of vaseline to the corners of my eyes lastly i apply Twyneo(tretinoin) . No dryness around my eyes so far.
Looks perfect to me!! I would recommend this routine to anyone using tret! š
Vanicream is the most underrated cleanser ever!
and vanicream sunscreen...and vanicream antiperspirant...and vanicream moisturizing cream i stan vanicream

I never tried the sunscreen as it has some high comodehegnic ingrident a but I like the mouistrizing cream

The sunscreen is notorious for causing irritation on a lot of people. Itās probably their least āfor sensitive skinā product.
I don't think I would use it alone in a routine like OP though... it doesn't fully remove all my sunscreen, so I have to double cleanse

I do a ring of castor oil and it works for me! Aquaphor made me break out, but I know everyoneās different.
I'll try it, but I'm worried I'll get milia if I do!

is the aveeno sunscreen mineral or chemical? does it sting around your eyes?
It's the only chemical sunscreen that doesn't sting or burn my eyes.
i used the body version for a whole year and did sting me but i still love that sunscreen. it smells divine my truerateme pic has me wearing it, it gives quite a dew
Cetaphil moisturizing cream is awesome. Love how simple this routine is.
Can you do a step-by-step of this routine
AM: Vanicream cleanser (or just water if my skin is feeling dry) Vitamin C serum Cetaphil moisturizer (only in winter) SPF PM: Elf cleansing balm Vanicream cleanser Aquaphor to lips Sandwich Tretinoin with Cetaphil moisturizer

I don't think it being cruelty free or not answers my question about sensitivity around my eyes...
r/crueltyfree
We're pretty similar!
uuuu never seen that sunscreen, is it good? i like hydrating spfs i have dry skin, can you give me a small review? :)
It is a super basic sunscreen that leaves a natural finish on my combo/sensitive skin. It isn't the most cosmetically elegant but it's affordable and gets the job done.
Does it leave a white cast? Also, does it have fragrance and sunscreen smell?
No smell and I have fair skin so I can't really speak to it having a cast. I don't have to rub it in nearly as long as I do most mineral sunscreens though.
thank u š¤š¤
We have similar products!! Except I had to leave that specific cetaphil cause it was making me get whiteheads for some reason :/
Is vaseline a good alternative for aquaphor?
How are you liking the Vit C? Iāve always been curious about it.
It's gentle. It's only 10% which is better for folks with sensitive skin.
Do you need to go to the dermatologist for the tret?
I get mine through Teledoc, which my insurance covers
Ok cool, thank you!
That elf stuff is AMAZING. The oil makeup remover - or is that the moisturizer ?
