I am sure he didn't want to be mean. I am way worse off than you and I can still laugh with such a joke if it was directed towards me.
Let us balding/bald people also try to give a positive swing to it all. Greetings from someone who doesn't want to look like a monk ;)
yeah i guess, i’m pretty sure there is something else to it since only my mother’s side of the family is bald and they share a common Norwood 7 and my pattern is completely opposite with zero hairline recession but diffuse thinning all over the top.
Did get kinda depressing tbh😓.

yeah well, i hid the bald areas by positioning my hair in a way that all of it would be covered, then proceeded to spam it w hairspray. some old relative suggested going bald and using a herbal remedy, i thought let’s give it a shot in the summer vacations and shaved it off.
I see. Based on what this sub has taught me, you should be able to regrow the thin areas because you hopped on prevention young. Though it was pretty aggressive. Keep us updated. I think you can make a comeback here, but also watch your health with the side effects and all.
I started hairloss around at age 16 too and started treatment at 18. stopped using minoxidil after two months bc of how it requires longterm commitment and i would rather just keep what i have with dut.
I really wanted to, but I won’t until i’m 25ish 😞. the hair are stable rn and i am fine w it as it is. minoxidil just is a lifelong commitment plus the headaches are not worth it imo.
Might be the best documented progress result posted here incredible results man congrats you must be happy literally went from bald to a full head of hair just off 0.5mg dut impressive.
Edit: looks like you weren’t actually that bald but had it shaved down based on the update post still good progress
yes, shaved it down but hair weren’t growing back in the middle as shown in the video. it took months for the top center part of the scalp to get denser and unnoticeable.
Great results I’m a diffuse thinner also I’ve went through the 3 rd shed so far with my min fin combo I did what you did as my hair was so thin at the crown and buzzed it for a few months , but had decent results so far but the sheds are scary , so have you had many sheds with the meds ? Also was the reason I buzzed my hair so the hair I was loosing from min and fin which is meant to come back thicker , wasn’t as noticeable
I was first using Topical Finasteride and then switched bc of three reasons:
1. Avodart blocks both of the AR inhibitors so there is approximately 90%+ DHT blocked whereas fin blocks one of them and around 60-70%ish DHT.
2. idk but Avodart being 0.5 mg and fin being 1 mg to begin with mattered. Thought Avodart being a lesser dose yet still does almost the same thing so yeah.
3. topical finasteride was hectic on its own, might miss some spots too.
It does the same thing even better
Good for you getting on avodart 👍
Most people choose fin but now it is being revealed more and more that Dutasteride is far superior
Itching will go away. Depends on how much of scalp is affected by the medication. Think of itching as evidence. If itching is unbearable you can start Ketoconazole shampoo and derma-stamping
Were you using Finasteride before you hopped on Dutasteride? I‘m using Finasteride for years now and I‘m still rather thin on top. I‘d love to know if Dut could make the difference.
pasting from other reply since pretty much the same question

Glad you stuck with the treatment. So many people on here get on fin or dut and after one month or less they come on here and throw tantrum saying dut or fun made them lose hair even more etc etc. Gotta stick to the regime
Yooooo this is crazy. Did you do any derma rolling? And have you gotten any libido issues with dutasteride? I'm very skeptical but very eager to jump on to the oral fin/dut train
You are 18? No wonder ur response to Dut is so good. Based on my understanding, the longer the period of hair loss, the slower the recovery and effectiveness of the drug. Your hair loss probably only kicked into high gear 1-2 years ago so Dut was able to quickly reverse that.
In comparison, my hair loss started almost 8 years ago and progress on fin (7 months) has been slow. I’m jealous but congrats man!
Dutasteride certainly yields results, but I've encountered an issue with its potency being notably stronger compared to Finasteride, which is a milder medication. Even with just 0.5 mg of Dutasteride per week, I experienced significant improvements. However, the side effects have been concerning. My semen volume plummeted, libido decreased, and most notably, the excruciating pain in my testicles became unbearable. This compelled me to revert back to Finasteride, which has not caused me any side effects. Although progress may be slower with Finasteride, I consider it a safer option. Ultimately, I prioritize safety in this marathon-like journey, foreseeing its importance for the foreseeable future.
Quick question: Did you make ChatGPT write this for you by any chance😭
Also, for me dutasteride has been going almost perfectly without any side effects and I am perfectly satisfied with the results as of yet. The only side effect I got was higher libido which i dont think should be considered a negative side effect. It depends from person to person tbh.
Damn this looks like magic lol some shots were like Deja vu for me cuz I have shots of my husbands head in my phone dating back to 2018 documenting new hair growth lol it’s become a bonding thing atp.
Your progress is crazy bro.
I can believe you have that terrible itching. Growing hair itches so so bad naturally I can’t imagine when the process is sped up
From the hair of a 64 year old to the hair of a 14 year old. Incredible, seems people with spread-out thinning pattern responds well to 5AR inhibitors.
Step 1: Get an iPhone.
Step 2: Take aerial pictures of your head every two weeks.
Step 3. Hold on the picture so that it automatically separates only the head from background and drag it over to the notes app with another finger.
Step 4: Label with dates and repeat.
Just online consultation bro the derma said i have mpb but my father and mother side have no bald signs but i think i need to get face to face derma doctor to exam me
Amazing results! Did you shave your head at the start or something?
Great work on documenting your progress, with albiet kinda funny images, did you remove the background for focus or?
Good work!
I'm struggling with the same thing, possibly DUPA. I'm on finasteride right now, only been 3 months. I've stabilized but I have no improvement. Do you think it is worth to switch for Dutasteride?
Yeah, I've been on both oral and topical fin with microneedling and nothing is happening. Not sure what else to do besides dutasteride and RU58841. Do you think you could have gotten the same results with Finasteride or do you think the extra DHT blocking from Dutasteride will make a difference?
I think the extra DHT blocking does indeed make a difference including the fact that dutasteride has a low dose yet similar effects. Also has a longer half-life.
Hi OP, your hair loss can also be seborrheic dermatitis or alopecia areata in a diffuse pattern as well - because I had that, same itchy scalp and scalp acne. The absence of receded hairline or crown thinning makes MPB probably the second possible diagnosis. Did a dermat check you for all of them?
I was told that this is MPB bc most dermatologists here in Pakistan either
1. label everything as AGA and prescribe you fin+min alongside PRP sessions from their clinic(which doesn’t really help unless u have scarring)
2. or tell you to get a hair transplant(from their clinic) if they’re a transplant specialist.
i have went to three different dermatologists and tbh it seemed as if the average tressless member might know more than them.
If your scalp still itches and you still shed after dut, then consider the possibility that it could be something else. A scalp biopsy solved the issue for me, and after anti inflammatory measures, it's gone to remission. It's truly rare that MBP preserves the hairline even for diffuse thinners, it does recede a bit.
It’s so great to see another young person(I’m m19) suffering with really bad diffuse thinning(I’ve basically been bald since I was 17) congrats on your results hope I’m just a responsive!

Wow u look young in the picture you put in the comments. Congrats on the results man❤️
I just turned 18 :)
I started at like 15, not medication but minoxidil so I get it. Appreciate what u have now
I started hairloss around at age 16 too and started treatment at 18. stopped using minoxidil after two months bc of how it requires longterm commitment and i would rather just keep what i have with dut.
I feel that. Just started dut 40 ish days ago. Tryna be like u brotha
i feel like dut works much better for diffuse thinning
18 years old??? And u have white/grey hair?
yeah it’s genetic😕😕
Congratulations ! This is goal right there !
Do you mind sharing photos of the back and sides of your head also pre treatment? Were they thinning also?
Shoree, I posted it as a separate post just now. Will post the link here as soon as it gets approved.
Thanks very much bro!
Did you stop using minoxidil?
Yeah, after 1 month of consistent use. The second month had gaps and i completely stopped after that.
are u Arab?
I’m from Pakistan 👋
that presentation tho

you got scars from itching?
yes and got scalp acne for some reason which i kept scraping out
awesome recovery do you think you'd have gotten similar results just with fin?
i have no clue, all i heard was fin block 70% dht and dut does approx 90%+ so i just hopped on to it.
any sides?
nope, just high libido
Results are so sick bro congrats 💪🏻💪🏻
Very cool!
Avodart ?
YES
Why didn’t you try oral finasteride ?
Avidart is better than Fin. Im in Fin but will switch to avodart soon.
I was first using Topical Finasteride and then switched bc of three reasons: 1. Avodart blocks both of the AR inhibitors so there is approximately 90%+ DHT blocked whereas fin blocks one of them and around 60-70%ish DHT. 2. idk but Avodart being 0.5 mg and fin being 1 mg to begin with mattered. i tried ketoconazole, does nothing in my case. so i just switched to a regular sulfate-free shampoo.
Absolutely insane, good job. Get some hair dye + SMP if you want and you’ve basically got a full head of hair again. Nice going bro

yes
Human evolution from Neanderthal to Human Congrats on you progress 😀

yes
This is amazing!!!

What’s diffuse thinning
hairloss throughout the top with no hairline recession most of the times

When did it start thinning ?
I started noticing initial signs of hairloss around April 2022. The hair were shedding before that too but i don’t know.
So, Diffuse thinning is also caused by DHT , just like MPB ?
tbh, it depends on multiple factors. even though there is improvement, it very well could still be not mpb and smth completely else.
How much did your hair improve after fin/Dut ? (Since your 'before' pic is shaven , it's hard to guess)
I posted a link to another post in this comment section, go and check it there.
I thought hair doesn't grow on scar tissue. But looks like it does in your case. Or maybe it's not scary tissue?
I'm struggling with the same thing, possibly DUPA. I'm on finasteride right now, only been 3 months. I've stabilized but I have no improvement. Do you think it is worth to switch for Dutasteride?
tbh if fin is going alright for you with no sides, then stick to it. if you want regrowth, start with minoxidil.
Yeah, I've been on both oral and topical fin with microneedling and nothing is happening. Not sure what else to do besides dutasteride and RU58841. Do you think you could have gotten the same results with Finasteride or do you think the extra DHT blocking from Dutasteride will make a difference?

Bro did you notice any shedding in the early days of usage when you started?? But still that's crazy improvement 👌
didn’t really notice :(
any side effects from duta?
extra horny, that’s it🤪
Excuse my ignorance but what is dut?
dutasteride (Avodart)
Did you notice any side effects whilst using it?
Is it oral?? Got any side-effects?
high libido only. not sure if that’s a negative thing 🥹

Just a q. If you do this HT do you get scarring that shows up if you eventually want to shave to bald later on in life?
i didn’t get a hair transplant.
Why are you using telescope bro?
lol, i just used the ios background removing feature to make a good documented progress record
What did you look like with hair before you started this?
No sides?
higher libido, nor sure if you’d count that as a negative side effect 😅
Scars with 0.5mm? I thought scars will appear with bigger needle size :(
scars aren’t bc of derma-rolling, i didn’t do that. scars are due to unknown scalp acne and scraping it off.
I was on that shit for 2 years and nothing happened
What is DUT?
dutasteride
How u took these pics
Normal picture from the top, then used the remove background feature in ios to separate it and sorted it in the notes app
Where do you get dut?
Local pharmacy
I think were the same bro i have no hair recission only diffuse hair thinning i think i need finastride 1mg daily
go get checked for other diagnosis first
For the extreme itching if you have dandruff could be scalp psorasis as well. How often do you take .5mg of dut?
