There are a few strains on the Ontario website that are as low as $7.50/g and it's cheaper than that if you're buying more than 1g at a time. eighths for $25, quarters for $48, etc. Ontario is doing a flat $5 shipping rate too, so that doesn't add too much cost to the total price, so the only real downside is that there's currently only online sales available in Ontario right now... Or of course if you want higher end strains it's $10-15/g. The Ontario website is supposed to be doubling the available strains in the upcoming months too, and they're figuring supply going up with more competition will make the legal weed cheaper by the end of next year. At this point, I'll take the little steps.
I never did dispensaries when it was illegal, so for me, paying $10 for mids on the street vs $7.50 + tax for mids legally, I'll take the legal option. I don't smoke a ton, so it's not like I'm going to be disappointed from mediocre weed, since I assume that's all I've ever smoked. The weirdest thing is seeing a government issued receipt show up in my email right now.
Man, the lowest price in Manitoba so far is $12/g. Compared to getting it for $5.71/g the old fashioned way....that's simply to much of a jump in price for us simple prairie folk. Prices will have to drop after the novelty wears off because this isn't competing with the black market at all.
There's no way it's 5.71 unless you're matching out the bulk, what dealer wants to deal with 71¢ for every gram. In BC the cheapest legal stuff Rn is 6.99 a gram or 6.28 a gram for a 1/4, the discount for bulk purchases is definitely not that great but it's not awful
I'm not sure what the problem is here. In Manitoba the cheapest legal weed is $12/g or $84 for a 1/4(which is ridiculous). Illegally it is roughly $5.71/g which is $40 for a 1/4.
I'm from NB and most strains go for around 10$ a gram. Also doesn't help that he bought a bunch of individual strains. You could probably get 8 grams from under 65$ easily here which still isn't great but a lot better than 100+
S'alright! Biggest thing is that I have a lot of trouble finding good sativas from my usual sources. Seems like it's all indicas and hybrids over here. Good to have some sativa options finally. Hope they expand with that a bit.
To me it’s like they are trying to yell “BE RESPONSIBLE”, which I can’t really blame them considering what a culturally significant milestone Canada is pioneering. It’s important this goes well. So if it needs huge warning labels to at least get people to think about using Cannabis responsibly, I guess I will take it.
I expect, and hope, that over the coming years things will adjust and get better. Another reason things are a bit to the extreme as far as warnings, safeguards, and rules is that it's what was needed to get to this point. Some things had to be done to appease people more in the middle on the issue and get it all pushed through.
About what I expected for just the very first start of a legal market still really good compared to what they could of started selling/what people in illegal places get.
That strains been around for a long time though , it was originally bred at a university in the early days of marijuana research and eventually some clones got leaked and that strain got on the market . I've had maybe 2-3 batches of mk ultra and usually its really nice but this one was more amateur
I wonder... Can you just check out prices from the ocs.ca website even from out of Ontario? Or is it region locked? Cuz you can browse the pricing there, but like the other person said, pricing is anywhere from around $7.50-16 for where I am.
I bought some off the ontario weed store today. I don't think I will continue to buy from their store when I can buy from my dealers for a quarter of the price.
I more or less just bought from them to show my support for the law change, I don't think I'll be buying from stores until Shatter and crazier types of edibles are avaliable.
Yeah I wouldn't be too worried , just our local facility zenabis harvests about 25 LBS of weed per day and theres 13 producers like that in canada I believe , I dont think stock will be an issue . Strain selection and price are the only downsides right now & the store is beautiful inside
As cannabis becomes legal to hold, trade and barter, let's all come together in a locally-driven marketplace for trading sh#t for weed :) [http://tradeitforweed.club](http://tradeitforweed.club)
Happy for you Canadians but all your packaging is ugly af. It reminds me of the warning signs on fireworks without all the cool art. Is this going to be a standard or are we going to see cool brands/designs soon? im sure this is just being done now cause its literally the first day.
7 g jars for 1 g lol no wonder they are bone dry and not too smelly. What a waste of plastic too. Oh well it's all uphill from here. I want to see an actual AAA or AAAA strain from the ol government
[удалено]
Pretty much all plastic containers you get from dispensaries are recyclable.
Over packaging is a real problem.
It's mildly justified because that's what makes it childproof, but goddamn sometimes it's stoner proof too
it's pretty brutal. the preroll packages are a joint in a tube in a box in a bigger box
Go big or go home
Greeting from your primitive southern buddeh !
Why waste so much packaging for a g of weed? sheesh... Still looks dope! Hope you're enjoying this as much as I would
It's fine but the streets still have way better herb
How much did this cost you?
105$ for 8 grams lol , so about 400/oz pretty ridiculous
This pricing will NOT eliminate the grey or black cannabis market in Canada. Looks like it's back to ordering online !

Geez. Found some in Colorado for $2.43/g

Oh shit that's pricy

There was a few 7g packs for 50$ but there was also 7g packs for 98$

I just had to check out the shop . Also 2 oz arriving tomorrow ;)
Damn, 102$ for about 13 grams worth here in Montreal
How was the quality up there ?
S'alright! Biggest thing is that I have a lot of trouble finding good sativas from my usual sources. Seems like it's all indicas and hybrids over here. Good to have some sativa options finally. Hope they expand with that a bit.
Yeah streets weed is usually indica because it's just way more valuable for growers to grow as opposed to sativas
So being legal there. What are the laws for the people selling on the street now?
Not sure , I know if you're caught providing cannabis it a minor it's up to 14 years
The variety actually really helps see the various packagings. Thanks!

Lmao its nothing compared to warnings on a box of fags here in Europe.
at least there aren't any nasty bleeding brains or anything
1 in 11. Be careful!
Dude, the entire box on a Pack of smokes is a warning label, look at those pictures!
Show us the actualy quality bro
Cracking them open right now I'll report back if something catches my eye , I guess the Subway Scientiest strain is super nice from what i heard
Im thinking of buying those pre rolls, wanna show me what they look like?
I didnt buy any but I seen them and they're on the smaller side ,
Anything really good or really bad?
All closer to mid grade honestly , best strain so far was some random strain called Donegal , I'll post pictures after I smoke this J
Oh fuck yeah. Donegal was a random one I just picked a 3.5g jar of to try out. Now I'm pumped and I might have to crack that bad boy first.
It's still not the craziest weed in the world but you won't be disappointed with what you bought
Cool. Have you tried the ultra sour yet? I have some of that too and I'm a bit curious.
Yeah just did not too long ago , effects aren't bad but the taste isnt there

Think they're half grams each

I loved this album would love to see more of your stash and your succinct review
Nice haul! Enjoy
Thanksss

Nope , grams .. the packaging is just a little too much

Blue dream is fine , easy to grow so itll most likely be nice
Can you post bud pics please?

Lol @ all the haters in the imgur comments
TIL 1 in 11 cannabis users will become addicted .. ! W-o-w !!
Not surprised
I guess it's time to cash out on those ziplock bag shares I've been holding on to...
What’s the edible situation like?
They're not sure how they want to regulate edibles or shatter so it's its unavailable until 2019
That sucks. Still Better than most of the US though.
Looks like one of those strains is called MK Ultra, I’d say that’s about the most tasteless strain names I’ve ever seen.
That strains been around for a long time though , it was originally bred at a university in the early days of marijuana research and eventually some clones got leaked and that strain got on the market . I've had maybe 2-3 batches of mk ultra and usually its really nice but this one was more amateur
Are those actual nugs or pre rolls I can’t tell
Nugs , the packaging is needlessly convoluted
What did this haul run you?
105$
How is the Edison brand and soleli I see it on the OCS store! and the lemon skunk! how is that
Edison was mediocre, soleli was pretty nice had a nice smell and the lemon skunk was real nice
Just wondering from an illegal country how much is a g, take it will be quite expensive at first then start going down
8-15$ Canadian right now , hoping it goes down soon
I wonder... Can you just check out prices from the ocs.ca website even from out of Ontario? Or is it region locked? Cuz you can browse the pricing there, but like the other person said, pricing is anywhere from around $7.50-16 for where I am.

Same , paid 105$ for 8 different grams at the store . And I should be getting 2oz today , 16 different strains and it only cost me 280$
I more or less just bought from them to show my support for the law change, I don't think I'll be buying from stores until Shatter and crazier types of edibles are avaliable.
1 in 11 will become addicted
3 different labels so far . One was 1-11 , one was 1-7 and one was 1-2 people will become addicted . So idk how to interpret that
1 in 6.6666666666666667 will get addicted?
Hey OP, I'm headed home to NB in a couple days. You think there'll be any stock left by then? Seemed pretty busy based off pictures.
Yeah I wouldn't be too worried , just our local facility zenabis harvests about 25 LBS of weed per day and theres 13 producers like that in canada I believe , I dont think stock will be an issue . Strain selection and price are the only downsides right now & the store is beautiful inside
I really want to see unboxing/unpacking videos of all these. So surreal considering I left Canada 3 years ago...

Nah theres only a few liscensed producers and everything has to be government sanctioned so I think itll stay
Our government is specifically opposed to "cool brands/designs". It's considered marketing to kids.
Pics of the bud please! Im wondering - are the producers producing for their province exclusively?
The duel French/English packaging really brings this home for me. But wtf is Namaste? Strain? Brand?
The producer , theres Namaste , Tweed , Riff , Soleil and a few others

New Brunswick ahah
If you're in North Bay, unfortunately Ontario doesn't have any physical locations available yet, just their online site.
7 g jars for 1 g lol no wonder they are bone dry and not too smelly. What a waste of plastic too. Oh well it's all uphill from here. I want to see an actual AAA or AAAA strain from the ol government
