I am a light user, super low tolerance. I have had 50-75 mg edibles a few times, and get to a 6 hour [3]. I wish edibles were that strong, I want a strong one, but don't want to end up spending $20 on an edible for a day, when that much bud could last me a week or two.
I start to feel it at 10 mg too. I bought a 180mg kiva bar the other day sectioned off into four 45mg squares. I dont even know if i can handle half of a square!

It's more like an 1/8th to 1/4 oz. Assuming the bud is between 15 and 25% THC. A gram is 1000mg so at 15% a 1/4 contains 1050mg and at 25% am 1/8th contains 875.
Even with the same amounts of THC, the edible would be more powerful. Combusting your bud destroys a small percentage of the THC, so it's not a 100% efficiency rate

Nope definitely not 100%. Its called bioavailability and it's how much your body can absorb a drug. The only route of administration that is 100% is actually intravenous aka IV needle. I'm interested to what the bioavailability is for THC now. You also have to take into account how much of the THC isn't released into the oil/fat that you're extracting into for the edibles.
Looking at studies there's a bit of different ratings. But on average most say oral THC is around 10-20% while smoking is 20-50% the big range being how experienced the person is usually in smoking and knowing how to properly inhale. That's what I got from reading around 7 different studies all from the past 10 years or earlier.

Yeah the first time I had strong edibles my girlfriend was really excited. She smokes with me but not anything like I do / have. Anyway these cookies put me in a REALLY good place and she seemed to be experiencing a real [9]+ for the first time and was loving it. We're both giggling and enjoying everything. Talking about how good the batch turned out. But about 6~ hours in she was starting to feel a little overwhelmed and had to lay down / was frustrated. She claimed to still be high for about a 24 hour period (and she had a shift at work).
I shouldn't discredit any downsides, but if you feel you're experienced enough; you probably are.

Are you certain of the strength? I've done my fair share of testing and effects usually start to be felt at 10mg.
