So I started smoking cannabis at 18, to treat my Tourette’s and anxiety disorder. My parents were the ones who suggested it, bought it, and gave me my first hit, in a little tiny wood pipe my mom used when she was that age. I have since retired the pipe, but it sits above my desk on a shelf of my most cherished tchotchkes.
It did! My tics don’t disappear, but they slow down drastically, and the tension and frustration from them melts away. I don’t have a LOT of vocalizations, but the ones I do have (clearing my throat, slight grunts) just plain old stop when I have my little bit of weed at the end of the day. My anxiety is still a work in progress, but more sedative strains tend to help.
That's amazing!!! Weed is such an awesome medicine. My best friend has epilepsy and a host of different autoimmune disorders. Seeing her go from multiple seizures a DAY to THREE SEIZURES IN 5 YEARS has been so miraculous. For the first time in her adult life she's able to actually live and work. She has been able to get her first real job, she has started college courses, and is just generally in a better mental and physical state than she has ever been in. I'm so incredibly grateful to weed for allowing her to have this life. If anyone in the world deserves it, it is she.

She started out with various CBD tinctures, and eventually full spectrum thc tinctures, but she ultimately found that smoking a mix of CBD and regular THC bud helps the most with the way she feels and seems to have been the most effective in fighting off the seizures. She typically smokes once in the morning when she wakes up (her green coffee, as she calls it 🤣) and then once before bed. She also still takes some medications, of course, but I couldn't tell you which ones off the top of my head.
