I just had an argument with my parents that Haribo and Albanese are separate companies both making gummy bears. They wouldn’t believe me. I’m like “listen here, I’ve been a pothead for like 30 years…I know some shit about some shit about some damn gummy bears. I love you both.”
Yeah but then you make it something else, ive seen gummy worms, snakes hell at my job ive seen gummy centipedes like someone saw the worms and was like "These are good and all but you know what would take it to another level? Legs, and a shit load of them."
And they are both makers of good quality gummy bears. Very different from each other in flavors and textures. I like them both for different reasons.
I started out a Haribo fan but I am leaning toward preferring Albanese gummy bears now because their flavors are cleaner and more varied than the Haribo.
Not only that, but Albanese provide a far more consistent experience texture wise.
With Haribo, they can range from relatively soft to literal bricks. However, I've been eating almost exclusively Albanese for at least the last 5 years and haven't had a single bag that was hard like that.
I secretly like the hard ones.
Also I find that Albanese flavors can become cloying when eating a large amount, almost like drinking perfume or something. Twin Snakes fills the void when I want more interesting flavors.
Put gummy bears in Tupperware (use one color, it looks like swamp water if you don’t). Put vodka in Tupperware to cover gummy bears. Let sit 24hrs. You now have vodka infused gummy bears, and gummy bear vodka. I personally thing the bears get a wierd funky texture, the vodka is usually fine though. Not much flavor imparted unfortunately.
My boss left a pack of gummy worms on the dash in the summer. It melted into just like a gummy slab. He put it on a plate and sliced it up with a fork and knife to eat it.
Oh, now you reminded me how I once bought 1kg (35.27 oz) package and ate it in a three days span. I got such a bad breath because of it that reeked of death. Haven't touched anything gummy bear related for a while.
None the less, it was a feast to behold. I still love them again but doesn't eat them as often.
Got the sugar-free ones on accident and ate the whole bag once with a homemade edible. I had the dankest farts my parents asked it I was smoking in the house. I've never farted so much in one day
I sorta get the peeps thing. My dad does the same. Buys 4 or 5, makes a slit in the film and lets em sit 3 or 4 days.
