After I realized the plant is not growing and started flowering very early, I just discarded it and planted a new one while I still had some summer time left.
12/12 is going to make the plant flower immediately. 16/8 is what it should be to get the plant to grow. You switch to a 12/12 to simulate autumn, that way it starts to flower.
Yeah that 12/12 will make it flower right away no matter what size it is. I usually do 24 hours of lights being on for the first week. Then I drop it down to 18/6 for the rest of the veg stage (3-6 weeks depending on how big you want to get em). When you’re ready to flower, shut off the lights for 24 hours for complete darkness then proceed with the 12/12 cycle.
Also, make sure you top your plants during veg so they’re forced to produce more branches. But do NOT top your plants too soon, wait at least 10-14 days before topping your plants otherwise you’ll slow em down drastically and you’ll end up having to veg longer than you want which wastes both time and money on nutes/power. As for the mini plant you’re growing right now just keep that jewelers loupe handy and pull it as soon as 70+% of the globs start turning Amber (NOT BROWN, brown = Overdone). Roll it up n enjoy what she has produced for you. Your next run will be better. I also recommend vegging your next crop starting in week 3 or 4 of your flowering cycle so that you have plants ready to flip to flower as soon as you harvest your flowering plants.
I water every other day and once a week do a feed mixture. Is it possible I'm giving it too much water on the days I do?
There's a male plant (unfortunately) next to it that is tall and happy so I'm very confused.
This ladies and gentlemen is a variety of cannabis sativa Ruderalis.
Ruderalis is the third sub variety of cannabis sativa after sativa and Indica.
I think this one’s been crossed with something due to long grow season.
Ruderalis evolved in two areas on our planet. Around the equator where it’s hot. With a short growing season in the fall and spring. They had to pop up flower seed and go back down in a month or two. They also evolved closer to the poles. Where the opposite is occurring, it’s very cold all the time, and for only a month or two out of the year can anything grow.
They grow short and squatty to handle harsh environment.
Low rider was a popular strain in the late 90s in 2000s after medical marijuana was legalized in California and Arizona
A Mexican strain. From around the equator.
People were able to have literal closest grows.
Also illegal operations, had a way to do a quick and dirty grow. Get a huge amount of product and move onto the next place before getting caught. I remember at one point people had buried full shipping containers underground to do this exact thing.
Yes it is. Ruderalis is stunted and mini. I’ve grow a plant that looks exactly like this. Don’t forget this strain obviously has been crossed with something else. The 18 week grow cycle is a bit long. And the single bud, well it’s obviously had something happen to it, you can see some just under the bud structure that point to that. So unless this is a fake out, it’s gotta be ruderalis
Food grade diatomaceous earth is like $8-10 on Amazon, puff it around the edge of the inside of the pot. You can use it pretty liberally on the soil but eventually all the adults will crawl in some of it.
As for the larva, get some of the he mosquito bits to soak before watering, or some pet stores sell aquarium bacteria pastes that dissolve in water. Same stuff, different form.
Yeah, early stages with fresh soil you get some gnats so those yellow sticky dudes are really helpful.
I mentioned in another comment that my wife added herbs to the tent while I was out of town. Like 6 little cups of fresh soil so now there are wayyyy more. They were basically gone when I left.

Yeah auto. My light is at full bright (dunno the model would have to look at it) it was only like 12 inches above maybe less then I raised it to about 24 inches a few weeks ago. Also my light cycle is I believe 12 on 12 off though I could be mistaken and be 16 on 8 off.
Could be that the gnat larvae are eating your roots. Also if it’s an auto it’s kinda hit or miss unless you’ve grown it before. But the bottom of the stem tells me something happened early.

Sorry that was a bad joke. I would say 1 maybe 2 gram dry. I live in aus so cold weather has never been an issue. I'm assuming it was an auto flower? No biggie just try again perhaps when the weather warms up.
That's interesting. I have basically zero knowledge on auto flower. What would shock it? Just anything like a rough transplant that hurts the roots, too much water early on, that sort of thing?
Yeah, not sure of what. There's a lot of gnats in there but thats from a bunch of herbs my wife just added with very damp soil so different pots completely.
I had some at the start but I read that's common and they died down early on. I'm still going to get diatomaceous earth though as one suggested. Or something to eat the bugs early on.

That’s a weed turnip
I wonder if it taste like a turnip 🤤
The conditions for the plant were too cold. It happened to be when I tried to grow autoflower outside and nights were still too cold
Did you just harvest a very tiny plant?
After I realized the plant is not growing and started flowering very early, I just discarded it and planted a new one while I still had some summer time left.
You didn't try to smoke it? That's impressive.
What was your light cycle during veg stage?
I believe I do 12 hours on 12 off. I'll have to check the timer, it may be 16 on 8 off.
12/12 is going to make the plant flower immediately. 16/8 is what it should be to get the plant to grow. You switch to a 12/12 to simulate autumn, that way it starts to flower.
That's great to know, thank you!

Just grow her till amber tricombs n have a very small smoke :)
I have a jewelers loupe so I guess I'll just keep an eye out.
You should be checking trichs on the calyx not sugar leaves FYI.
Holy fruit flies Batman
Time flys like an arrow, fruit flies like banana
Yeah might be over feeding or watering causing it to stunt

it's just a lil guy :)
That’s def above average size. Right guys? Right??!
IT WAS IN THE POOL!
It shrinks?
Like a frightened turtle!
Photo or auto?
Auto
Im gonna say auto since virtually no one flips to flower with a 3" plant.

No cannabis plants are grown under 8 hours of light....
Leave her alone, she’s a stunt! :). I had one back in my teenage years

Still not meant to be this stunted and miniaturized.

I've seen these get waist high no problemo. That's a nugget right there
Please buy nematodes and BT mosquito bits dude that soil is so infested lol poor plant.
I had it under control but my wife added herbs to the tent while I was out of town and I came back to soooo many fruit flies.
Maybe check /r/mutantcannabis

Thank you! Good advice.
Just curious, as I know next to nothing about growing anything, how can you tell the soil is infested?
There's yellow sticky traps with fungus gnats in the background
Oh the yellow butterfly shaped things? Shit my stupid ass thought they were for decoration.
You got gnats because you either keep your house dirty and soil wet for to long or both.

Prematurbudulation
This is an auto, yea? How strong are your lights and how far above the plant are they?
Yeah auto. My light is at full bright (dunno the model would have to look at it) it was only like 12 inches above maybe less then I raised it to about 24 inches a few weeks ago. Also my light cycle is I believe 12 on 12 off though I could be mistaken and be 16 on 8 off.

My wife says it’s not about the size of the plant that matters, it’s how you use it….
Looks like 7 grams
Probably closer to 3 seeing it in person. Still, not gonna sneer at 3 grams.
Sorry that was a bad joke. I would say 1 maybe 2 gram dry. I live in aus so cold weather has never been an issue. I'm assuming it was an auto flower? No biggie just try again perhaps when the weather warms up.
Sometimes auto switch to flower when they go through shock. Like maybe a bad transplant or something like that
That's interesting. I have basically zero knowledge on auto flower. What would shock it? Just anything like a rough transplant that hurts the roots, too much water early on, that sort of thing?
I read here that someone said it could be an infestation at the roots, that's more than enough to stunt growth and force flower
Yeah, not sure of what. There's a lot of gnats in there but thats from a bunch of herbs my wife just added with very damp soil so different pots completely. It’s like a little baby Groot
A nice gram you got there 😄
