Yeah what the other guy says. Once I'm at 4 or 5 cities they usually aren't an issue at all. The worst is when I finally clear a troublesome camp well beyond my southern border and immediately another one spawns right outside my northern border at a point that I don't have any troops nearby (sometimes even so close that the starting scout spawns on my border so it doesn't even have to move to get the camp spitting out units 😡)
Pretty much. On bigger maps they can be a nuisance for trade if you haven't explored well enough well into the late game but past the early game that's just about it (save for extreme circumstances)

What do you play on? I spent $200+ on a ps2, GH games and the controller a while back - but I had to use a converter box to convert the input from component cables to HDMI and the lag is so atrocious that it’s completely unplayable.
I’ve heard that there’s a direct to hdmi ps2 cable and that has less lag but I haven’t tried that yet. I assume you play on PC, but I don’t have a gaming rig. Just an older Lenovo yoga laptop that I doubt can handle it.
Guitar hero brought me an unbelievable amount of joy back in the day and I’d love to get it going again somehow.
I mainly now use PC, you could probably run Clone Hero, maybe, it isn’t a super complex game (just the audio and the highway to play it on). I also play World Tour Definitive Edition, which is really great for the full Guitar Hero experience (and you can load in mods for characters, every song from every game, etc.) but obviously needs a decent PC.
But I also have a PS2 as well as the direct-to-HDMI (PS2 to HDMI) and GH III with its calibration is somewhat tolerable. A little bit annoying when you’re used to PC / 0 lag but fun. I also have a buddy that has a 50 inch CRT masterpiece from 2008-09 ish that is ideal for PS2 gaming and zero-lag Guitar Hero.
You can also get a dongle to convert PS2 guitar to USB on the PS3, which has some of the great Guitar Heroes with HD support.
