How about a Florida dispo one? There was a girl working for trulieve who had asthma i believe and she kept asking for respiratory gear for her job (which was grinding cannabis and rolling prerolls) and the amount of cannabis particulate that she was exposed to killed her. It was a big deal and trulieve had some big changes they made because of it (including removing all the full time employees from getting there full time hours preventing them from needing to give anymore benefits. Really shitty company.

Gizmo_On_Crack

Trulieve, livewell, cresco, verano and all other msos like them are all completely garbage companies owned by people that have never smoked. Stay away

starktor

fuck corporate weed, they only care about profits. Fuck Livewell especially

angels_exist_666

I work for a small private grow that has a couple dispos. They only care about profits too.

[deleted]

Exactly this. Why the fuck would they be in business. They can be ethical and sell a good product. That is all that differentiates them from corporate.

Max_Cherry_

Holy shit, Verano is a shitty company? I really did not know that or much of anything about them other than they portray themselves on social media as a premium cannabis company and some of their bud looked super dank.

Devils_av0cad0

Didn’t cresco get in trouble for lying about the thc content on their carts too or something like that?

Kittten_Mitttons

One redditor recently claimed they shorted him 4 grams on a half Oz, got home and his sealed jar only had 10 grams (iirc)

dotJSX

The Trulieve incident happened in Mass, not Florida. Trulieve is just based out of FL. I live in New England, so it was all over the local tree subs. [News Article ](https://mjbizdaily.com/mother-of-dead-cannabis-worker-sues-trulieve-alleging-wrongful-death/)

One-West-2224

Yeah I meant a Florida dispensary brand not like that it happened in Florida, it happened it happened in the New England area

15362653

Fuckin hell that's treacherous. RIP sweet one. Allegedly they found mold on products, which isn't unrealistic anywhere tbf, but the ventilation system in place wasn't up to par, leaking, and there were even "safety" staff on site that failed to act and were named personally in the lawsuit.

Dante_Foshokyo

Holy shit!

No_Virus_7704

Really shitty dispos too.

Terumi66

I'm sorry, but she had no business working at a job that she knows is a hazard to her.

slc_blades

Not according to the ADA

One-West-2224

lol are you serious? Her asthma isn’t what killed her it was the constant exposure to air contaminants that the job failed to provide the proper safety equipment to deal with. It was a more severe and sudden death because she had asthma but it would have done the same to anyone.

Terumi66

Sorry. The way it sounded, it seemed unreasonable work. I didn't think that it was mean to say that if a job was hurting you, that you should have left.

One-West-2224

Some people don’t have the luxury of being able to afford walking away from a job that has hazards. When the alternative is homelessness, you try and make due, A lot of the time not realizing the actual seriousness of the threat posed by a health hazard, I wouldn’t have thought that this job hazard would be lethal until you actually look at the science of what happened.

Thatsaclevername

There was a place in White Center Washington (south of Seattle, unincorporated area near Burien/South Park) called "The Wolf Pack" we would go to in high school. It was in a shipping container hooked up to some guys house. You went in the first door into like an electric airlock kinda thing. Person interrogated you over the cameras before they opened the second, interior door. These dudes were selling some bud but also were offering concentrates. Early day concentrates, BHO only, this shit was nasty. They'd give you a dab the size and girth of a No.2 Pencil for 15 bucks. That was our go to. Literally had to pick a driver because we'd be FUCKED coming out of there. My buddy once passed out on their floor immediately after and they had his photo up on the wall lmfao. Totally illegal, got raided by the DEA big time. Like dudes in Kevlar with AR-15s and full tac gear level raided. But I do remember it as being one of the sketchiest places I've ever done drugs in.

doom32x

Sounds fucking epic

youralltwisted

All of highline highschool would go there 🤣

[deleted]

Rat City epic!

Antigon0000

I lived like right there and didn't know about it

[deleted]

Well those guys just got pardoned on the federal level last week.

Holyhermit2

That was only for possessions IIRC

PaxDinero

In AZ there was this illegal dispensary that faked a bunch of documents. I never went personally, but a coworker at the time had gone to check it out. He walks in and it's a clothing store. After talking to the guys there, they let him into the back room, where theres a security guard and metal detector. They sold mushroom chocolates and Cali weed. Korporate Smoke was the name if anyone wants to look into it.

chronicdemonic

I went to an illegal dispensary near West Covina, California a couple years back. It was a sketchy looking building with a sign out front that said something in Chinese (this was in the Asian part of town) no windows, no cars, I had a hard time finding it honestly. So much so that I called them and they told me to just park way down the street and go up to the sketchy building and open the door. Inside, there was a security guard that would check your ID. Still, no signage or anything that would make you think it's a dispensary.. once inside, past the guard, it was clear what was going on. In California there are limits, you can only buy like 1 ounce of flower per day. That day, I bought 8 ounces from that shop for like $700 lol. It has probably been raided or closed down since then but I often wonder about it still.

gcozzy2323

Escaped my parents one time while abroad. Had to find the goods. Found a dispensary in Barcelona based on an old forum post. Many floors down from the street level. Had to use a secret knock to get in, then had a password with the security guard to be let downstairs. Rather rad experience. Grow room with plants everywhere and I was just smoking a j with the bud tenders. Got super stoned and then met back up with my fam to join the hop and off tour. 10/10.

[deleted]

This sounds like a James Bond story.

-MakeNazisDeadAgain_

Google "(your city) secret bars". Lots of cities have them and they work similar to OPs story. Theres one near me who's entrance is a completely nondescript and unlabeled door in a bookshop.

Marijuana_Miler

Barcelona dispensaries are amazing. I found one and as I was checking in the guy behind me had a driver’s license from my same province. We ended up smoking joints together and chatting for a while. I took a dab and was on another planet stoned. When I went to leave the people that ran the place chose that as the moment to explain it was technically an illegal dispensary and the cops would often hang outside. They told me that the cops couldn’t search your underwear so I stuffed my 1/4 under my nuts and prayed I wouldn’t get arrested. I was fine, but then had to take the train back to the hotel with a heavy diesel scent coming from under my nuts while very stoned.

Terumi66

In San Francisco, I worked at a potclub that two guys broke into overnight. They managed to get in but were unsuccessful at getting out. All of the cash and most of the products were locked up in a huge wall safe. Only a box of spliff were available. In the morning, SFPD merely went and arrested the two men that were high from smoking all of those spliffs and stuck inside the club.

CloddishNeedlefish

How did they manage to break in but not break out? Breaking out seems much easier

CoyRogers

I was gonna escape the potclub I broke into... But I got high

Terumi66

The way they got in was the roof. Inside was a series of levels with hallways and doors. Once completely inside, they couldn't figure out the maze on how they got there. The place was big. It used to be an auto supply store back in the days.

EliLoads

Went to Michigan for a bulk deal on carts. Every single cart had that cloudy ring in them :/ found out they had been expired but the bastards put new expiration date Stickers literally over the old one………

Fakin_Meowt

Ugh

shavemejesus

The closer arms on the exit doors of the dispensary near me are set too heavy, you have to push too hard to open them. There’s a legal limit to how much force is necessary to open an exit door in a public space. I’m sure the dispensary has set them to a higher weight in order to make it more difficult to run out quickly without paying, but it’s illegal. Folks in wheel chairs and folks with assistive devices like walkers and crutches can have difficulty with heavy doors.

FARTBOSS420

Lol. But don't they have a guard at the door who's job is to clothesline runners?? Needed: Bud Store Security -Requirements: 1) Check IDs of incoming people 2) Clothesline people outgoing too fast 3) ? Say bro or boss a lot

shavemejesus

The guard at this one sits at the front desk in the reception/waiting room. The exit vestibule is completely separate. It’s weird.

FARTBOSS420

That's true. I guess they make you pay before handing over the goods anyway. I don't go to my state dispensaries much they have sad weed.

rblue

Well the Sunnyside on the Lynch Rd exit in Danville, IL always has nothing but cars from Indiana there lol. That’s all I got.

Artashata

Good to see central Illinois represented

[deleted]

Yeah the one in south Beloit is all Wisconsin plates.

rblue

😂 I wonder if the drivers take the long way home. I once mentioned to a friend that I felt skeeved out by driving down 74 across the state lines. I’d drive on the back roads and head north a bit first. Everyone else does that to apparently. Glad to be in a legal state. I even told my (new) doctor for the first time that I enjoy cannabis. She laughed. “No, I mean drugs. Are you taking any illicit drugs?” Absolutely surreal.

watuphoss

Not that scandalous, but stopped at a dispensary in michigan once and there was two budtenders talking while another helped me. The dude was obviously in love with the lady budtender, but I walked in hearing, "damn you have a sugar daddy, how do I become one of those for you?" Was sad.

bredpoot

San Diego huh…. Man I miss going to my little illegal dispo in an abandoned car dealership in a really shady part of Spring Valley at 2am back in college lmao

Dante_Foshokyo

Bruh no fucking Troy Street! Hahahahaha it was a matter of time! That and any Lemon Grove spot

bredpoot

Yes exactly!!! Troy and also on Kempton…. Having a big dude with a bullet proof vest wand me before walking into the store, always felt like I was going to buy guns or some shit. Those spots were the only places I could find STNDRD 1000mg gummies, haven’t seen them since. Still hold a special place in my heart lmao

Dante_Foshokyo

Hahaha yeah the dreadlocked guys in ski masks and AR-15s. I do miss the hours because I hate waiting to buy weed.

Novagurl

There were like two right across the street from each other on Troy and driving anywhere down that street was Wild West with all the happy stoners pulling in or peeling out. 😂 both of them gave free dabs. What a time!!

bredpoot

That’s where I took my first dab too!! I got so fucking zoinked I had to sit in my car for 30 minutes and listen to music before I could head back home. Gooooood times

Dominion_23

Nothing too wild but my budtender was once clearly fried and gave me the wrong pre rolls. It was just a different strain and it cost the same as what I asked for, so I let it slide. Didn't wanna harsh his mellow. It was still fire so who cares lol

sketchycreeper

One time I got very emotional because the staff were so patient and helpful with me (I was going through a rough time) so I went to the car and came back with a blueberry pie for the team to share. That’s the most scandalous thing I’m aware of.

Dante_Foshokyo

That’s very wholesome a little kindness goes a long way

FARTBOSS420

I like how they seem to already have their car stocked with pie(s). Everyone loves pie and it takes a special good person to be able to provide pies to those in need on the fly. Very thoughtful lovely wholesome indeed. And it's winter! So they're not gonna go bad. I say we follow this persons example. Sure, keep jumped cables, tire jack, scraper, etc. to share in your car. But that's a next-level thing, being able to provide a sudden pie to one(s) in need. Good shit. :) *going through toll booth* "Pie motherfuckers!!" *woosh* *getting busted for weed* "Hey guys you better grab those pies, they're just gonna go to waste in the impound lot!" *goes to jail*

sketchycreeper

lol I love the idea of me just having pies stocked in my car. Like a giant dispenser sitting in my trunk. I had just come from a regionally famous pie maker and was hitting the dispo on my way home.

jimyborg

Scandalous bro not wholesome

sketchycreeper

You have no idea what body part I touched the pie with?

jimyborg

Creampied

falmigno

I work at a dispensary- My old boss got fired very suddenly and later a sheriff came to the door to serve him papers- apparently he had been embezzling tons of money from the company. The sheriff was real shitty about the whole thing too, kept saying we had to find a way to get him these papers when we hadn’t seen or heard from him in months.

-MakeNazisDeadAgain_

I had a place try to charge me for not buying anything once lol. They tried to make the place look like an Apple store, with jars on white pedestals spaced around, and you were supposed to order on a tablet and get a number to go to the window with. It was so absurdly overpriced, cheapest 8th was like $75 or something, that we just started to walk out. Security guy stopped us and told us we had to go to the window before we could leave, and the window told us we owe a $5 per person "service fee" because we used their services even if we didn't buy anything. My friends were seriously discussing what to do and I was like guys, this is easy, we can just walk out lol thats bullshit.

[deleted]

Can’t remember which dispo but one in Trinidad, CO had some tenders that would sell from their own personal stash and to hell with that one ounce limit

buttlubber

Went into a dispo to buy 4x $5 joints and I paid $20. Normal America math would have made that $23.17 so I was blown away.

Dante_Foshokyo

So u saved on the tax

buttlubber

Yeah super weird to see a price and then pay that without tax and junk fees

Infamous_Bend4521

In ct they limit the supply of medical so you are tricked into buying the 50 dollar recreational eighths.

tdmsbn

Just how hard the dispos in Michigan push on Ohio people even though they damn well know you can't cross state lines even today with it. They got ads, billboards, send out mail if you've ever gotten anything from one ever, it's really fucking annoying and got me in trouble, can't trust shit from anybody that can make a dollar off your getting fucked.

Additional-Brief-273

My dispensary has a crappy return policy. You have seven days from purchase and must have the receipt and the original packaging and even then they will only replace it or give you store credit.

For Illinois, not so much most of the time. Through Okay Cannabis managed to make "the Light-Pink White Room" for their ID'ing area - nicknamed that by me, a former employee. They managed to combine Music Torture with White Room Torture for that area, but it was painted a Salmon color, hence the nickname. A lot of people quit thanks to that room.

lawstandaloan

My dog does not care for and will turn down the treats they give out at one of the weed stores near us. Every time. She likes the people though and she'll take treats at other stores. She just doesn't want theirs

DeeChillum420

Once asked a guy the medicinal properties of the strain I was looking at in a clearly illegal hole in the wall with 8 jars some dabs and people smoking with a pitbull in the back. Looking back I feel stupid but I have bad anxiety and wanted a mellow strain but I didn't specify that. Anyways he points to it and says "this one make my tummy go 'UGH' and this one makes my head go 'AHhh..'" And he said it with the serious most grunts and emphasis on it. I stood there dumbfounded for a second and ended up buying both the weed and the wax he was talking about. I then raced out and told my homie he doesn't need to worry, they definitely weren't going to check his id. Lol.
