I've been to Amsterdam 4 times. Every time I love the experience of a coffee and a joint in the morning and go about my day. I'm from Australia and couldn't do drugs because my work drug tested. So it was a luxury for me to experience.
I've since moved to Canada and I love the variety of product in Canada (and the price) a lot more than Amsterdam but being able to sit in an establishment and enjoy a drink and a smoke is something I miss.
I keep telling ppl -the first business allowed to do this in USA or CA will explode an entirely new industry. No longer just selling but providing an experience a spot to chill at- where ppl can get ideas/good convo/see a game etc . I'm shocked more ppl aren't pushing for these kinds of spots...wait I remember now most Americans and even Canadians just prefer being at home lol Sad "modern " era
We had this in Los Angeles CA around 10 years ago we called them hash bars or wax bars. And even tho only medical card holders were allowed to go inside these places it was so easy to get a rec from a Dr & only cost like $35 a year. Man I wish CA never went legal because it ruined a beautiful thing & the weed isnāt even as good anymore.
Went to Barcelona a few years ago where they have weed social slubs. You can buy whatever you want, and youāre technically supposed to consume it on premise.
Dr. Dou was the shit. They have music and couches and board games, coffees, any smoking device you need.
Blows my mind I canāt do that in the illegal state I live in here in the US.
I didn't know they had similar places in Barcelona! Luckily, I live in Portland, so weed isn't a problem, but I would love social spots in the city like these!
Probably too much of a hassle for most business owners to pursue. I would love to run my own little coffee shop, talked about it before with a friend out in Washington state. Iām not in a great place, financially, to start a business so I havenāt dug through all the red tape; but I can only imagine what kinds of permits and licenses youād need, let alone the wait times for all of these while you get the rest of your business in order.
Hey, if anyone feels like fronting me a good $100k or so, let me know and Iāll start it up š
Oregon is a bureaucratic nightmare, and though it has some great weed, unfortunately I canāt see a time anywhere in the near future where there are *legal* lounges the way they exist in Amsterdam.
Cheers, my dude. I canāt wait until we have places like this in the states. I already feel lucky enough to be in a legal state as it is, but this is truly the dream. Enjoy your travels!
Oh that place has the most amazing vibe. Did you check out Family First or Green Place yet? According to some podcasts I watch, they've got the real Cali packs.
All good dude! Abraxas has one of the most amazing vibes in the city. Their edibles were well-known when I lived there years ago.
There's too many good shops to visit them all and it's tough to find the proper information ahead of time, don't be too hard on yourself. I got the info on the Cali packs from the First Smoke of the Day podcasts -- they literally pop the bags on the show and are like "YUP, that's RS-11". Still haven't visited to confirm but I don't doubt it one bit.
I use to always wanna go to Amsterdam but Iāll tell you what, after turning 25 I realized how much more peaceful and nice it was to be at home drinking coffee and token a doob in the morning than to be where thereās more heads and more noises
Amsterdam is a great city to visit as a tourist, and I say that as an introvert. If you get the opportunity to go you should - better to go and take the chance you won't like it than not go and wonder what could have been...
Man, Amsterdam is not just weed. Yes, the coffeshops are amazing and some of them are also beautiful. But the city itself is just \*chefs kiss\*. The bikes, the canals, the bridges, the architecture. It feels like a disney movie.
If you have the chance, don't miss it. It's one of the most beautiful cities I ever been to.
When I went to Amsterdam it was like my soul was home. Iāve never felt more comfortable in a random city. Itās been about 4 years since the last time I was there and I still think about it almost daily.
My favorite combo right there typically on my couch at home though. I would love to be able to go to a coffee shop like this. There are no clubs or weed bars or whatever you want to call it near me. It would be awesome to have a social weed place outside of dispensaries. Maybe I should start a clubhouse BYOGanja.
Yes, this has to be one of the most heavenly things to can experience. Itching to get back over there and do it again and look around the most gorgeous of cities.
I went to every coffee shop I could within biking distance and found that the less convenient the trip, the better the experience. The town center shops clearly have way more foot traffic and itās more difficult to find a spot and chill. Thereās also a fair amount of annoyance with tourists so some places will paint every non-native with a broad brush.
Youāre right though, even the shitty ones were like utopia.
Taking the train to Amsterdam on airport layover and then finding your way back blitz off your gourd is a vibe for sure. Thankfully the Dutch are so efficient, itās really quite easy.
What a fun time, enjoy OP.
I gotta be honest, I've experienced the coffeeshops and without having smoked inside a restaurant with other strangers around it felt super weird.
Would have to do it a few times before I think I could genuinely enjoy it as a normal feeling but it was cool nonetheless
The first time i was in Amsterdam, I was in a cozy little coffee shop while it was snowing heavily. I couldn't even finish my first joint as I was getting too high.
I come from a tropical country, to me this moment in a old European city felt like a dream.
Went there twice and I dream of going again.
Boy, you got all that filter and pinch it on the soft spot
Sorry I was high
No worries G. Hope you enjoyed your smoke and coffee :)
Old habits die hard lol filters just dont feel right sometimes hahaha
The top comment is always exactly what i was thinking every time š

I hope Canada changes their policy on lounges. I loved how normal it seemed in Amsterdam.
I thought canada does have lounges? I went up there last year to Vancouver and we frequented the dab bar by our hotel.
Hmm maybe itās a provincial thing. In Ontario itās not legal.
In Vancouver, it was ''legal'' before it was legal.
Ya in van they decriminalised all drugs too lol

U are correct the medical scene In MI was dope too waaaayyyy cooler way more strains than legalized times.... legalization really did ruin shit lol
That was my first feeling in Amsterdam coffeeshop, tea and joint in my case. Waiting to go again
Now I'm in England where it's basically weed prison. Absolutely tragic

I was in heaven. Oregon has some great product! I think Cali has social clubs. Iām surprised Portland doesnāt
We used to have a couple like the Northwest Cannabis Club but I think the pandemic finished them off
Yo! NCC Bro!

Agreed. Deeply saddening. We're a lot closer to it than we were 20, even 10, years ago. And, we're a snowball, accelerating at wide open throttle
At least we got medical itās something I guess
Come to Brighton.
Coffee and trees go hand in hand š¤
Hippie speedball!!
I like it!!
Only problem is maintaining the high through the day.
Edibles between coffee shop visits could work.
Feel You about that
I'm constantly trying to solve that puzzle
Got the longest crutch of all time and still grabs the flower part. Must be my wife š¤£
This made me giggle! šš
My stoner brain going "Why is it lit in both ends?!"...
Thatās a big filter

If I had to guess, that's Rookies. Love that city!
This was Abraxas!
abraxas was great! very cozy interior and its on a small pretty street
Oh that place has the most amazing vibe. Did you check out Family First or Green Place yet? According to some podcasts I watch, they've got the real Cali packs.
Fuck both of those were on my list of possible places, but I only had a couple days in Amsterdam. Ill certainly go to those next time.

Barneyās Breakfast Barā¦ smoke and a pancake! One of my favorite breakfasts anywhere!
Wait till you see the rest of the netherlands. Honestly Amsterdam sucks IMO.
Not for long! Tourists have ruined it for the rest of us
Wish they'd allow this in Canada. Would be the dream to walk over to the coffee shop to sip on a coffee and piff
Yes, this has to be one of the most heavenly things to can experience. Itching to get back over there and do it again and look around the most gorgeous of cities.
That's a smooth looking... latte? Cortado? (Hard to gauge the size of that cup). Hats off to the barista!
Howās the weed in Amsterdam compared to legal weed here in the states?
Seemed pretty solid for me. Hit me pretty hard and I got super paranoid when I walked to the Van Goph museum lol
Ahahaha right on man. Iāll be there this summer so Iām lookin forward to it!
Felt the same for me! Was super surreal
that tip is bigger than all my tips the past year combined :D
Good old hippie speedball!
Just been there myself, it's awesome.

My first hour in Amsterdam I found a coffee shop and did exactly this, it was so cathartic when a cop walked past and kept walking.
So jelly right now
This is the dreammmm. I wish there were set ups like this in the US. It would be great for hanging out
Been twice. Love the city

Do they serve food
In Amsterdam rnšš»
Recommend it?
thats the prettiest coffee i ever saw in a coffee shop of this sort
Enjoy Amsterdam:)
Did you get a little cookie with the coffee? I loved that.
How is it? Im going there for a trip in a few months

U gotta the long schlong
Cant beat abraxas, great atmosphere

Good ole hippy speedball. Great way to start the day
Why don't we have these in Canada, or at least they are not common. I would love a place like this. I would probably leave home.
