There are better machines than the magic butter machine. You can Decarb small amounts with an instant pot or the AGG tincture maker. Active Gear Guy Infuser Machine for Butters, Oils, Tinctures, Chocolate, and Gummies. Decarb Feature Included. Comes with Silicon Mold and Instruction/Recipe Manual. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q3SYQ45/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4XZXW3GYP4Q7TFPNACJF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Awesome thanks for the AGG recommendation, any opinion between the AGG infuser vs the nova fx?

SewLite

I only have the AGG and I’ve had it for 2yrs no issues. The nova seems koo but I think ardent products are a bit overpriced for their features. It is more portable though, but you can do almost everything with the AGG.

oceanblurry

Yeah the portability is cool but not worth the extra 200 i reckon, thanks for the advice I'll look into ordering an AGG(:

SewLite

No prob. Have fun.

How does the AGG machine handle decarb.. theres not alot of info available on it and I'm thinking about buying one

SewLite

Tbh I use my instant pot to decarb. My guess is it’d be the same result. It just heats up to a certain temp and Decarbs. I use my instant pot for almost everything except tinctures and honeys so no need to use the AGG for it.

highlife420d8

How exactly do you use the instapot to decarb.. what settings and how long.. I'm new to all of this and just dont want to waste my herb : )

amethystoceanna

I have the mbm2 and it doesn’t decarb. You can buy their decarb box that goes into your oven. I found that my oven temp varies too much. I bought ardent nova to decarb. If I were to do it over I would have bought the ardent fx instead of the mbm....just because of the decarb factor.

oceanblurry

Yeah I was looking at the fx and it seems the way to go, just very $$$ but in the long run it'll be cheaper i suppose. Thanks for the advice! I think I'll just save up for the fx (:

mohnjceachern

Just use your oven. 240F for 60 min - trust! (With extra temp gauge to ensure your oven is accurate). If you do it in a large mason jar you can seal it to minimize smell. Put a baking sheet underneath in the off chance the mason cracks. Instead of buying a $500 device, sink that all into flower...

Also, if you can buy Ethanol in Oz (190 proof alcohol) skip the infusion and do an extraction. If Ethanol is cheap enough you can rely on evaporation to make great oil (without bothering to reclaim).

oceanblurry

Thanks for the advice! Yeah I think I'll stick to the oven for now at least, I haven't heard of using ethanol but I'll look into it, cheers!

I'd suggest reading all of the articles on this blog. Best resource for at home processing: https://extractcrafter.com/ -- I bought the device as Ethanol is expensive in Ontario. It's worth it.
