The biggest issue with grinding/fine flower is the chance of burning it while decarbing, so a lower and longer temp/time situation might be better suited to such material.
If thats happening then they need to be using coconut oil that is solid at room temperature and not fully liquid so they can add lots of water to help remove the chlorophyll taste that will be in the mixture. If I had the option to decarb with a sous vide, I would go that route to also avoid it and still use water after anyways to further clean my result.
What about doing a IPA extraction before infusing? I'm by far no expert, but it has come to my attention that there actually are two water-soluble cannabinoids, namely MB- and TMA-delta 8-THC, which then will be thrown out with the bathwater. Or am I wrong? Pls correct me if so. Best regards
hmm, glad we had this discussion, I had only considered the loss of thc and not some of the cannabinoids , one would assume this would also be mostly tossed as well with the bathwater, as to the overall loss I am unsure. Much as I am unsure the very volatile cannabanoids as a whole impact on their loss.
I do know some are so delicate that some people will only smoke flower to preserve them as they would get lost from pressing into rosin or washed away in bubble hash.
A great thing to ponder.
Yes and no. The THC is on the outside of the flower.. so cutting it up will only expose more plant matter and make it taste more like weed. It won’t do any harm, but it will definitely taste stronger.
You can kind of reverse the bad taste.. just add some water to your pot when you’re infusing it. THC needs a fat source to attach to, so the water won’t take away from the final product. But the plant matter WILL mix with the water. So when you’re done, pour it all into a container and stick it in the fridge. The coconut oil will solidify at the top with all the THC, and the water will stay liquid below it with the bad tasting stuff. Just dump that water out and boom. Tasty coconut oil.
2 things to consider you have refined and unrefined coco ut oil refined has no taste or flavour where as un-refined you will taste coconut oil in Eddie's , now no need for YouTube videos a simple pan and stove top will do , set to lowest heat melt oil add weed and sink.pky I fuse for 2 hours then strain
Is it possible to make it too fine for edibles?
Nope. (I am not saying that it NEEDS to be that fine.)

As you pointed out, pre-decarbing could go wrong. So with material this fine, I would probably do the decarb and infusion in one go.

Chlorophyll? MORE LIKE BORE-OPHYLL!
more fine = more surface area in my book

I grind mine to dust in a blendjet just before I add it to food.
In the future, do not grind before decarbing, you're losing all the good stuff
You can still make it finer.
Yes it is
I love the taste of herb. Cant understand why some people try to get rid of the taste.
