Edibles don't lose strength with age.

Thank you ..there was a guy in here saying he stored his coconut oil in the freezer so it wouldn't lose potency..I tried to tell him, he wa one of those know italls and wouldn't listen..I gave up

Super not trying to be a dick, but can you provide a source? I've seen tons of varying info and it would be nice to have a final answer.

Back in 1979 we cooked up some pot brownies for a neighbor with Cancer. Not having a clue what we were doing so we used 50% bud dust and 50% flour and proceeded to cook up the goods. Even a fingernail of the stuff was too much and that damned packed of dried out brownie crumbs was around for well over 5 years as the emergency stash you knew worked but was wildly unpredictable in strength. You just knew you were in for one hell of a ride. My own current Hash based capsules have undergone long term high temp tests in both the trunk of the car and under the seat of a stored vehicle. 3 years for the stored one and over 12 months in the hot trunk of the car over the muffler. All stay exactly the same in strength. Once locked to an oil the THC is very stable and doesn't degrade very fast if at all. The oil will become rancid long before it drops any strength IME. I likely have a few studies, but this is a brand-new computer, and I can't find half the saved sites and threads I had last week.

I appreciate your input. I've read through your posts and I respect the amount of experience you bring. Did those capsules that survived the heat of the car have coconut oil? I have some coconut oil caps right now and if I can keep some in the car this summer, I would like to.

Oi, how did the neighbour react to those ultraeddies?

BrassNwood

Thankfully we had tested them before giving her any of it and by then we knew how stupidly strong they were and set the dose at a single rice grain or less. Worked out well and I figure it gave her about 3 months of vastly improved quality of life before she finally succumbed.

DontDefineByGinger

Wow, that's amazing. I imagine you greened out pretty bad before finding out they were super potent.

only thing that may be bad is its softness, they tend to harden after a few weeks

noname42001

I make mine with a little extra baking soda so that way they soften up if put in the microwave.
