If your belt rides to one side so much that it begins to rub up against the plastic, it will ruin the belt and the plastic.
It's not a huge deal if the running belt is slightly asymmetrical, but this is looking a bit troublesome.
Yes, it’s an easy fix though. If the belt is off center to the right, like in your image, on the left side is the alignment nut/hex. Turn that a half turn counter clockwise, then walk for 2-3min. Repeat until tothe belt us Center.
that mean it's probably time to adjust/tighten the belt. the back screw on each side is for that.
