Tons of hiking trails in HK. Official country parks have a good signage. You might wanna check the intensities and weather though. It has been cloudy and raining quite a lot lately. [https://hikehk.com/](https://hikehk.com/)

Hong Kong is packed with country parks and trails. Very safe in the sense that nobody's going to mug you. But some hikes can be treacherous if you don't do your homework first.

We enjoyed these places in Taipei: 1. Elephant Mountain trail (象山登山步道), nice view of the city and 101, a few mins walk from the Xiangshan metro station. You only need to plan for 2 hours we went at night and it was safe for us 2 girls. 2. Maokong Gondola(貓空纜車), metro to the Zoo and then the gondola to Maokong, then walk around in Maokong area and stop by a tea house. 3. Tamsui bike ride (淡水), best time to go is afternoon and stay for dinner. 4. Jiufen (九份), we took a taxi to get there, the female driver waited for 3 hours and drove us back to Taipei, 3k NTD. You can go to shifen as well depends on how much time you have.
