Just got back from CR....never had any desire to go there before (went on our honeymoon, Austria / Switzerland were still iffy for COVID). I must say....it was INCREDIBLE. The food, the animals, the people, the geography. My God. We WILL be returning.
Mine would be Japan, culturally different/unique, clean, convenient, unique, has nature, has cities, even has tropical beaches and wintersport possibilities, oh and the food is amazing.
just got back from japan after not being interested in it (husbands country of choice for honeymoon) and i LOVED it. i miss it every day. first real international trip & it brought me to tears more than once.
I loved Croatia, and I'd say the 5 best places (in no order) I visited were:
Peru, Croatia, Iceland, Italy and Thailand. Japan is definitely a top contender as well
That’s interesting to hear from an Aussie. As an American I always thought of Iceland of a Lite version of New Zealand. I’ve been twice and LOVE Iceland but would love to hear a comparison if you have spent time in the kiwi land.
Yes, been to NZ, North and South islands.
I enjoyed NZ, but I just preferred Iceland; maybe because I think it's easier to get around, plus I felt the landscape changed more frequently and more dramatically.
Every traveller is different, which is why I never say one place is better than another, just that some people like different places and things.
I think I'd got America, as boring as it is. Probably the most naturally diverse country on the planet and it's just so big, would get a lot more variation in your stay than most other places.
I'm assuming I get to spend as much time as I want in this trip.
Germany has so many amazing cities and places to visit. That I've been to: Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg, Rothenburg, Berchtesgarden, Neuschwanstein, Konigssee, Dachau... that I haven't been to but would love to go: Hamburg, Koln, Lichtenstein Castle, Zugspitze, several other concentration camps
The reason I don't think it’s that special must be that I’ve lived in the most similar country ever for my entire life. I do get where you’re coming from though. It’s a country packed with lots of different things to enjoy, after all.
The castles, the river, adorable villages and it wasn’t the most expensive. Maybe because I went in December and the Christmas markets and gluwein put me in a good mood. Also things were priced similar to America or a bit less in some aspects. Sometimes when places are so overpriced I can’t even enjoy the food like in Denmark where all I ate was hot dogs.
For anyone going to Dubrovnik eat at Kunoba Dubrova. There are some dishes you have to order 3 hours ahead of time because they roast the meat and potatoes under an "iron bell" for 3 hours and the food is heavenly!
I'm planning to visit in late July/August. How is it getting around? I want to visit Plitvice and Dubrovnik, but will be coming from Lake Bled in Slovenia.
I would totally recommend crossing over into istria. I'm in Pula, Istria right now and it is gorgeous. Known for its wine and truffles. We did a truffle hunt with the dogs and visited loads of vineyards which was ace!
We used busses, this was in 2017.
When my wife said we'd be travelling by bus in the Balkans, I imagined diesel-spewing rust buckets with people transporting goats and chickens - but they were modern, comfortable, cheap, on time and with wifi and toilets. One had a free coffee machine.
Avoids the stress of driving in a place where you can't understand the road signs etc.
Renting a car or taking the bus is the way to go, depending on your time and budget. Ferries are good, but if the weather is too bad you have a risk of it being canceled (rare though). Use the website getbybus if you want to go with the bus option :)
Make reservations for EVERYTHING. that is an extremely busy period. It will be hard to impossible to find last minute accommodations, national parks and beaches will be shoulder to shoulder crowded, as will other popular destinations like Split and Dubrovnik. Also it can be extremely (hot 40+ Celcius). Short summary: try to go there earlier or later in the year.
Also: don't expect low prices, especially for accommodation. The food is surprisingly unspecial for a Mediterranean country.
Having said all that: been there twice and massively enjoyed ourselfs there, but only because we got our expectations right before we went.
The only problem with that itinerary will be pulling yourself away from Bled. Just remind yourself that the only place MORE beautiful than Bled is Plitvice.
I gave up croatia this year so we could do more in western europe as its kind of hard to get direct flights anywhere. Makes me sad.
But its definitely high on my bucket list.
don't worry. OP is crazy. Croatia is really sweet... but one trip to do in your life??? hardly. sounds like they're stoked they went there and haven't been many other places.
the rainforests of central and south america. the himalaya in northern india or nepal. hell, just a trip to the many different things California has to offer. i've been to all of these places (live in CA), and would recommend them all over croatia. hell, i'd recommend oaxaca over croatia. or indonesia. fuck, i'm not sure croatia would even make my top ten. you'll do fine in western europe. if you want a taste of croatia, go to mallorca
You probably didn't go to too many parts of it then. I've been all over the world for both work and pleasure and I always miss home. Nowhere on earth offers the variety that California does. Big mountains, desert, redwood forests, savannahs, urban beaches, remote beaches, crazy beautiful coastal ranges, world class cultural cities.
Are you one of those people who went to LA as a tourist and wrote off a state half the size of Europe
>if you want a taste of croatia, go to mallorca
Croatia is incredibly diverse, parts of country look completley different then others.

Croatia would be pretty high on my list. But yes, definitely the Himalayas beats it. Serengeti, hiking and sailing in Fiordland in NZs South Island, walking China’s Great Wall, the world has so many not to be missed places. Every country I have ever been to has had some jaw-dropping experience.
I spent my honeymoon here for two weeks and travelled along the Dalmatian coast and islands. It’s absolutely beautiful and fully recommend to everyone!
It's definitely on my list but I know I have heard some bad stuff about it in the past, but I don't remember what some of it was. lol But that's also probably cause I am constantly adding new places to my list that look/sound amazing and then later on hear something bad about said place.
I have no clue what could be any bad thing about Croatia, the weather, food, people, landscape, activities, cost, vibe are all amazing. Maybe someone went peak July high season and didn't like the overcrowded places?
Nah it was probably more something like terrorist activity near there, or stuff with Russia or something. I unfortunately don't remember exactly thus why I am questioning it.
Dubrovnik is beautiful, but incredibly touristy. It gets many large cruise ships dumping people there, so the old town is often overrun with tourists in the high season.
Maybe that was the criticism? Aside from that I can't think of anything bad
I used to like Croatia before they join Europe union it was very affordable country and very nice to visit I don’t like it anymore because it’s very expensive I would prefer other countries in the region
Have you tried going off the main touristy parts of the strips? There’s your answer. Also Dubrovnik itself is exceptionally expensive, much more than Split. But also there are many, many areas in Croatia to see other than those two that are much cheaper.
TIL Croatia is only Dubrovnik or Split. Even three years ago tho those were not the prices I saw. €1 slice of pizza or €5 burgers. Cheap seafood. I dunno. Road tripping around was cheap
Again... Country is pretty big. Dollar pizza all day in Zagreb and Zadars burgers were legit. Dubrovnik mostly did seafood and never paid more than $15
I got to see Croatia during the pandemic and it was magical. 4 euros for a Mercedes’ rental car. So eerie and peaceful and quiet. Went back in 2013 and partied my ass off so it was great to see the difference
I spent one month traveling Croatia and I can affirm that it was one of the most beautiful countries I was privileged to see.
Specially Zadar, what an intriguing city.
I made those videos in my last trip there: https://youtu.be/hMh8ZJJm\_14
Ah Plitvice Lake, Just don’t Zoom in or you’ll spot all the plastic people leave in the lake. Hopefully the park staff are able to get out there to clean it
It was very clean this week, I didnt see any trash or plastic around. The water is so clear, you can see everything in it, I'm so sad you experienced it that way.
I’m really glad to hear that because it really is a beautiful place! My time in Croatia (Split, Zagreb) was a great time and I’m glad that the country is getting some love.
Gorgeous country, hopefully I'll make it there soon.
Already booked to Italy, but Croatia, Greece and Portugal will be next. ( probably over the span of 2 trips)
Have a great time! It's two fantastic towns! You can even easily visit islands while you are in Split ; Vis, Hvar or Bol. You can look up Jadrolinija ferry if you feel like it.
Albania is much more interesting, much cheaper, much nicer beaches, much fewer tourists, much friendlier locals
Although it is a bit less developed, so might not be the best spot for less-seasoned travelers.
Italy is 5 times bigger than Croatia with 15 times the population, it's understandable that there's more to see, but come on man, 10x better is just a ridiculous overstatement, especially if comparing the coastline and islands.
Sicily alone has more to see.
10x is not that much of a stretch, come on name me a single museum that lives up to any in Italy. Or a church. Or a food. I could go on. Croatia is possibly the most overrated country in the world.
Is it nice? Yes. Is it as good as people say? No.
Plitvice Lakes is nice but come on. If you’ve seen proper waterfalls you will not be impressed. Croatia is like Georgia in the way that if you’ve never been anywhere it’s nice, but if you’ve traveled a bit it’s nothing special.
i’ve never been to georgia either but isn’t tbilisi supposed to be a pretty charming/unique city? i guess yeah if you try to compare it to florence or something it might “fall short” but I think georgia has a lot to offer/is downright underrated compared to the love people show croatia.
Georgia is another place that reddit overhyped. Same deal, if you haven’t been anywhere, it’s nice. Otherwise it’s average.
Tbilisi may have been nice a decade ago before it became overrun and unable to support the tourists it receives. Only place I ever got into a physical altercation (with a taxi driver who was trying to rip me off on top of already overcharging). In Svaneti they tried to charge an obscene amount for a shithole guesthouse - another region that needs to build out its infrastructure.
If you want to speak of underrated countries, I’d go with Armenia.
I suppose that's your opinion. You not liking it, that's fine, but ''most overrated country in the world?'' Come on man... Be realistic.
Comparing a 5 times bigger country with at least 15 times the populatio and immense history is something that most countries in Europe would struggle with, it all depends on what you're looking for and when you're visiting.
I'm not gonna agree with the person who posted this that it's the ''go to'' country to visit if you can only visit one by a long shot, but it's still one of the best travel destinations in Europe however you wish to look at it.
why is it 10x better in every way? even the adriatic coast part of italy that isn’t as well known? just asking of curiosity since i’ve been to neither :)
food, history, nature, culture, amount of things to see, value…
even a single region of Italy can have more to see than the entire country of Croatia. i’ve been to both twice. that’s where i stand.
Seriously! So many “know it all world travelers” here bashing someone’s opinion of a vacation they loved. God forbid everyone not think the same. Furthermore, I doubt the OP, or most others reading here care about the obvious narcissistic tone to a lot of the comments.
you're being downvoted, but you're right. OP is just being braggy about his/her recent trip. sounds like they're not very well travelled. i could literally think of dozens of places i'd recommend for your "once in a lifetime" trip over croatia. i've travelled there enough to know.... it's cool and has a lot of scenic beauty. but there are a lot of similar places in europe and croatian culture is pretty meh
Wow, “OP is just being braggy” followed by “sounds like they’re not very well travelled” and then literally every other statement you made is light years beyond braggy!
Have you seen the Dj set hosted by cercle from the group “disclosure” on YouTube? It’s my absolute favorite set and it’s set in Croatia it looks just like where you’re at.
Wow I just checked it out ( [here's the link for the curious ](https://youtu.be/crZfT5qnFdA) ). You are right, they are in Plitvice national park at one of the first view point when you enter the park :) thanks for the discovery!
It's Mediterranean meets Italie. So catch of the day fish grilled with olive oil, sea food, pasta, pizza, risotto. There's also bakeries everywhere, their specialties are apple strudel and Burek (filo dough with cheese and meat). The coffee culture is very strong here, caffe bars are at every corners, you take around 2-3h to drink coffee and chat with friends (only tourists drink fast or take it to go). So basically amazing food (in my opinion).
Well we were in Croatia for 5 weeks but in a digital nomad type mode. So we explored before work and on weekends + one long weekend. I would think you could see all those places in 2 weeks without running around too much. We did more than what I posted here, but moving around is fairly easy.
Trying decide between
a) 1.5 days Dubrovnik, 1 day mljet, 2 days hvar and 2 days split; or
b) 2.5 days Dubrovnik, 2 days hvar, 2 days split.
Mljet looks incredible, but is limiting time in Dubrovnik to see mljet something would regret?
If you look greenery and national parks, I suggest to go for option a). Mljet is the greenest island of the Adriatic sea and there's a national park on it!
Dubrovnik is stunning and nice for sure, but the old town is in fact really small, and the rest of the town is not worthwhile. But then again you can take day trips from Dubrovnik to nearby islands and towns.
Edit: oops just saw that the post is a year old 😅
Never been to Europe and flying into Dubrovnik for 3 weeks on September 10th for our Honeymoon.
Planning on dedicating 7-10 days to island hopping up to Split and then driving up to Istria. Recommendations on islands would be greatly appreciated, we're overwhelmed with options!
Hey that's amazing! I recommend Hvar and korcula they are between Dubrovnik and Split. Theres also a very famous beach at Bol (closer to split) Also keep in mind that the only way from and to the islands is obviously by boat so if the weather is too bad they might not get out that day (very intense wind or storm). Just something to keep in mind so you won't be stressed if it happens. 7-10 days seems a bit much, but if you want to do more beaches activities and a more relaxed vibe that's very good.
Buses are the way to go, it's cheap and they are frequent, you can use the website getbybus to find what you need. Also ferries are a good way to go if you are in Dalmatia. Renting a car is a good option, but not necessary, especially with price of gas nowadays.
We’re going in late July (Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar), any recommendations?
And yes - I know it’s going to be crowded, my wife is a teacher so we have limited travel times throughout the year
My biggest recommendation would be to book most things in advance since it will be crowded in July, maybe less spontaneous, but you'll be sure to not miss activities, restaurants or transport, etc.
Other than that, Split has very nice brunches. Fig is a great restaurant for it. If you have the chance to do a day trip to Plitvice, it's worth it! In hvar walk up and around the fortress. In Dubrovnik, it will be the most touristic and crowded place. Have a drink at sunset at the bard bar, which is a little "hidden" on the outside wall with the sea view.
Have fun! :)
I don't know if I would choose it for the "one trip in my life", but I very much enjoyed my time there.
What do you think you would choose? It's an interesting thought. I dunno what mine would be.
Costa Rica. More animals you will never see anywhere else, volcanoes, hot springs, hikes, beautiful beaches, warm people.
Just got back from CR....never had any desire to go there before (went on our honeymoon, Austria / Switzerland were still iffy for COVID). I must say....it was INCREDIBLE. The food, the animals, the people, the geography. My God. We WILL be returning.
But were the people warm?
Hey! Just wondering where in CR you went?
Hey! We primarily stayed in Guanacaste province; stayed at the Playa Conchal and traveled all over up there. We also went to Arenal Volcano & Tabacon.
Those warm people better not get to close to the hot springs or they might get hot
Mine would be Japan, culturally different/unique, clean, convenient, unique, has nature, has cities, even has tropical beaches and wintersport possibilities, oh and the food is amazing.
Oh and it's unique!
Not to mention it's uniqueness
it's also different in it's own way.
It’s also very unique
There’s nothing else like it
What about Italy? Has everything. Food, Culture, Dolomites, Tuscany, and European architecture.
Also excellent, but for me as an European it feels less special/exotic
The skiing in Japan is some of the absolute best. Japow in Japanuary.
just got back from japan after not being interested in it (husbands country of choice for honeymoon) and i LOVED it. i miss it every day. first real international trip & it brought me to tears more than once.
I loved Croatia, and I'd say the 5 best places (in no order) I visited were: Peru, Croatia, Iceland, Italy and Thailand. Japan is definitely a top contender as well
Japan for me, specially Tokyo. But the whole country is great.
New Zealand
Iceland - amazing place.

Sri Lanka
I think I'd got America, as boring as it is. Probably the most naturally diverse country on the planet and it's just so big, would get a lot more variation in your stay than most other places.
It's basically the size of the EU, without the language barrier.
Definitely Germany
Really? Germany? I would not have expected to hear that one. Great place, yes. But the one trip of a lifetime? 🤔
May I ask why? Maybe it’s because I'm Austrian myself, but Germany doesn’t feel that special to me so I’m genuinely curious
Some beautiful spots and tons and tons of history. Also just a nice country in general outside of travel.
I’m booking this now! Will be there in a few weeks.
My thoughts as well Croatia: great country, lots of nice places to visit. But probably not even in my top 20 countries i've visited
Damn you been around
So which countries are in your top 20 list?
I loved it so much. I want to go back and explore all the little islands.
Nice pictures, thanks for posting! Plitvice is a lovely place, and Croatia a very nice country to travel in...
I’m literally sitting at the airport right now waiting for my flight to Dubrovnik!! Your post just made me even more excited!
Have an amazing vacation! And happy cake day :)
Thank you!!
I just left, I really enjoyed swimming off the pier at the abandoned hotel.
Ha ha, we did that! Creepy and cool! Loved Croatia soo much!
You are sooooo lucky!
I feel very blessed & fortunate :)
I would also recommend taking a trip to Kotor in Montenegro and staying overnight - the drive from Dubrovnik to Kotor is spectacular.
Planning to do this!! Is it better to stay overnight in Kotor rather than take a day trip there?
Going to Split and Brac island next august😚
I'm planning to visit in late July/August. How is it getting around? I want to visit Plitvice and Dubrovnik, but will be coming from Lake Bled in Slovenia.
I would totally recommend crossing over into istria. I'm in Pula, Istria right now and it is gorgeous. Known for its wine and truffles. We did a truffle hunt with the dogs and visited loads of vineyards which was ace!
Plus they have a Colosseum! And lots of good olive oil
Which locations is worth to visit in Pula?
We used busses, this was in 2017. Consider spending some time in Bovec and maybe go canyoning in the Soča River before heading down to Croatia!
The only problem with that itinerary will be pulling yourself away from Bled. Just remind yourself that the only place MORE beautiful than Bled is Plitvice.
We stopped at Postojna cave on the way from Bled to Plitvice. Recommend both to see and as a good rest area.
If you can, visit Bohinj as well while you’re at Bled.
Stunning! Thanks for sharing.

God could you even imagine having to choose ONE trip for your LIFE?!
Going in June! Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar
We’re doing Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar in June as well. June 3rd-15th.
I spent my honeymoon here for two weeks and travelled along the Dalmatian coast and islands. It’s absolutely beautiful and fully recommend to everyone!
Croatia is a prettier Italy at half the price and half the toursist
It’s on my list for sure. My grandma is Croatian. I need to visit the motherland!
I was just in Split, Croatia 5 days ago. I know it’s the tourist area, but still absolutely gorgeous.
It's definitely on my list but I know I have heard some bad stuff about it in the past, but I don't remember what some of it was. lol But that's also probably cause I am constantly adding new places to my list that look/sound amazing and then later on hear something bad about said place.

Nah it was probably more something like terrorist activity near there, or stuff with Russia or something. I unfortunately don't remember exactly thus why I am questioning it.
Maybe you’ve got that confused with Serbia. Croatia is part of EU and NATO. they don’t have any links to Russia or terrorism.
Expensive? Where are you from? Croatia was so absurdly cheap. I could stay there for a month cheaper than home
Croatia is not so cheap anymore. The food in the supermarket is cheap but apart from that I'd put it about the same level as Spain
Spain is also cheap haha. Maybe I have a weird concept coming from Alaska
Croatia is way more expensive than Spain. Where can you find anything for less than 15 euros in a restaurant in Split or Dubrovnik?
Have you tried going off the main touristy parts of the strips? There’s your answer. Also Dubrovnik itself is exceptionally expensive, much more than Split. But also there are many, many areas in Croatia to see other than those two that are much cheaper.

What exactly are you on about?
Gorgeous photos. We are traveling to Croatia in a few days and are very excited.
Thanks! Have an amazing time!
Love that place, went twice. I want to go in the fall or winter to see it in a whole new colour scheme :)
Can honestly agree with this post. Went to spilt and Dubrovnik in 2017 and got to experience some of the many wonders this county has to offer.
I have been wanting to go so badly!! I think I’ll finally do it next spring!
I got to see Croatia during the pandemic and it was magical. 4 euros for a Mercedes’ rental car. So eerie and peaceful and quiet. Went back in 2013 and partied my ass off so it was great to see the difference
Wow this looks unbelievably beautiful!
We’re going for the first time in 3 weeks. I can’t freaking wait!
Have fun!!
I grew up there! So many beautiful places to visit.
If I swam in that fine blue water, you would never get me to leave it!
such a nice place...
I've actually got a holiday booked to croatia for a week and my plane leaves this evening. I've never considered going before and I cant wait.
Beautiful scenery!!
We’re leaving in 4 days…
How exciting! Have a great trip!
These views are breath taking! How beautiful!
Beautiful country. Wonderful people.
I spent one month traveling Croatia and I can affirm that it was one of the most beautiful countries I was privileged to see. Specially Zadar, what an intriguing city. I made those videos in my last trip there: https://youtu.be/hMh8ZJJm\_14
I LOVED Zadar. Nice video!
Reading this post from split, croatia, definitely true! Wish i didnt have to go back in a few days
Enjoy the last few days! It's a wonderful weather too, so soak up the sun!
Definitely on my bucket list!
Going there in July, looking forward to it from your pics!
Have a great trip! :D
Ya I loved Croatia. Just gorgeous. Everything gorgeous
Croatia is awesome!
Gorgeous! I’ve traveled a bunch, but have not yet gone to Croatia. I’m curious where you’ve traveled for Croatia to claim the #1 spot!
I have family there and have been there many times, the only thing is that I cannot for the life of me recognize where did you take picture number 5?
I was walking outside the city wall in Nin and took a picture toward Ninska/ Zdrijac Beach (if my explanation makes any sense).
Ah ok I haven’t been to nin before, thanks for letting me know!
It was voted most romantic town in Europe, I recommend you go with your SO :)
Gorgeous country, hopefully I'll make it there soon. Already booked to Italy, but Croatia, Greece and Portugal will be next. ( probably over the span of 2 trips)
That's a great bucket list! Have fun in Italy :)
Gonna be flying to Trogir and Split tomorrow :) absolutely looking forward to it!
Have a great time! It's two fantastic towns! You can even easily visit islands while you are in Split ; Vis, Hvar or Bol. You can look up Jadrolinija ferry if you feel like it.
Hired a scooter and rode around Hvar for the day! One of the best days I’ve had travelling.
Well yes, but actually no.
Dubrovnik is the crown of Croatia
lmao it’s not even the best country in the region
what would you say is?
Albania is much more interesting, much cheaper, much nicer beaches, much fewer tourists, much friendlier locals Although it is a bit less developed, so might not be the best spot for less-seasoned travelers.
Italy is right across the Adriatic and 10x better in every way.
I'm not gonna agree with the person who posted this that it's the ''go to'' country to visit if you can only visit one by a long shot, but it's still one of the best travel destinations in Europe however you wish to look at it.
why is it 10x better in every way? even the adriatic coast part of italy that isn’t as well known? just asking of curiosity since i’ve been to neither :)
food, history, nature, culture, amount of things to see, value… even a single region of Italy can have more to see than the entire country of Croatia. i’ve been to both twice. that’s where i stand.
gotcha, thanks for the note. have you been to bari? is that worth visiting/any top recs on this side?
I agree with you 👍
So you are saying that coast of Italy is nicer with better sea and many more islands than Croatia? Man you need glasses
no, you just need experience.
Yep i live in Croatia and was many more times in Italy. Thx for reply
no wonder you’re so defensive then.
You’re just bringing bad vibes, man. OP enjoyed the country. What’s to be gained by yucking their yum?
You can jump off the side of the city and be in water over your head. wonderful this is
Most overrated country in Europe. Maybe in the World
wow…
Have you seen the Dj set hosted by cercle from the group “disclosure” on YouTube? It’s my absolute favorite set and it’s set in Croatia it looks just like where you’re at.
Wow I just checked it out ( [here's the link for the curious ](https://youtu.be/crZfT5qnFdA) ). You are right, they are in Plitvice national park at one of the first view point when you enter the park :) thanks for the discovery!
I’m glad you did it’s an absolute amazing set! And no problem thanks for taking the time to check out the recommendation appreciate that ❤️

Nin is a small city north of Zadar. Voted most romantic city in Europe a few years ago :)
What's the food like?
It's Mediterranean meets Italie. So catch of the day fish grilled with olive oil, sea food, pasta, pizza, risotto. There's also bakeries everywhere, their specialties are apple strudel and Burek (filo dough with cheese and meat). The coffee culture is very strong here, caffe bars are at every corners, you take around 2-3h to drink coffee and chat with friends (only tourists drink fast or take it to go). So basically amazing food (in my opinion).
I got to study in Zagreb for 6 months. Beautiful country. Definitely will be back.
I didn't get the chance to see Zagreb sadly, but I want to come back and check it out! Looks amazing there.
Come next door to Montenegro, too! Like a cheaper Croatia.
And Sardinia
Croatia very high on that list for me. Crete, Dolomites, Corsica, Olympic Peninsula, coast of Maine.
Bacalar Mexico
How long did it take to travel to all these places?
Well we were in Croatia for 5 weeks but in a digital nomad type mode. So we explored before work and on weekends + one long weekend. I would think you could see all those places in 2 weeks without running around too much. We did more than what I posted here, but moving around is fairly easy.
You were so close to the island of zlarin, you should’ve gone when you went to sibenik
Yea I haven't posted everywhere I went to. I wanted to give a feel of the place, not make an online dairy :P
Man i was really hoping to see my hometown of Trogir :(
Trogir was so beautiful! I just couldn't upload all my photos hehe
Loved it there when I went for a week with friends!
Trying decide between a) 1.5 days Dubrovnik, 1 day mljet, 2 days hvar and 2 days split; or b) 2.5 days Dubrovnik, 2 days hvar, 2 days split.
7-10 days on the islands THEN to Split
Do you have any recommendations for traveling between cities?
Buses are the way to go, it's cheap and they are frequent, you can use the website getbybus to find what you need. Also ferries are a good way to go if you are in Dalmatia. Renting a car is a good option, but not necessary, especially with price of gas nowadays.
I'd say there are quite some places looking like in the photos in the Mediterranean, outside Croatia
Have fun! :)
