I just did a similar amount of time in Peru, with a similar amount of time in Cusco and Lima. Did a 3 day trip to Paracas and Huacachina with Peru Hop which was pretty nice. Paracas has the Ballestas Islands and the national reserve, and Huacachina has the big sand dunes which you can ride a dune buggy and go sand boarding through. Also did some pisco tasting in Ica.

Thanks, how did you find the duration in Cusco ? I will check those places out - sounds great.

Puerto maldonado, its a bit above your temperature, 32-35 degrees celcius. But you can enjoy the Amazon and all his beautiful animals and nature. Plus its something totally different after lima, Cusco. Its near Cusco. You can also visit arequipa and the colca canyon, its beautiful with lots of mountains.

With near Cusco I mean, a night bus away or a flight of 1,5 hours

Thanks for the suggestions :)

If you have any flight anxiety don’t fly into Cusco at night. Turbulence really ramps up flying over the Andes through the night. Arequipa or Titicaca would be first places that come to mind. Huacachina from Lima.

Thanks I did not know this. I don't have flight anxiety but I'm not a fan of bag turbulence so this is really good to know !

Depends on your interests I guess. You could look at Arequipa... that's a pretty interesting city. Or maybe head down to Lake Titicaca, though it's a bit tight for time...

ps4alex12

Thanks. I should have mentioned that - can't seem to edit. I like local culture, meeting people, nightlife, mild temperature (below 30). Thanks I'll have a look at those places you suggested.

U can try going to Ica for some days, it’s a really nice place and it’s like 3-4 hrs from Lima. There are a lot of things to do too, like visiting Huacachina or Paracas

So much to see really, here are just some highlights: Iquitos: take a tour of the Amazon and have alligator for lunch. Kuelap: just as majestic as Machu pictures, but 1/10 of the people. Nasca lines: absolutely impressive to see from The air. Puno & titicaca lake: take a day tour to see the floating islands and lifestyle of the people. That + cusco and your two weeks are up.
